It also develops proper attitudes for realizing such potentials through critical and informed judgments that foster concern for individual and social well-being. It develops a love for learning by encouraging activities that promote knowledge of the basic concepts, methodologies, and rewards learning. It builds skills and competencies that help a student acquire the distinctive outcomes defined in the University mission statement. While it may emphasize the literacy of its discipline, it should develop concern for individual and social well-being, and foster openmindedness and professionalism. Liberal Learning Courses (300-400; no pre-requisites; students must have completed sixty (60) credit hours): LL = Liberal Learning MLL = Liberal Learning course that incorporates the Multicultural/Global Perspectives component LE=Liberal Education (Effective Fall 2010 Catalog year) Focuses on a contemporary problem(s) or theme, gives consideration to multidisciplinary perception of the issue or theme, and aims to stimulate the intellectual life of the student. Missed Final Exams Only extraordinary circumstances warrant a student being allowed to make up a missed final examination. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the faculty member before the scheduled exam to request permission to take a makeup exam. In the process of determining whether a makeup exam should be allowed, the burden of proof is on the student. The faculty member has the right to request verification of any excuse offered by the student.
