What is loss of biodiversity? 路

Loss of biodiversity for me is something that it is in process to extinct; it could be an animal or a thing. In 100 years we have lost 97% of tigers. Many spices are getting extinct because of global warming or destruction of habitats. One of some animals are getting in the process of extinction are the gorillas. The gorillas are getting extended that is bad because the gorillas behave like humans and they help us in agriculture; they spread the seeds of the fruit they consume. WE the humans are going to stop working for helping the world but there is something even much bigger we are part of the ecosystem so we are damaged ourselves.

Percentages of extinct animals in the past years: 路 At threat of extinction are: o 1 out of 8 birds o 1 out of 4 mammals o 1 out of 4 conifers o 1 out of 3 amphibians o 6 out of 7 marine turtles

These are some percentages of some four natural recourses: · “75% of genetic diversity of agricultural crops has been lost · 75% of the world’s fisheries are fully or over exploited · Up to 70% of the world’s known species risk extinction if the global temperatures rise by more than 3.5°C · 1/3rd of reef-building corals around the world are threatened with extinction · Over 350 million people suffer from severe water scarcity” The animals get in extinction because they lost they habitat or they are killed. Some people kill animals only for their skin, they want rugs or coats.

Donate to save species in danger of extinction

Nowadays, loss of biodiversity is not seen as a relevant problem like global warming, but in the future it could hurt through disappearance of our futuristic resources.

Causes Have you ever wondered what causes our animal and vegetal species to become extinct? Well, mainly us humans. Through overfishing and hunting, animals have not enough time to reproduce themselves and suddenly their specie population declines. Because of the dramatically increase of human population, also known as overpopulation, agriculture has risen. Because of this, forestlands on the ecosystems are being changed into croplands for human subsistence necessities causing to cover the natural resources with pesticide, or pollute the water. Through humans´ greenhouse gases emissions, the ecosystems are getting contaminated and as a consequence, the habitats are being destroyed. Besides of humans, climate change or variability is causing extinction; some living organisms do not have enough time to adapt to the new climatic conditions and start dying. Species may migrate to other habitats if they lose their. This species may be predators that end with the native animals and their specie.

This is a deforested forest where many animals are dying because of their habitat loss.

Effects Because of humans either wanting to settle on places, or wanting to use them as an agricultural land, they deforest or burn the place for their own comfort. Another consequence is that global warming may alter the water cycle and reduce the availability of nitrogen and nutrients in the area. If we lose all of our diversity, there could not be mutualistic relationships; humans need animals and plants, plants and animals need humans. If the species simply get extinct, in the future there will be some things that will be impossible to do, and some things may be worse than we can think.

The loss of biodiversity on the earth is happening very fast. Biodiversity loss must be stopped or otherwise our generation and future generations will hardly survive. Here are some possible solutions on how to sustain biodiversity loss. Animals are losing their habitat a lot and that's a big problem. Human population is growing a lot, needing new areas to live in which they reduce the animal habitats. Many animals are going extinct because their habitats are constantly been destroyed. World needs to make more protected areas free of humans because this is the only way to stop the extinction of animals in the future. Many plants and animals are finding difficult to survive with the changes in climate, and many of them will become extinct unless we stop climate change from becoming worse. We need to stop deforestation in some way. By prohibiting it totally and by making reforestation plans to save the forests.

These are some sustainable solutions for the loss of biodiversity.
