PROTECTING & ORGANIZING YOUR EQUIPMENT By Jack Kenna, Rensselaer Paranormal Research and S.P.I.R.I.T.S. of New England
topic not often discussed with regards to paranormal equipment is how to keep it organized and protected between investigations. To most people this is a secondary thought over obtaining the equipment they need to conduct an investigation. But the truth is that keeping it organized and protected is just as important as having it, because you can have all of the best paranormal investigating equipment in the world, but if you can’t find it or it doesn’t work when you need it, then it’s worthless. I have been on many investigations and been to many paranormal locations with both seasoned investigators and beginners, and it never ceases to amaze me how many investigators I see pull out a small duffle bag, unzip it, and begin to pull out their Mel Meters, digital recorders, EMF meters, IR camcorders, cameras, etc. All of it just tossed into the bag together, no cushioning, no way to separate it, no way to protect it. I even remember having one person pull out their snacks and drinks from the same bag all just tossed in with their equipment, and after taking out their snack and drink just dropped the bag onto the floor. I cringed as I saw this and heard loud clanking of all the equipment bouncing off each other and off the floor as the bag hit the floor. All I could think was, “That’s the end of those electronics.” It turns out I wasn’t wrong, as later that night this same person was complaining to their friend that they couldn’t get their camera to work. Gee, I wonder why?! This was just one example. I have seen things like this, and worse, more times than I care to remember. I hate to sound like a parent, but if you’re not going to take care of your stuff, then don’t bother wasting your money on it.
The infamous black vest. It also looks unprofessional to show up at an investigation with a duffel bag full of broken equipment and/or you begin rummaging through the bag trying to find your camera or the batteries you know you bought but just can’t find buried in the pile of other stuff you have tossed into the bag. Things like searching for batteries or trying to fix damaged equipment also cost you valuable investigation time, not to mention money, as now you will either have to repair or replace the damaged equipment.
Figure 1 – The ZE-HC36 Hard Case The Zeikos medium hard case features reinforced construction, handle, two locking clasps, two dividers, and diced cut foam for easy customization. The Infamous Black Vest The other thing that I see a lot of investigators use is the infamous “black vest.” You know the one I’m talking about — the one with more pockets and compartments than a Marine going into combat could use. These vests can seem great, because they can hold just about every piece of equipment that you think of — and all right at arms-length if you need it. But once you have this vest packed with your Mel Meters, camera, video camera, laser, batteries, etc, this thing will weigh you down and turn your ghost hunt into a cardio workout. Also, these vests really don’t provide much protection for your equipment, as even the top-of-the-line ones aren’t well padded or waterproof, and the cheaper models are no better than the duffel bag. This is not to say that they don’t have their uses or necessities, such as for investigators/cameramen like Aaron Goodwin and Nick Groff of Ghost Adventures, who sometimes use them to carry their extra camera batteries, audio equipment, IR lights, etc., which they must have on hand during their investigations.
Yes, they do also use them to carry some of their investigation equipment, but only during the investigation; they don’t store their equipment in them. They keep all of their equipment in foam-filled, hard cases, most of which are watertight. But here again, these guys are not just paranormal investigators, they are also cameramen for the show. For them, vests like this are a necessity. As for the rest of us who aren’t filming a TV show, not so much. The Best Way to Organize and Protect Your Equipment So what is the best way to organize and protect your valuable paranormal equipment without having to spend an arm and a leg on those costly black pelican cases like you see the TV show guys use? There are actually a couple of great and affordable options for hard cases that will hold all of your equipment, keep it very organized for investigations, and protect it adequately when not using it. The first and what I personally believe to be the best option at a reasonable cost are the Zeikos ZE-

Equipment Update Suggestions for Soft Case Storage I understand that not everyone likes hard cases, and for a number of reasons. A few of our S.P.I.R.I.T.S. team don’t like using hard cases because they feel they are too bulky, too heavy, and too hard to store away in their homes. I do understand these concerns, so I do have a few suggestions for soft cases that will provide a reasonable amount of organization as well as protection. At left: Figure 3 – ACPRO1600 Soft Case. At right: Figure 4 – ACPRO4000 Backpack. The Ape Case Pro ACPRO1600 Case is a 20 x 12 x 8.5-inch soft case (see HC36 medium (18 x 13.5 x 6.5 inches) or ZE-HC52 large Figure 3), with 16 heavily (22.875 x 14.125 x 7.5 inches) aluminum hard cases, as padded, configurable compartments. It also contains a well as the Ape Case Jumbo ACHC5600 (17.5 x 12.125 x padded compartment designed especially to hold up to a 6 inches) or Ape Case Extra Large ACHC5700 (22.875 x 17-inch notebook/laptop. This case costs about $76, but is 14.375 x 7.25 inches) aluminum hard cases. a good equipment case for those who prefer a soft case. While all of these are hard cases, I feel they offer the If you have a lot of equipment like what I carry in my best equipment protection with customizable, diced foam large Zeikos case (see Figure 2), then I would suggest the interiors that allow you to fit your individual equipment Ape Case Pro ACPRO4000 Backpack with removable perfectly into the case for optimal organization and cushcart system (see Figure 4). Again this is a well-padded and ion protection. The price range for these cases is from rugged case that can also carry a large laptop and is easy $35 to $54 for the medium/jumbo cases up to $68 to to travel with and store away. This case costs around $147 $122 for the large/extra-large cases. I personally use both but is worth the expense to protect your equipment. the Zeikos medium and large cases to store and organize Now, just because I mentioned specific cases in this all of my equipment (see Figures 1 & 2). article, some of which I use myself, doesn’t mean I am I have owned these for three years now and have recommending that you buy these specific brands. Paranormal PROS: A Family Affair By Cheryl Knight
s the founder of Paranormal Research Organization of the Southeast (Paranormal PROS), based in South Carolina, Leitreanna Brown relies on her extensive background as a Reiki Master, Qigong Master, and long-time experience investigating the paranormal to help individuals throughout the paranormal field. In fact, she leverages her experiences as an Analytical Problem Solving trainer and a fourth-generation paranormal investigator in the many projects she handles. “Being a Reiki Master, a student of three different types of energy studies, is an advantage that I use extensively for paranormal studies and communication,” she says. The Paranormal PROS team includes Leitreanna’s husband, Matthew (founder), daughter, Mia, and son, Elijah. It also includes many other investigators, including Judy Terry, Tim Scott, Mat Palmiteer, Eddie Rodgers, Terri Bowers, David Bowers, Reverend David M. Biery, Brigette Destiny, Christopher Eaton, and Tony Zamberlin. Leitreanna currently works on a variety of projects, including hosting Family Spirit radio; writing a book about extreme paranormal cases; working as an exorcist and case manager with Reverend David M. Biery, the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Old Roman Catholic Church and Bishop Protector of the Holy Order of St. Michael the Exorcist; and working as a booking agent and event planner for Haunted Entertainment. “We are more like a family than a team. We are there for each other, and we trust each other,” says Leitreanna. “Please know that integrity and honor goes a long way in life. It makes life worth living, and it touches people’s hearts whether they are living or dead. You can make a difference to people should you choose this path.” Paranormal Underground recently spoke to Leitreanna about her paranormal experiences, her many projects, and Paranormal PROS. *****
Paranormal PROS founder Leitreanna Brown is a Reiki Master, Qigong Master, and long-time paranormal investigator. She also currently hosts Family Spirit Radio.

