PETERLEE CONTEMPORARY CENTER FOR WOODWORK May 2019 Thesis Project Programs used: None It seems clear that while computer-aided design has revolutionized and improved the way in which building designs are created, I chose to use the traditional methods of hand drawing and model making to conceptualize and communicate my thesis project designs. The conceptual basis for this project is challenging the notion of a “left-behind place. A design enterprise reclaiming the forgotten and a celebration through architecture. The aim of the PCCW is to act as an incentive for young people to stay in Peterlee (site) by building community through a cultural amenity that offers social engagement and vocational training to boost the local economy.
