At Gala, Help “unmasked” for Mary Help!

n October 26, the Dames of Mary Help hosted their 10th annual gala, “A Black and White Masquerade Evening,” at The Venetian in Garfield, NJ.
from the comfort of their own seats using special iPhones. The Gala was filled with great people who deeply care about the young women of Mary Help of Christians Academy and their futures. Thank you to all for helping make the evening a success – we raised more than $200,000!
This year’s Gala honored Rosemarie D’Alessandro and The Hartgers Family of Hartgers Jewelers for their long history of actively supporting nonprofit organizations and, especially, Mary Help of Christians Academy. We had the pleasure of having Della Crews and Rick Holmes, two New Jersey News 12 TV anchors, serve as the Mistress and Master of Ceremonies for the evening. The night included a live and silent auction along with on-the-spot sponsorship in order to raise scholarship funds for Mary Help. Long gone are the days when you wrote in your bid by hand. Guests were given Bid Pal devices which allowed them to bid and donate
Gala guests were greeted by a mysterious black-and-white “masquerade” theme décor, which set the mood for the wonderment that awaited them! At right, Patricia Poldori of Haledon, NJ, and Marsha Stimola of Wyckoff, NJ, enjoyed their masks!
The Blue Jay, the Mary Help Mascot, made a special appearance, lifesize (above) and as a Beanie Baby (right). These Blue Jays were auctioned off to support student scholarships. (PHotos By lorraine corsale)
