Creator of Brazilian Day Orlando Festival

Paulo Correa - Creator of Brazilian Day Orlando Festival, event "proclaimed" by the American government as "Brazil's Day" in Central Florida.

Journalist Paulo Roberto Correa, born in Nazare, Bahia, has been living in the US for 30 years and where performed many jobs in the communication and tourism areas. Nowadays his name is linked to Brazilian Day Orlando Festival, Orlando News Radio, and Clipping ON magazine, which are his newest "babies".

Paulo Correa is also a tourism cultural and professional producer with a vast clientele. "I am an immigrant in his mature phase - 30 years of US. I was one of the pioneers of the Brazilian tourism, cultural production and journalism. I was part of papers like Florida Review, Orlando Review, Brazil-USA, The Brazilian Post, Orlando News, Jornal B&B, Gazeta News, and of magazines like Florida na ABAV, Momento Magazine, Plus Magazine, etc. where I performed editorial and production functions", he recalls. He was also a pioneer in the production of notable concerts performed by well-known artists such as Belchior, Fagner, Geraldo Azevedo, Guilherme Arantes, Osvaldo Montenegro, Familia Lima, Leo Gandelman, Asa de Aguia, Vander Lee, among other names.

This unstoppable journalist's rich story is a reflex of his non-stopping search for a new activity. That's the reason why his name is behind significant initiatives that benefitted the community as a whole: Sao Joao, Independence Day Show, Reveillon, Brazilian Night, Miss Brazil-USA, and Orlando and Tampa Regionals. All of these had the influence of this committed journalist. As a matter of fact, it was through Correa that the first National Miss Brazil-USA event visited Orlando. In his story it's also the expansion of the Brazilian International Press Award, ABFC (Brazilian Association of Central Florida), ABI-Inter (Brazilian Press Association - International), and CFBACC (Central Florida Brazilian American).

Paulo Correa continues to move forward with his current projects. "We will increase our Radio Orlando News exposure on the web, Clipping ON, and make Brazilian Day Orlando Festival bigger, better and the most important event of Central Florida's calendar", says an enthused Correa.

What is the Brazilian Day Orlando Festival Brazilian Day Orlando is a popular festival created by journalist Paulo Correa to celebrate Brazil and the Brazilian people making September the "Brazilian month" in Central Florida. BDO Festival's goal has several functions:

** To gather families, friends and neighbors of Brazilians in Florida (which is the home of approximately 400,000 Brazilians and welcomes a few hundred thousand tourists all year long) to celebrate and make Brazil's culture and its tourism known.

** To facilitate the integration of the Brazilian culture with the Hispanic and North American culture along others.

** To show that our Brasil (with a Z) is every day more united and aware of the need to organize ourselves for the coming generation.

** And mainly, BDO Festival points out the importance of spreading and informing about Brazil's tourism and culture, about its cities or regions with their touristic delights, entertainment, gastronomy, and about the cultural richness and hospitality as a whole, which are "unique in the world" as said by Correa.

BDO Festival promotes Brazil in Central Florida with an intense campaign which takes place in a specific week of events on the 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th (with small exhibitions / promotions in partner institutions - University of Central Florida, Valencia College, Full Sail University, Florida Christian University, CFBACC (Central Florida Brazilian American Chamber of Commerce), Brazilian Consulate, Rotary Club Brazil - Orlando, and Brazilian Restaurants. The Grand Finale will take place on September 17th (Sunday) from 12PM through 8PM promoting Brazil's tourism and cultural image in the midst of other nations.
