Knowledge Management And Collaborative Tolls. Knowledge is a mixture of contextual information, experiences, rules and values. It is richer and deeper than information, and more valuable, as it allows you to reflect on the information and add your own personal experience, judgment and wisdom. Values and beliefs are also a component of knowledge that will determine the interpretation and organization of knowledge. Consequently, knowledge involves its use to solve a problem and make decisions, while data, information and knowledge can be considered as assets of an organization, knowledge provides a high level of meaning about the data, and information conveys meaning and it tends to be more valuable, although it may be ephemeral. In the context of IT, knowledge is very different from data and information, since data is a collection of facts, measurements and statistics, used to obtain organized or processed data (in a file), accurate and timely ( they are available on time) on the other hand knowledge is contextual information, it is meaningful, actionable and useful.
Having knowledge implies the ability to solve a problem while the information does not have the same meaning and may not serve to solve a problem. The ability to act and make decisions is an integral characteristic of actionable knowledge. For example, two people in the same context and with the same information may not have the same human capacity to add value in decision-making, which may be due to different training, approaches and varied perspectives of the problem or other reasons as experiential elements and reflective that differentiate it from information in a given context. the knowledge can be divided into two, in tacit and explicit knowledge, the explicit is that knowledge more objective, rational and technical. In an organization, explicit knowledge consists of data, software documents, policies, procedure guides, reports, products, strategies, objectives, key competences of the company and even IT infrastructures, ICT normally focuses on explicit knowledge, that knowledge that can be captured, organized and transferred through digital media such as a document, a memorandum or a financial report. The other and no less important is the tacit knowledge that is normally the domain of the subjective, cognitive and learning experiences; It is highly personal, difficult to formalize and communicate, in addition to specifying the context. Tacit knowledge is an accumulated store of experiences, thoughts, know-how, secrets or norms of
conduct of an organization, modes or methodology of work, skills and abilities. The management of knowledge has a cycle, which consists of six stages, the reason of the cycle is that knowledge is continuously refined over time and must be updated to reflect changes, knowledge is not destroyed, except with the passage of time in the human being, the stages of the life cycle of a management system are: create knowledge, capture knowledge, refine knowledge, store knowledge, knowledge management and dissemination of knowledge. Another of the components of a SGC, are the discovery and recovery technologies, which seek the recovery and discovery of databases, data warehouses, and recently the Bigdata, which is a process used to find and extract useful information from Volumes of documents and data, includes tasks such as extraction of knowledge, exploration of knowledge, processing of data patterns, mining of data and texts, search on the web. All these activities are carried out automatically and allow access, discovery and recovery to all kinds of professionals. For the integration part, it must be taken into account that since a management system is a company and business system, it must be integrated with the other information systems of the company. Obviously, when its implementation is decided, independently
of the department to which this ascribed, it must be designed and developed, it can not be considered as an application of software.
