What is Gelato? by: Deidre Callender

INTRO The art of making Gelato has been passed down from generation to generation. Our Gelato is made using prime ingredients (predominantly imported from Italy) giving us a truly authentic product. Gelato is the Italian word for ice cream; It stands apart from normal ice cream because of 3 major unique differences. Healthier Alternative Our product contains no cornstarch (excessive amount of these products leads to a myriad of health problems including obesity, high blood pressure and cancer) and no transgenic fat (Not having genetic material (DNA) from another species. This term can be applied to an organism that has genes from another organism.) giving us a much lower fat content, making it an incredibly healthier alternative to regular ice cream. Superior Quality Gelato is much higher in density, resulting in a product that is superior in quality. Ice cream is made by mixing ingredients together whilst adding air. Manufacturers add lots of air into their ice cream because it increases the quantity of product that can be produced per batch. However, little air is mixed into our product resulting in a much more rich & flavorful product high in density.

With a much lower melting time to regular ice cream our product lasts longer giving the customer more time to enjoy the rich flavors of our product. Easier to store & serve Gelato can be stored and served at a warmer temperature than regular ice cream and consists of a smooth and creamy texture.

Gelato Crepe Recipe by: Diana Festini

Utensils:- An Electric Blender Ingredients:- to make a quart of crepe mixture, you will need: 3 Eggs 300g Plain flour 600g Milk 30g Vegetable Oil 20g Sugar 10g Salt Add all the ingredients together in the blender and blend on a medium speed (no.2) until batter is smooth (no lumps). Pour a cupful of the batter onto a large wide frying pan that has been preheated to a medium heat. Spread the liquid pancake as far out to the edge of the pan as possible by carefully rolling the pan slowly in a rocking motion. Cook the pancake for about 2 minutes or until you notice the edges of the pancake turning golden brown. Using a heat resistant spatula, scrape the edges of the pancake off the pan and slide the spatula under so you can flip the pancake over to cook the top side. After a minute check the underside to see if it is golden brown, and then carefully remove off heat and onto a serving plate. Place two scoops of desired gelato onto pancake. Fold pancake over in half over gelato, squirt fresh whipped cream or desired syrup add pieces of cut fresh fruit (e.g. strawberries) and serve immediately. Enjoy!

“Oricot� Sorbet Cocktail by: Syntasha Wright Utensils:An Electric Blender Glass Ingredients:1/2 Ounce of Takillya or Vodka 1/2 Lemon/Lime Juice 2 Sorbet scoops (orange and Apricot) 1/2 Ounce of Aperol Put all of the ingredients into the blender and blend until all of the ingredients have been combined well. Put some whip cream and a basil leaf on the top and serve. Enjoy!

Sorbet Champagne float by: Syntasha Wright Utensils:Glass Ingredients:1 Sorbet Scoop 1 Bottle of Soda Place a scoop of icecream into a glass and then fill the glass halfway with the soda. Refirdgerate or serve right away. Enjoy!