Q: When did you become interested in the paranormal and starting an investigative team? Leitreanna: I was born into a paranormal investigative family — I am fourth-generation paranormal investigator. My gifts and studies were always encouraged and guided. When I had a personal experience that piqued my interest in extreme hauntings, my interest intensified even more, and I dove into more studies and personal growth and exercise. When my husband and I married and he shared with me his extremely violent haunting episodes he endured as a child, we decided to move forward with our group to help those who need help and cannot talk to anyone about such haunted activity. We formed our team in 2007 and are committed to resolving issues and helping our clients.

After a complete and thorough investigation, all findings are presented with a complete explanation as to what was found. We do everything we can to educate, support, and facilitate our clients with dealing with these findings. If a removal is requested and we as a group are unsuccessful, we will find someone who can help. Copies of all findings are provided to our clients. Q: Tell us about your paranormal experiences.
Leitreanna: My personal paranormal experiences have been vast. I often see and hear spirits. It isn’t a constant state of mind, but my family and I do have these abilities. We appreciate being able to bring peace and love to spirits that are living history. I believe what we do helps spirits with the grieving process, in turn healing them, and bless everyone involved. Q: What different types of locations have you investigated? Leitreanna: Some of my favorite haunted locations include the Bullock Mansion in Roswell, Georgia; Native American burial ground on the boarder of SC and NC; a family farm house in South Carolina that had a lovely little lady ghost and her precious husband that were lovely hosts; the underground tunnels of Paris; Normandy Beach in France; and my husband’s former residence, a p lace that is horrifying. Q: What equipment do you usually take with you on an investigation, and what methodologies do you use in the field? Leitreanna: Our equipment list is constantly improving. We utilize a wide variety of equipment, including the following tools: •Point-and-shoot digital cameras, PC voice recorders, digital thermometers, video cameras, and high-end film camera •Low-light DVR cameras with videos and photos
Q: What is the most important part of a paranormal investigation? Leitreanna: The most important part of an investigation is organization before the case. If a group goes into a case without being organized, the evidence can become contaminated, hotspots can be missed, research can be over looked, and the entire case can be blown. Equipment does not make a group great; how well equipment is used is much more important. Q: How valuable is teamwork during an investigation? Leitreanna: Teamwork is essential to an investigation. Teamwork during EVP sessions keeps the investigators from stepping on each other’s words and on any evidence gathered. Teamwork also keeps everyone safe, keeps all equipment gathered and stored properly, keeps evidence organized, helps evidence be reviewed, and helps the client feel pleased with the overall performance of the team. Without courtesy and teamwork, a paranormal team will not prosper and will eventually fall apart during an investigation; furthermore, it will cease to exist. Q: What case will you remember the most and why? Leitreanna: The case I will remember most is the Aldrich/Merritt Home that was featured on My Ghost Story for the spring 2013 Season Premiere (first or second show). The entire Aldrich family still inhabits their home.
Within the pages of “The Harvey Boat,” Spiritual Medium Robyne Marie tells the story given to her from “behind the veil,” after connecting with a spirit who passed away on 9/11. The spirit asked for his powerful, touching, and heartfelt message to be shared with “the children,” so Robyne Marie set out to make this request a reality.

Investigator Spotlight Leitreanna: I absolutely love Andrea Perron’s writing and perception of the paranormal world. I know her well and love her dearly. I also admire John Zaffis’ work and his attitude to helping people in our field. Luckily, I had John on my radio show, Family Spirit, and have had the chance to thank him personally for his contribution to the field. I also enjoy Barry Fitzgerald’s writing and investigative techniques. He has been on my show as well, and I have the good fortune of speaking with him often. I appreciate his work. We are fortunate to have such pioneers in our field. Q: What sites do you want to investigate? Leitreanna: Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, PA. I would like to go back to St. Augustine, Florida, with all my new equipment — I originally went as a child using old school methods. I would also like to go to Leap Castle in Offaly, Ireland, and Chateau de Fountainebleau in France. Q: Talk about your radio shows Family Spirit and A Haunted Life.
Leitreanna and the Paranormal PROS approach each investigation with respect ... and a detailed plan.
The beauty and history of the home will always have a place in my heart. Q: What is the most compelling evidence of the paranormal that you’ve personally captured? Leitreanna: The most compelling evidence of the paranormal that I have personally captured was when a cat was drug to me by its tail and flung into my lap by a negative entity. The cat was terrified. The Ovilus said for me to “kill it.” Q: Talk about common misconceptions about the paranormal field that you’ve encountered? Leitreanna: The worst misconception about the paranormal field that I have encountered is that we are disrespectful to the dead. Nothing could be further from the truth. Paranormal PROS and Family Spirit humbles themselves and goes to extremes to honor and show respect to those who have passed on and to give them a chance to communicate again after so many years. Q: Whose work in the paranormal field do you respect the most and why?
Leitreanna: Family Spirit is a show that I host alone and I publish on World TV, Google TV, YouTube, and will be hosting on my network (with Archbishop David Biery) Alpha Omega Films and TV. I interview famous paranormal authors, investigators, and demonologists, along with featuring my investigations and team members. One of my most popular shows was with Mark Phillips of My Ghost Story that went Viral with over 3 million views on YouTube alone. A Haunted Life is Haunted Entertainment’s radio show hosted by Dan Guthrie. Cass Starr and I cohost every Sunday on Z Talk Radio. Q: What words of wisdom would you offer amateur ghost hunters investigating for the first time? Leitreanna: There are such things as ghosts, so please don’t scare yourself and get hurt or damage property. It takes time to season yourselves to react in a calm and reasonable manner to unseen yet intellectual beings that exist in our world. Do not go out looking for ghosts while drinking or doing drugs. You must remain safe, in control, and professional so that you can react in a proper manner. Please respect your clients and the locations you investigate. Have a plan, and take care of each other as a team and as a family. The paranormal world isn’t a roller coaster adrenaline rush for fun; it can be dangerous. Please know these responsibilities going into an investigation and accept these terms upfront and in a mature and responsible manner.

