March 20, 2013, marks the first day of Spring! The days are getting longer and the weather is feeling nicer. This season is full of things to do. A few activities that we enjoy are gardening, cleaning, Spring Break, going to baseball games, biking, walking, and taking trips to the zoo. Spring is the perfect time of year to get out and have some fun!
By: Kathi McInerney and Shari Rodriguez
It’s that time of year again! Time to open the windows and let in the fresh air! Time to break out the spray bottles, rags, brooms, dustpans and vacuums! It’s time for spring cleaning! My favorite cleaning scent is Lemon Fresh! It’s nice to have a clean house.
Spring Has Sprung!
By: Margaret Propoggio
Spring is the time to start gardening. I like to garden. Some vegetables that I would like to grow are tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers. Some flowers that I would like to grow are roses and lilies. Gardening is hard work, but it is fun and I enjoy it. It is nice to plant something in the soil and watch it grow into something beautiful!

I live Oak Lawn. The neighborhood is nice. There have been a lot of changes. Kmart and other businesses are gone now. It is cool to watch, but I am a little sad. I wonder what they will build next. I hope it is a mall or other shopping stores. What do you think?

SPORTS with John Dunleavy The Cubs are off to a bad start. What the Cubs need is their players to step up their game. On the other hand, the White Sox are doing pretty good; winning the home opener 1-0. The Men’s College Basketball season is over. March Madness was exciting to watch. The Louisville Cardinals are the champs. I think that’s great! The Blackhawks have a great team this year. I absolutely think they will make it to the cup without any injuries.

l have been working at trio restaurant since October 2012. l work Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 10:30 am to 2 pm. I clean the counters, wine racks, menus, tables and the bar area. I also roll silverware. I like working there because my coworkers are nice and friendly. It is a wonderful place to work. TOUR GROUP
By: Jawaher Ashkar
At Park Lawn, there is a new group with Kathy Marion and Stephanie Esparza. A group of five clients are tour guides. We show new people around so they can get to know Park Lawn and decide if they like it. I think it is a lot of fun! BEING NEW TO PARK LAWN
By: Andrew McGovern
My first day at Park lawn was January 16, 2013. I was a little nervous on my first day. Once you start talking with people you will feel more comfortable and come out of your shell. I like Park lawn. It is much neater and less congested than the last place that I worked at. My advice for all the new comers is: don’t be nervous; just relax, take a deep breath and you will be fine.
