Dame Judi Dench: Victoria & Abdul

AUTUMN17

WELCOME

As we write this it's still technically summer. But there has, of late, been a wee nip in the air turning thoughts to open fires, drams of whisky and maybe a good book? But even better, a good film... Well we would think that wouldn't we? We've been so excited about Blade Runner 2049 coming out this autumn we all agreed we had to watch it on opening night. And as we didn't fancy a trip to Cineworld, we decided to do it here, for the full premiere experience followed by 'one to two' screenings - so we hope we're not the only ones excited by it! We also have Dame Judi Dench starring as Queen Victoria in Victoria & Abdul, Kenneth Branagh as Hercule Poirot in his remake of Murder on the Orient Express and the hotly anticipated arrival on Harry Hole on the big screen - if you've never read the Jo Nesbo thrillers you need to before you watch The Snowman. Then in November we go all-out for adventure with our annual Wirksworth Adventure Film Festival (WAFF) which includes our world-premier of The Best of Kendal plus Losing Sight of Shore, the inspirational story of four women who rowed the Pacific. As for December, we're getting ready for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Watch the website for details. It'll be Christmas before you know it....

Wirksworth is tucked away in the Derbyshire Dales, a bit off the beaten track - but that’s the way we like it. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON NORTH END There is parking on Harrison Drive, at the railway station during the day and on the Market Place, Barmote Court (off Coldwell Street) and Wood Street car parks.

WIRKSWORTH

GOOD NEIGHBOURS North End is our favourite street in town. We live here, we work here, we tend to drink here too. That’s why we ask all our customers to help us minimise any disturbance on the street and help us be good neighbours. So if you arrive by car, we ask you not to park on North End itself, as lots of our neighbours rely on on-street parking. There’s plenty of parking elsewhere in town. If you smoke, we ask you to do so away from the cinema but also away from residential houses -

ACCESS there’s a handy bench across the road at the top of Greenway Croft. Finally, when you leave, please do so quietly as some of our neighbours are elderly and others have young children, who may have retired to bed by the time you leave.

Please let the Box Office know when booking tickets, should you need to reserve a wheelchair-user space. We have a hearing loop installed in the auditorium and are fully wheelchair accessible.

This will all help keep us in the good books with our neighbours - which is always a good thing. Thanks for your help!