By Cheryl Knight
n 2009, Daniel Kaempf formed the Spirit Research Team in Leipzig, Germany. His mission included finding evidence that life exists after death. Daniel recently talked with Paranormal Underground about his team’s work in the field.
Q: What interests you most about the paranormal?
Daniel: I am most interested in finding evidence that supports life after death.
Q: Tell us about yourself. Daniel: I’m 27 years old, and I work in the security industry. I have a daughter who is four years old, and I have been a fan of Locomotive Leipzig for many years. I have been interested in paranormal phenomena for more than seven years. Q: Describe your paranormal group and its mission. Daniel: Spirit Research Team in Leipzig/East team members include Daniel Franke, Rene Fetgenhauer, Susanne Schickedanz, and David Krombholz. We want to find out, using science and technology, if there is life after death. This question is as old as mankind. We hope to find answers through our investigations. Q: Tell us about your paranormal experiences.
Daniel: My first personal experience was during an investigation with my team in an old prison. While walking down the passage to the cells, I heard a girl’s voice say to me, “Come here.” We also have collected EVPs.
Q: What different types of locations have you investigated? Daniel: We have investigated castles, hospital, and old hotels, among other locations. Q: What equipment do you usually take with you on an investigation? Daniel: We use audio recorders to collect EVPs, electromagnetic meters, night shot camera and video, 360-degree lasers, and much more. But we also work a lot with human impressions. Q: What methodologies do you use during investigations?
Pictured on the previous page are Spirit Research Team in Leipzig/East team members Daniel Franke, Rene Fetgenhauer, Daniel Kaempf, Susanne Schickedanz, and David Krombholz.
Daniel: We consult, install cameras, talk a lot, and sit in total darkness. We examine a place many times before we compile our final result. Q: What is the most important part of a paranormal investigation? Daniel: For us the most important part of the investigation is the EVP recording. It usually gives the best results. Q: What case will you remember the most and why? Daniel: It was the investigation in the old prison that I mentioned earlier. It was my first paranormal experience. Q: What is the most compelling evidence of the paranormal that you or your team has captured? Daniel: The best evidence so far includes EVPs and a photo with a black shadow.
Q: Talk about common misconceptions about the paranormal field that you’ve encountered? Daniel: There are many misconceptions. The most common is that when we meet people and tell them what we do, they think we operate like the movie Ghostbusters. Q: Whose work in the paranormal field do you respect the most and why? Daniel: We work with and respect E.P.A.S. from Italy. We have put together a network throughout Europe. Q: What sites do you have on your wish list to investigate? Daniel: I would like to investigate Alcatraz. Q: What words of wisdom would you offer amateur ghost hunters investigating for the first time? Daniel: Never give up, and never lose faith! Only those who explore the supernatural can understand it!

Physiological Pathways & Psychic Abilities By Jill Marie Morris, www.jillmariemorris.com
y conducting research in the form of personal interviews and questionnaires over the past 10 years, I have noted that certain cardiovascular issues, such as high/low blood pressure, conduction issues (irregular heartbeat), congenital birth defects affecting the heart and/or vascular system structures (i.e., Atrial Septal Defects — ASD, Patent Foramen Ovale — PFO, highgrade stenosis or obstructions), valve prolapse, and even Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), pose an interesting scenario when it comes to a correlation with psychic abilities. The commonalities between them have to do with the fact that they have an adverse impact on blood flow, whether to the heart and/or brain. These conditions can directly impact the element of oxygenation in the blood, meaning that poorly oxygenated blood in itself can cause its own unique set of problems. Sleep apnea also factors in. Sleep apnea can be caused by obesity; structural defects of the throat, mouth, shape of head, and neck; or issues involving obstruction of airflow into the lungs. What makes sleep apnea so dangerous is the lack of adequate airflow into the lungs during sleep, resulting in decreased blood oxygen levels. When those levels plummet to dangerous levels, the body responds by releasing chemicals and hormones, which trigger other responses, inclusive of elevated blood pressure and heart rate. The results could lead to stroke, heart attack, an arrhythmia, or even cardiac arrest/heart failure. At times, there may also be a structural element involved, in which case the individual may not have an actual cardiovascular issue, but may suffer from restriction of blood flow due to body position, a growth/tumor, or other condition that directly impedes or slows down circulation. This type of problem is a bit more difficult to factor into my research, as most often people are not aware they have something going on until well after an event or illness has made it suspect. Regardless, for sake of this independent research project, please note that to date no individual has
fit into this category, as they primarily fall into the former cardiovascular and/or sleep apnea ailment group. Each one of these problems impede the mechanical and physiological functions of the heart and brain. Some of these issues can cause an individual to tire more easily with the stress of the heart not functioning properly. The same would apply to medical problems affecting the blood flow, or oxygenation of the blood. Characteristic of those who have sleep apnea, individuals will wake up with headaches, feelings of excessive fatigue although they have slept (daytime sleepiness), irritability, night sweats, chest discomfort, nausea, and swelling of the legs. A Correlation Between Cardiovascular Issues, Sleep Apnea, and Psychic Abilities Perhaps the strongest correlation between cardiovascular issues, sleep apnea, and psychic abilities comes into
play while the individual is asleep. Drawing from personal experience due to having an ASD myself (repaired via open heart surgery in 2006), in addition to education and work experience, a direct reference was noted between dream premonitions and visions, and the above-mentioned medical issues. Normally, when a person goes to sleep, respiration and heart rate tend to decrease. Additionally, the blood pressure tends to decrease. Each aspect impacts the overall cardiovascular function of the body, as it, under the best circumstances, will be relaxed. In other words, common sense; the body at rest tends to be much less stressed — unless there is an underlying problem. When one factors in cardiovascular problems and/or sleep apnea as stated above, a potentially dangerous situation is created within the body. Pressures can rise or drop to unsafe levels, dangerous arrhythmias can occur, and the brain can become deprived of oxygenated blood. Without trying to cause panic, each one of these factors can lead to death, whether by stroke or heart attack, respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest (or heart failure) during sleep. Even with medication and/or use of CPAP/BiPAP equipment, these issues need be monitored and evaluated by a licensed physician or healthcare professional for continued treatment in order to decrease the chances of this occurring. “Sleep Induced Near-Death Experience” Theory As discussed, persons who have one, or a combination of the outlined medical problems, genuinely struggle during the sleep cycle, more so than people who do not. With every sleep cycle, the body is skating unknowingly close to death. The brain, however, although decreased in
function due to lack of oxygen, is able to transcend into a completely different realm due to the physiological conditions that occur at the times most closest to the life/death line. Personal reference to this theory has been deemed “sleep-induced, near-death experience.” This suspended state of the body, which teeters very close to death, makes someone more susceptible for visions and/or dreams. One could equate the sleep-induced near-death experience as entering a completely different level of brain function and unconscious state of awareness, much like those documented in a near-death experience who were cognizant, alert, and oriented when they suffered a crisis and later pulled through. Close enough to relax their minds to this physical and physiological state, the brain functions while the body fights to keep itself alive. It is suspect that some type of portal may be opened at those very minutes that a person comes close to that threshold of clinging to life during sleep. Unfortunately, there are individuals who cross that very fine threshold and die in their sleep. Many have come to agree that this theory does make sense. Doctors and other scientists may be able to draw more specific, scientific conclusions based upon evidence during sleep studies and other technologies and tests used to diagnose and treat cardiovascular and sleep apnea disorders. Quite startling is the fact that 89% of people surveyed who have demonstrated abilities have a documented history of cardiovascular and/or sleep apnea disorders. That is quite remarkable and certainly food for thought. As always, consult your physician or healthcare provider for medical advice and follow their orders.

