Biography I am a 21 year old Canadian, raised by Polish parents who immigrated to North America in their early twenties. They introduced me to construction and allowed me to gain a wealth of on-site experience. As a Humber Architectural Technology graduate, I’ve learned the visual, technical, and theoretical aspects of constructing buildings. I use existing site conditions to mold a structure. Examples include the Alton Mill Heritage building or the sharp, rocky cliff sides of Alberta, the Woodstock House. My personal goal is to enhance communities that embrace and respect rich architectural culture.

Alton Mills Community Center One of Caledons greatest historial treasures is Alton Mills Art Centre. It was originally built in 1881 right off the edge of Shaw’s Creek. The historical building is situated on a beautiful site that I wanted to take advantage of. The design concept behind my community centre is to express the unpredictablility, naturally distracting characteristics of nature. Using such dramtic shapes, slanted and angled at different directions, the building gives off the impression of it reacting to the current site conditions, like the mass wall foundations and stone court yard beyond. Wood framed railings, and colomns interact with the current building that is to remain throughout construction, which gives a great opportunity to enjoy both generations of architecture.

BATHROOM RENDERINGS

Main Floor & Bathroom Reno I partnered with a designer to create new open spaces throughout the house. In addition, we remodeled an outdated bathroom originally built back in 1954. We used numerous innovated materials often with a soft white colour.

I proposed to keep the traditional yellow lighting to allow for a smooth transition into the modern interior. We replaced all the incandescent light bulbs with warm LEDs, to maintain the specific light while saving energy.

MOUNTAIN SIDE DESIGN

The Woodstock House The design of this house was inspired after my Materials and Methods course of day light heating and lighting.

I specifically picked a site to design this building on which was elevated beyond normal circumstances.

The building was using direct sunlight to heat up concrete floor slabs during the day and then later storing that energy throughout the night.

Another design strategy I incorporated into my design was the enlarged open windows along the southern elevation.

DOWNTOWN INFILL DESIGN Baby View Apartment This is another personal project that I have created. I wanted to practice urban developement strategys using a method commonly known as urban infilling. Infilling is the urban planning term for recycling a parcel of empty, or

undeveloped land that is not currently used as an urban space or community. I used this piece of land to design a three story apartment building. Its unique and distinct look eliminates the stale, repetitive look many downtown apartment complexes showcase.
