The City of West Palm Beach’s Flagler Financial District is designed to connect the many banks, brokerages, family offices and investment offices already located in the city, and attract other businesses that benefit from proximity to others in the financial field. “I think it makes West Palm Beach even more attractive to financial sector executives, knowing that there are similar businesses close by,” said Mayor Jeri Muoio . “Within the financial district there are a lot of demands for data and cloud processing. Having the infrastructure to support that in one centralized area makes a lot of sense.” 44 PALM BEACH COUNTY BUSINESS PROFILE | BDB.ORG
Christopher Roog, West Palm Beach economic development director, agrees that the district which stretches from Okeechobee Boulevard to 6th Street, and from the waterfront of Flagler Drive to Rosemary Avenue, is a natural extension of the sector growth already fueling the city’s economy. “Big financial businesses tend to group together,” Roog says. “West Palm Beach is rapidly becoming a hub for the financial industry. We already have several headquarters in the heart of our downtown, and the creation of the Flagler Financial District highlights the critical mass the sector has reached in our city.”