Case Files Of The Unknown: Haunted Sites
The Haunting at: Old South Pittsburg Hospital By Jenny Gurney, Proximity Paranormal
he Old South Pittsburg Hospital is considered by many to be one of the most haunted locations in Tennessee. This particular structure is located at what many refer to as the “Foothill” of the South Pittsburg Mountain in the State of Tennessee. Old South Pittsburgh Hospital is known as one of a few paranormal research centers in the United States. Site History In the year 1959, four medical professionals founded the facility and named it the South Pittsburg Municipal Hospital, or SPMH for short. It consisted of a total of 68,000 square feet and was designed to meet the medical care needs of the growing community. Many physical additions were constructed throughout the next several decades. Unfortunately, the long-serving nonprofit hospital quietly closed its doors in 1998. Since then, it has been labeled as one of the most haunted places in Tennessee and in the country as a whole. In order to truly appreciate the paranormal activity associated with this haunted hospital, it is first important to learn a little information pertaining to the history of the land where the facility currently stands. One of the most distinctive characteristics about the property is that there is a natural-based spring that runs underneath the property. It runs directly into the Northwest region of the Tennessee River. In its earliest days, the City of South Pittsburg was referred to as “Pittsburg Landing.” Many historians have reported that there was a ferry located approximately one-eighth of a mile from the hospital’s grounds that transported soldiers from the North and the South to the region so that they could make their way to the popular battlefield known as the “Chickamauga.” In 1778, a special tribe identified as the “Chiaha” used the land where the haunted hospital now stands for
living and engaging in day-to-day activities that enhanced their survival. Examples of these activities included growing extravagant orchards, hunting for various types of animals native to the region, and fishing. During the Civil War era, the tribe permitted the soldiers from the North to use a section of land that is now behind the Old South Pittsburg Hospital to store various supplies such as artillery. However, the soldiers of the South eventually invaded the region and launched assaults on the Union soldiers. As a result, many Union members, individuals of the tribe, and even Indians in the Cherokee Tribe died, and the Confederate soldiers emerged victorious. Many believe that these deaths contribute to the land’s haunted reputation. By the end of the hot summer of 1863, the Union soldiers successfully reclaimed the land until the end of the Civil War. Despite this, many individuals residing in the community experienced numerous hardships because many soldiers took the livestock that they raised, the
foods that they stored, items that could be used for first-aid purposes, and other types of necessities. It was then that the residents realized they could experience a high level of fortune by selling the various types of minerals native to the region, as well as the limestone heavily present in the geography of the area. Not that long after experiencing success in this endeavor, the railway came to the region and offered more opportunities for the area. However, the land still retained the devastating memories of war, homicide, death, and destruction. It is because of this that many believe the land where the Old South Pittsburg Hospital sits is considered to be one of the most haunted places in Tennessee. Founded in 1959, the South Pittsburg Municipal Hospital consisted of

