Built in 1931, this classic Golden Era home provides a special, intimate setting for your wedding ceremony and reception. Hollins House is staffed by an experienced team dedicated to working with you, guiding you through decisions on food and drinks for guests, and details such as photography, flowers and music. Margy Seifert, the events coordinator at Hollins House for over 20 years, specializes in customizing the entire experience to meet your needs.

The setting is incomparable. The Hollins House sits high on a hill above one of the nation’s top golf courses, Pasatiempo Golf Club. Its clean, classic lines, large windows and french doors allow guests to move easily out of the formal dining room and cozy bar out to a brick patio and grassy lawn. From there, guests can relax under stunning coastal oak trees and look across Monterey Bay to Cypress Point watching sailboats that dot the seascape far below. Golfers stroll leisurely across the manicured fairways below where golfing greats such as Tiger Woods, Bobby Jones, Ken Venturi and many others have competed. Decades ago, this spectacular place was a playground for Hollywood greats and celebrities such as Bing Crosby, Amelia Earhart, Spencer Tracy, Charlie Chaplin, Will Rogers, Joan Fontaine, Mary Pickford, the Rothchilds and Vanderbilts, and Babe Zaharias. This relaxing setting within Pasatiempo, certified as a sanctuary by Audubon International, serves as the perfect atmosphere to put you and your guests at ease, and to make vows that you will remember forever. Hollins House

With its high ceilings, crystal chandeliers and hand crafted hardwood finishes, the Hollins House retains a 1930’s feel with a unique blend of warm formality and casual elegance. It is a graceful estate, with adjoining rooms that work well as separate, stand alone facilities, or blend easily together to host a large party of up to 250. We have many configurations for seated dinners, buffets or dining stations that can accommodate small, medium or large parties, and many different looks. This flexibility not only allows us to make different size parties fit comfortably within our stately rooms, but it gives the wedding party piece of mind should inclimate weather threaten to disrupt the special day. Most facilities offer no alternatives in case of rain; at Hollins House, we can often accommodate a last minute decision to move indoors, and still provide a large, special space overlooking the bay for you and your friends to enjoy your special ceremony.

Moderate Weather Year Round

While many couples choose to take their vows during the summer months, Hollins House is an ideal location for weddings year round. Pasatiempo is located on the “sunny side� of Monterey Bay, rarely experiencing the fog that often blankets areas to the north or south. Summers are often cool and dry, and winter days are often quite comfortable, with average temperatures up to 10 degrees warmer than other towns in Northern California. Many couples choose to have their special day at Hollins House in the winter, and are often surprised when guests linger outside on the patio to enjoy the spectacular views and moderate temperatures. Our wood burning fireplaces inside providing extra warmth for guests who want a cozy atmosphere.

When Golf Digest Sr. writer Matt Ginella traveled the United States in 2008 looking for the finest courses available to public golfers, he played Doral, Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, and a host of others…and he named Pasatiempo as his #1 course in the country. Take Highway 17 south towards Santa Cruz. Exit at Pasatiempo Drive. Turn right on Pasatiempo Drive after passing the Pasatiempo Inn. Proceed through the gate and stay to the right. Pasatiempo Drive will turn into Clubhouse Road; follow up the hill to the Hollins House on the right Time: Allow 45 minutes from San Jose.

Take Highway 1 north towards Santa Cruz. Take Highway 17 north towards San Jose. Exit at Pasatiempo Drive. Turn left over the overpass, then another left at the Pasatiempo Inn. Turn right at Pasatiempo Drive. Proceed through the gate and stay to the right. Pasatiempo Drive will turn into Clubhouse Road; follow up the hill to the Hollins House on the right Time: Allow 10 minutes from downtown Santa Cruz and 50 minutes from Monterey.
