5. Lonicera periclymenum 'Serotina'

Much admired in Europe, this fine selection of the Late Dutch Honeysuckle impressed us tremendously at the Boskoop Trials in Holland. More compact and slower growing than the species (and much earlier blooming), it produces an immense bounty of fragrant flowers from early summer well into fall. The crimson buds open to creamy white, yellow and dark red flowers, followed by translucent red fruit. Probably the most beautiful climber in the genus, it is excellent grown on trees, pergolas or fences, and ideal for screening. 1-Gallon Container.

Reaching up to 8 inches wide and suffused with rich cerise stripes against a background of blue-mauve, the plentiful blooms on this Clematis really pop! They are both larger and more profuse during their first season of bloom, but reappear faithfully in late season for another flush of color. The offspring of beloved favorites 'Nelly Moser' x 'Maureen,' this British introduction received the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticulture Society. Vigorous, free-flowering, and beautiful! Pruning Group II. 31/2 Inch Pot.