Warrior Thiess of Livonia and the Werewolf Trials
By Jill Stefko, Ph.D., Suite 101 Contributing Writer
uring the 1600s, there were 18 trials during which 31 people were accused of being werewolves in Livonia, now part of Estonia, in Baltic Europe. In 1692, the Catholic Inquisition put 80-year-old Thiess, known by his singular name, on trial for idolatry and the belief that he was a werewolf. The sensational trial was held in Jürgensburg, Livonia. His confessions astounded the judges. Was he suffering from lycanthropy? Case Files Of The Unknown: Cryptids & Mythological Creatures There were 18 trials in which 18 women and 13 men were accused of damaging property and killing animals and people in lupine form. Victims were tortured until they confessed that they made a pact with the Devil. The church wanted the public to associate magic and Pagan customs with the devil. The Catholic church failed, so the Protestant church tried. The Unitas Fratrum, now known as the Moravians, was founded in 1457; the Lutheran church’s roots were in 1517. As late as 1696, a pack of werewolves was believed to exist in Vastemoisa, led by Libbe Matz. The last trial of sorcery was held in Harju County in 1816, when farmer Jacob, his wife, Anna, and four others were accused of trying to track thieves using magic. The accused were whipped for committing fraud that enticed superstition and ignorance. The First Convicted European Werewolf and the Definition of Lycanthropy Peter Stubbe was the first recorded European werewolf. He was also called the Werewolf of Bedburg. His trial was held in Germany, and he confessed to 16 atrocious murders. He said that after he killed his victims, he drank their blood and ate their flesh. In 1589, Stubbe was
tortured, decapitated, and his body burned. There is a form of a psychiatric disorder, called lycanthropy, in which people fall under the delusion that they are werewolves. The November 1975 issue of The Canadian Psychiatric Association Journal reported several cases of lycanthropy. The following cases use pseudonyms.
Peter Stubbe was the first recorded European werewolf. He was called the Werewolf of Bedburg. Harry was convinced he was a werewolf. While he was enlisted in the U.S. Army, stationed in Europe, he walked into a forest near his post and took LSD and strychnine. He claimed to have seen fur growing on his hands and felt it on his face. He was compelled to eat live rabbits. His delusional state lasted for several days. A tranquilizer was prescribed, and he entered into therapy for about nine months, during which he exhibited psychotic behavior. He was given an antipsychotic drug. After he improved, he was referred to an outpatient clinic. He stopped taking the medication and quit treatment. Wally was admitted to a hospital after repeated displays of bizarre lycanthropic behavior. He had no history of substance abuse. He was diagnosed as psychotic and intellectually challenged. Doctors performed a brain biopsy because of his increasing dementia. There was an abnormal physiological deterioration of his cerebral tissue. The diagnosis was chronic brain syndrome of unknown origin. When he was prescribed antipsychotic meds, he showed no further symptoms of lycanthropy. Is it possible that medieval werewolves were victims of the superstitious beliefs and hysteria of their times, as witches were? Perhaps, the werewolves suffered from lycanthropy. Another theory is that some werewolves are cryptids, unknown mysterious animals, as evidenced by Wisconsin’s Wolf of Bray Road and the Beast of Gevaudan, which terrorized the French countryside from July 1764 until it was finally killed by Jean Chastel, who believed the beast was a loup-garou, a werewolf, in June 1767, by shooting it twice with silver bullets.

Case Files Of The Unknown: Are We Alone?
The Aurora, Texas, UFO Incident By Rick E. Hale, Foundations Psychical Research
n a recent edition of Paranormal Underground Radio, I had the honor and the privilege of speaking to the great Ufologist Stanton Friedman. He was the first civilian to investigate the crash of an alien spacecraft at Roswell, New Mexico. So in honor of that I thought that I would write about a lesser known, but just as important, crash of an alien spacecraft in Texas: the Aurora crash. Throughout the 1890s, citizens all across the country were claiming to see strange cigar-shaped flying machines in the skies over American cities. Some eyewitnesses even claimed to have had contact with the pilots, who were reported as being completely human and others ... not so much. But the people of Aurora, Texas, a small farming community, claimed to have come into contact with one of these strange flying machines and its dead pilot. A Crashed UFO The story first came to light on April 19, 1897, after an airship crash landed on the property of Judge J.S. Proctor. The ship completely obliterated the Judge’s prized windmill. S. E. Haydon, the man who wrote the story for The Dallas Morning News, claimed in the article that the citizens of Aurora discovered the dead body of the airship’s pilot, who was anything but human. A local Army officer reportedly called the pilot a “Martian.” After cleaning up the wreckage, the body of the pilot was buried in the Aurora Cemetery with full Christian rites. The newspaper article (see image at right) began by reporting: About 6 o’clock this morning the early risers of Aurora were astonished at the sudden appearance of the airship which has been sailing through the country. It was traveling due north, and much nearer the earth than before.
Original newspaper article describing the incident, by S. E. Haydon, as published in The Dallas Morning News April 19, 1897, edition on p. 5.
After the funeral, the wreckage was thrown down a well on Judge Proctor’s property and presumably forgotten about. Fast forward to 1945. Farmer Brawley Oates bought the property of J.S. Proctor. Oates wanted to set up his own little slice of Heaven on Earth in Aurora; the only problem he faced was the crucial need for a water source. And that’s when he found the well.
crash, the town was on a serious decline. Fires, failed crops, an outbreak of spotted fever, and a failed railroad project was killing the town. Brammer claimed that Haydon, the reporter who wrote the story, faked the whole thing to try and save the town. She also claimed that Haydon was a yellow journalist, and she said that although Judge Proctor was a real person, the windmill and the well never existed. Case closed, right? Well actually, no. According to the TV show UFO Hunters, they actually discovered the well on the property of J.S. Proctor and the remnants of a windmill. Does this constitute hard evidence? Not really, considering that the crash debris is reportedly no longer in existence and no one has ever discovered the body an extraterrestrial laying in the sweet embrace of death in the local cemetery. Produce this supposed Martian, and then we’ll talk. As for the hoax, I have one question. Why would anyone want to bring tourism into a town that was slowly dying a horrible death from famine and a horrible disease that could kill you? It seems unlikely; but it also seems unlikely that a wooden windmill could bring down something that was designed to endure the rigors of intergalactic spaceflight.
In 1897, an airship crash landed on the property of Judge J.S. Proctor.
Tainted Well Water Oates cleared out some strange metal debris from the well thinking he would have a viable water source for crops and drinking. He could not have been more wrong. Over time the farmer developed a debilitating form of arthritis that essentially crippled him. When Oates considered the odd debris that he cleaned out of the well, he came to the conclusion that his condition was caused by tainted well water. In 1957, Oates covered up the well with a cement slab and shortly after that succumbed to his condition and passed away. Was it All a Hoax? As with any epic tale of crashed spacecraft, there was an individual who took it upon themselves to try and disprove the story: a former mayor of Aurora, Barbara Brammer. The mayor discovered that at the time of the

