BENEFICIARY The mantra, “To whom much is given, much is required guides Pat and Emmitt Smith’s philanthropic endeavors. Growing up, Pat and Emmitt Smith were blessed with mentors who helped open doors for them and shape the people they have come to be today. In turn, they have developed a passion for helping young people by providing them with opportunities to reach their fullest potential and to achieve their dreams, regardless of barriers that may be placed before them. Focusing primarily in North Texas, Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities is a 501c3 public charity that provides educational opportunities and experiences for children through three key programs: In 2012, TEAM 22 was created to identify dedicated high potential students in grades six and seven and help them achieve their academic and personal dreams by providing continued mentorship, unique educational experiences and opportunities through college and university. Since that time, Pat and Emmitt have personally mentored a group of students from the Dallas area by working with two cohorts of ten students and providing them with mentors, joining them in volunteer opportunities and accompanying them on cultural and educational excursions. Each August, Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities partners with the Dallas Independent School District to serve thousands of families in high need elementary schools with a robust back to school uniform program. This community program involves several supporters that provide uniforms, food, books and medical screenings and to date has served 7,000 high need families in the Dallas community. This August we will serve 3,000 more students reaching a total of 10,000 unique families served in five years. Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities supports local organizations through an annual grants and scholarship process. For information please email dvilardi@ejsmithenterprises. com. If you can not attend the event, but wish to contribute, please consider making a donation.
