Enkianthus campanulatus 'Showy Lantern' Clethra 'Ruby Spice' Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Just Dandy’
Elegant horizontal branching, abundant deep red-pink blooms, and brilliant orange to scarlet fall foliage distinguish this award-winning deciduous shrub. The bell-shaped flowers are delicately fragrant on this densely branched plant, banked by deep green foliage that extends down to the ground. Much more ornamental than the species, this very slow- growing clone was selected by the late Ed Mezitt of Weston Nurseries in Massachusetts. 1-quart container. Fine-textured foliage of dark green arises in compact sprays on this dense, rounded, relatively fastgrowing Dwarf Hinoki Cypress. A selected seedling of the classic ‘Nana Gracilis,’ it quickly forms a plump globe-shaped mound that makes an excellent addition to the rock garden, accent plantings, and containers. 1-gallon container.
(Syn. 'Golden Spring.') Magnificent color changes transform this shrub in both spring and fall. Shortly after a heavy showing of fragrant yellow blooms held in 1- to 2-inch pendulous clusters on bare branches, the new foliage emerges in orangeand rose-tinted shades of yellow. Quickly changing to bright yellow, it maintains its color well, particularly in sunnier aspects. By midsummer the leaves are chartreuse to pale green, only to turn golden and orange for autumn. As this shrub matures, its branching becomes more horizontal, creating an elegant layered effect. 1-quart container. Z 6-8 | late winter/early spring | part shade | H: 6', W: 6'

Cotoneaster apiculatus You just can't beat this dense, mounding shrub for 3 seasons of colorful interest! Its arching boughs are covered in rich, deep-green leaves, which reach down the ground and often root as they touch the soil. In spring, the entire plant comes alive with pink buds that open to pink-blushed white flowers held close against the reddish-purple stems. In late summer, hundreds of glossy crimson berries bring in the birds, persisting well into winter. And in fall, the foliage color takes on a wonderful mix of gold, bronze, scarlet, and plum. 1-gallon container. Z 5-8 | late summer/mid winter | sun/part shade H: 24-36", W: 3-6'