Ghosts of Five Celebrated Hollywood Actors By Jill Stefko, Ph.D., Suite 101 Contributing Writer
elles, Webb, Chaney Sr., Clift, and Valentino were renowned actors in their glory days. Which one, without intent, created a paranormal hoax? Who is the busiest ghost? Which one inspired horror in life? Who was a chain smoker and, as a ghost, leaves evidence of his habit? Whose ghost haunts a hotel? Orson Welles Orson Welles is considered to be one of Hollywood’s best directors, writers, actors, and producers. His most memorable film was Citizen Kane (1941), a commercial failure that lost $150,000. But the movie is esteemed by many as the best film ever made. He won an Oscar for best writing and was nominated for the best actor, but lost. Welles’ most memorable escapade was his Halloween treat, an unplanned paranormal hoax, “War of the Worlds” radio broadcast about Martian attacks, which created mass panic. The October 30, 1938, broadcast sounded like a regular radio program with interruptions of simulated news bulletins. Some of the audience either missed or didn’t pay attention to several announcements that the program was a fictional presentation of H. G. Wells’ book by the same name. People panicked because they thought there was a real invasion. Welles loved to eat and smoked cigars. He died October 10, 1985. His spirit continues to be sighted in Sweet Lady Jane’s Restaurant, known for its excellent food and sumptuous deserts. Customers and staff reported seeing Welles’ caped specter sitting at his favorite table. The scent of his favorite brandy and cigars often accompany his ghost.
Clifton Webb A popular star in the 1940s and ’50s, Clifton Webb is known best for his role of Mr. Belvedere in a series of movies. He died in 1966 from heart disease. He never married and shared his home with his mother until she died. He claimed her ghost visited him every night. Webb told his friends that he would haunt the house after he died. His wraith has been sighted in the home’s library muttering, “Well, well, well ...,” one of his favorite phrases. Webb was a chain-smoker, and several non-smokers claimed to have awakened in his old house covered by ashes. He didn’t like women sitting in his armchair, and reportedly, when a female sits on the chair now, it makes noises and bounces. Webb’s ghost has also been seen at the Abbey of the Psalms Mausoleum in the Hollywood Forever Memorial Park, where his body rests. Montgomery Clift Montgomery Clift was a popular film star of the 1950s and ’60s. He was a four-time Oscar-nominated actor who is best known for his roles in A Place in the Sun, From Here to Eternity, and Judgment at Nuremberg. His spirit has been seen at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, most often in Room 928. It was here that he spent three months in 1953 where he was known to pace back and forth, memorizing his lines for From Here to Eternity. Today, unexplained loud noises are often heard coming from the otherwise empty suite, the phone is continually found to be off the hook, and unexplainable
cold spots are felt in the room. Others sense the actor’s presence, and one guest reportedly felt an invisible hand patting her on the shoulder. Lon Chaney, Sr. Like Webb, Chaney, Sr. was a star of the silent screen era. He is best remembered as the pioneer actor of horror films. Chaney died in 1930, and his ghost is said to haunt Sound Stage 28, used to film Phantom of the Opera, in Universal Studios. Chaney’s specter, clad in a cape, has been sighted running along the catwalks above the stage. Some people believe that his spirit is responsible for other paranormal phenomena, including lights turning on and off and doors opening and closing by themselves. Rudolph Valentino The actor, best known for his role in The Sheik, was the supreme romantic idol of the silent screen era. He died suddenly in 1926 from blood poisoning. Immediately after his death, his ghost was reportedly haunting various places. His specter is most often seen at his home, the Falcon’s
Lair. His phantom has been sighted in hallways, his old bedroom, peering from a window on the second floor, and in the stables. A stable worker, after having seen Valentino’s ghost petting his favorite horse, quit his job and never returned. His ghost has also been sighted in haunted Paramount Studios, on the catwalks above studio 5, in the costume department, and walking through the Lemon Grove Gate. Valentino’s wraith haunts his beach house in Oxnard, the Santa Maria Inn, and near the Cathedral Mausoleum in the Hollywood Forever Memorial Park. The actor bought the cat’s eye ring in San Francisco’s Chinatown, and the shopkeeper told him it was a ring of destiny. Valentino told people it was his lucky ring. He was wearing it when he died. The ring was bequeathed to Russ Columbo, who was killed in a car accident shortly after he received it. Jack Dunn was chosen to play Valentino in a film based on the idol’s life, and he wore the ring. He died from a blood disease 10 days later.

Demonology — The Dark Files
How to Recognize an Incubus & Succubus Attack By Bishop Jerry Williams, Eastside Paranormal Society & Demonologist
here is something I want to discuss this month, and it involves the increasing number of incubus and succubus attacks. I have had over 356 of these cases in three years, which illustrates how popular they are getting. Compare that number to my investigations of this nature during 2010, which fell at 49, and you can see the dramatic increase. So just what is going on? Let me first explain the incubus and succubus and what type of demon they are. This demon will prey upon females and males by tricking them into a dream state of a sexual experience where the incubus/succubus will take the sperm from the male and impregnate a female to try to make a half human half demon baby or child. Long exposure to an incubus/succubus will cause damage to a person’s health and even death may occur. The incubus and succubus are the easiest demons to get rid of. While it could take some time to get rid of them, they will leave once they are exposed. The Signs of an Attack The attacks start out by an individual seeing images of a ghost or possibly a spouse who has passed away. Then the incubus or succubus will start to physically attack the victim by grasping or grabbing them in their private areas. The demon will continue tricking the person into thinking it’s just a dream. Once this begins, sexual intercourse will be the final step of the attack, which can happen days, weeks, or months into the attacks. The victim will sometimes begin to feel like they are awake while this is happening to them. I have seen
many attacks on females by these demons, because they are looking for women who have lost a lover or spouse. These types of individuals are easy targets to them. Another sign that an attack is happening is that the person also begins hearing loud noises like banging on the walls, voices, whispering in the ears, being held down, and not being able to move like they are restrained but nothing is there. There are many different signs, but one main sign is a foul smell of dead flesh or sulfur. Another common question I get in these cases concerns wet dreams. They could be explained medically, but they can also be a sign of an incubus/succubus attack. Also, females who cannot have children because of a medical procedure are not safe from these attacks. In fact, these individuals are their primary target, because they like to prove you can become pregnant through them. Incubi and succubi like to hide in dark moist places like attics or basements. These areas are considered their housing area or nest. Let me be clear. The demon is both male and female
The demon is both male and female and can compose itself or shift into either one.
and can compose itself or shift into either one. These are not two different demons. Handling an Incubus/Succubus Attack If you think you have an incubus/succubus in your home, you should contact a demonologist immediately. Do not handle it yourself; this would be dangerous because the demon is close to you. Once the demonologist comes in, they will investigate all possibilities of an incubus/succubus — or if it is something else. In my experience, a minister will begin a blessing of the home reading Ephesians 10 and Psalms 91-93 three times. Holy water is used, and sea salt is sprinkled around the bedroom doorways and around the bed. I have to say at this point that I seen some individuals fake an attack because they have become pregnant but can’t seem to tell their spouse or mate that it is another person’s child. So, instead, they make a story up to say it was something else. Something unknown. If this is the case, it will be quickly debunked by an experienced
demonologist. Another word of warning. Some people ask for a demon to come to them and become their lover. This is extremely dangerous, and the demon will become jealous if the person then tries to find another lover. The demon may even cause death upon that person because they are extremely jealous. So, think before you do is my motto. I hope this discussion can help those out there dealing with or wondering about how to recognize an incubus and succubus attack. Can You Be Harmed By Spirits? By Dustin Baker, Author, “Local Legends and Hauntings of the Midwest”
an spirits harm you? I have been asked this question more times than I can count. There isn’t an easy answer to the question, but maybe I can add a little clarity. First off, you need to realize there is more than one type of spirit. In the majority of localized hauntings, the spirit is trapped there due to some dramatic and sudden death. A spirit can often times not even realize they are dead. Their presence sticks around because they have some unfinished business to attend to. With this type of haunting, as long as the person wasn’t a bitter drunk that liked to beat his wife and kids, or something along those lines, you have nothing to fear. If any interaction between the presence and you occur, it is likely the result of one or two things. One is curiosity. If you are doing a paranormal investigation, you are someone new to their territory. Remember, they are trapped in this location. Another explanation is that the spirit is seeking assistance. Whether it’s a lost property deed that needs to be uncovered or a letter left for a loved one, a spirit often sticks around until these things are found. The next type of spirit is a demon. Demons are usually found where Satanic worship or other occult activities have occurred and a gate to the other side was left open. This allows a demonic presence to come through. Unlike the spirit of a loved one that has passed, a demonic presence can be very harmful. From scratching and hitting you to similar symptoms of going mentally insane have been reported. Demons are generally not a localized haunting. Most often, if you move or try to run away from the demonic presence, it will follow your wherever you go. An exorcism is needed the majority of the time to expel the demon.
Spirits can harm you intentionally or unintentionally. Make sure to take all safety precautions while on an investigation. Never investigate alone!
So, whether it’s a haunted farm house, hospital, or hotel, the location plays a minimal role. One instance where the location would come into play would be an insane asylum for instance. A spirit seems to have the same mindset in the afterlife as they did when they were living. So if a spirit was an insane asylum patient, chances are you could still be in danger, even though it is in no way demonically related. Remember the bitter drunk example? The best thing you can do to stay safe if investigating or even just peering around, do your research. A little extra time on research can make the difference between having a successful and exciting ghost hunting adventure or walking into Hell on Earth.

Inside the Psychic Mind
The Advantage of Having Friends From the Other Side By William Becker, Paranormal Insights & Northwest Ghost Tours
here are many reasons why I am grateful that I have allowed my abilities as a psychic to come to the fore and continue to grow. One of those reasons is the nature of the relationships I have made with so many of the usually unseen beings around us. I don’t want to use the term ghost, because that implies a specific image to many. The beings I meet are of many varieties. Mostly they seem to be part of the personality, intellect, and/or consciousness of people that manifested themselves in the location during the person’s life. Many are of other, non-human (this does not mean demonic!) natures and forms, and some are visiting souls that come back as tourists, visitors, or to communicate with others here — for a variety of reasons. Meeting Paranormal Entities By this time, I’ve probably experienced well over a thousand paranormal entities of various forms. At no time have I encountered anything that I would consider to be a trapped soul or demonic. Mostly, I think the concept of trapped souls comes from our cultural and religious shaping and our individual desire to feel like we can and are helping beings on some vital level. I know many others will disagree with this concept, and I certainly respect their opinions as just as valid as my own. Mine come from my own research, experience, and understanding. But I digress for the matter of some clarity ... I may address this issue further in a future article. Getting back to my original statement of gratitude, I am very fortunate to have a number of human and paranormal friends in my life. So many of the living human ones have given so much love, support, friendship, joy, and much more to me over the years. But the human friends all have one thing in common. They all have lives
I am very fortunate to have a number of human and paranormal friends in my life.
(imagine that) other than being at my beck and call. Part of the joy of the living is that life and relationship are fluid, with people’s needs and abilities changing with the circumstances in life. That means that no matter how much I care about a friend, or they care about me and want to give support, it’s impossible for us to always be able to give to the other what they need. With my paranormal friends, the relationships are a bit different. They don’ have the same state of flux. I think in large part that is because they are here in more limited and singularly focused ways. This means that they can be more consistent with me, as I can be more consistent with them. I am more certain of who will be around and who won’t be for different reasons. And as I can visit them remotely, it is easier to find some company at times when the living are busy with family or have the audacity to sleep while I toss and turn in bed!
Paranormal Insights The paranormal entities can also give me different insights. They have assisted me in so many ways with my own path in life. And they have shown me more about the misunderstandings that those of use called living often have with the other. I was given a glimpse of that today while meditating, thinking, and listening in a very haunted local park. I have encountered nonhuman entities there in the past. Today they showed me a bit of why humans often think of non-human beings as demonic. Living humans in history, as well as the present, have so often labeled anything they don’t understand or that doesn’t take human form as demonic. Spiritual and physical warfare has often occurred during which the Christian, as well as other particularly monotheistic religions, have attempted to destroy, drive out, or otherwise silence the other beings in a location, or those that visit from other realms. These beings can then fight back. Sometimes they become naturally aggressive because
of the history of attacks and slander against them. This behavior can then often be claimed as evidence of the demonic, when it’s really only about protection of self and space. The park I was in seems to have been part of the property of one of the early pioneer ministers of the area, or at least his close family. These beings usually open up, or at least don’t show aggressive behavior to me, I think because I don’t make assumptions about them. I don’t consider them evil. I don’t consider them less than. They know they are safe with me, and I feel safe with them. I am consistently more wary of the living humans in dark and foreboding locations then I am of the non-human and dead! In no way do the paranormal entities I spend time with replace the living humans that I love and value so very much. But, these “unseen” beings add a richness, support, conversation, and understanding that I don’t always get from the living. I’m so very blessed to be able to participate in both worlds!
Beings usually open up, because I don’t make assumptions about them.

Inside the Psychic Mind
Developing Your Psychic Abilities By Jackie Chin, http://psychicconnextions.blogspot.com/
healthy interest in learning how to manipulate psychic ability has its own rewards. Learning how to expand your consciousness while reaching out to your spiritual side allows for personal and social development. Whenever you learn more about a different topic, your brain develops synapse (little sparks of energy) to literally help your brain develop. When you learn a new topic, it also opens your social range and allows you to discuss things that you have in common. Is the topic of psychic development for everyone? No; however, it can lead to many interesting paths. Where you obtain your information is extremely important. If you are fortunate enough to have someone in your immediate family to help you through the initial twists and turns of psychic awareness, this is most recommended. If not someone in your family, there are a lot of people out there who claim to have psychic ability; however, it is very important before you decide to pick someone to emulate that you first research who they are and what they have done for their community and their clients. If they are on the level, there will be plenty of information and perhaps even a method to contact them and ask questions directly. There are many different types of psychics, and their abilities are just as differing as there are types of spices on the planet. Obtaining Information From Spirit Let’s get into some basic steps of obtaining information from spirit. It takes 21 days to either break a habit or create a new one. In the first 21 days of beginning to
develop your psychic abilities, it is recommended that you find a method of quieting your mind. Just as there are many methods of cooking, there are just as many when contemplating peace of mind. You may find that there are some religious aspects that can assist you with finding this peace, or you can try some new angles. Some find that prayer (whatever the religious choice) is comforting and stimulates the peace that is needed. There are those who find that walking in a natural setting brings about serenity, and others find listening to waterfalls or running water from an indoor fountain lull the mind into a quite bliss. Whatever you are most comfortable with, use that method until you find something more suitable. At first it is only recommended that you meditate or pray for about 5-10 minutes if you are not used to doing this for a longer length of time. Everything in moderation so that you do not feel forced, or like you have failed if you have not reached your quiet goal time. That’s right, set a goal for quiet time. Goal setting is very important to success, and since you are now taking on the goal of becoming more in tune with your spiritual side, this is a perfect time to start setting goals. When you reach that point of serenity, then what? Becoming Aware OK. So you have met your goal time for quieting your mind; now it’s time for the next step: becoming aware of what is around you. Wait a minute. I thought I was supposed to be quiet-
ing my mind; you want me to become aware of all the noise around me too? Much of the daily noise in your life is at some point white noise, or just simply background information. If you are used to a lot of noise, such as children, your work place, social activities, etc., then you have also learned to block out what you really don’t want to pay direct attention to. Allow thoughts to come and go freely, as if washing in and out on a tide. You will eventually be able to train your mind to pay attention only to quiet time, and not be bothered by mundane daily activity. If you feel the need, you may focus on a question that you are seeking answers to, a single word or a tone to use as a tool for focusing. You may after a number of short sessions of between 10-20 minutes begin to see images, and perhaps even hear information — all of which is very normal. What do you do with the information once you get it? It is recommended that you keep a journal of your sessions for the entire three weeks you are working on your psychic journey.
Seeing Patterns If you are truly in tune with your ability, you will start to see patterns. Ask yourself these questions when making your assessment on your session: 1. How did you feel — your mind, body, and soul impressions about the session? 2. Did you see information, hear it, or have a body impression? 3. What was the exact impression you were given? 4. Did you feel a presence in the room when you received the information? 5. Did you feel any sort of temperature change near you when you received this information? 6. Was it a strong impression or weak? 7. Did this impression repeat itself two or three times? 8. Did you feel comfortable receiving the information? 9. Do you want to continue doing the sessions? Once you finish your session and write in your journal, you may want to take a walk in a natural setting, wash your hands in cool water, or take a shower — which will help you relax and come back into your daily life effective and informed.
If you are truly in tune with your ability, you will start to see patterns.

Lord Milner Hotel & Nottingham Road Hotel By Rick E. Hale, Foundations Psychical Research
outh Africa is one of those countries where the ancient and the new meet ... and not always under friendly circumstances. For two centuries, Dutch and British settlers duked it out to see who would be the predominant colonial force in a land populated by countless indigenous tribes that have called South Africa home for, well, forever. After years of oppressive policies like apartheid, black and white South Africans now live peacefully in this beautiful country. If you should happen to find yourself in South Africa and need a place to stay after a hard day of chasing lions and giraffes through the bush, there are two hotels that offer more than just food and a bed. They also appear to be two of the most haunted locations in all of Africa. Lord Milner Hotel in Matjiesfontein, Cape Town Between 1899-1902, Cape Town, South Africa was a place of bloody conflict. The Afrikaans-speaking settlers who called themselves Boers fought tooth and nail against the powerful army of The British Empire about who would run the country. Unfortunately, the Boers lost ... big time. The Brits annexed the entire area and kicked the Boers out. However, the conflict gave South Africa one of its most enduring legends and haunted locations: the Lord Milner Hotel in Matjiesfontein. Originally, the Hotel was used as a Boer hospital to treat the Dutch rebels. A 19-year-old nurse, named Kate, was well known for being unusually compassionate. Kate could oftentimes be found shuffling cards and playing card games with her patients. Kate died under very mysterious circumstances. Today, visitors to the Hotel have claimed to see the young nurse shuffling cards and playing a phantom game with unseen opponents in what has come to be known as “Kate’s Card Room.” Visitors have also

claimed to see the beautiful young nurse staring down from the hotel’s turrets. She seems to have a saddened look on her face, presumably over the conflict that was tearing her country apart. In addition to the young Boer nurse, two other ghosts haunt the Lord Milner. The town’s founder James Logan was fond of spending his spare time in the Hotel. He has been seen in the lounge areas of the Hotel. It would appear that James sits in the soft, comfy chairs smoking a cigar. When he is approached, he looks up at the person attempting to communicate and fades away. The third specter that makes its presence known is that of a young woman named Lucy. She has been seen floating down the hallways of the first floor. Reportedly, Lucy is seen wearing a white nightgown and sobbing uncontrollably over a fight with a lover — a fight that possibly resulted in her untimely departure from her mortal coil. For more information about the Lord Milner Hotel, visit www.matjiesfontein.com/LordMilner.
Nottingham Road Hotel in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa Nottingham Road Hotel was originally Fort Nottingham. It was constructed to protect Dutch farmers from raids by local Bushmen. Sometime around the turn of the century, the military installation was turned into a hotel. The hotel is now said to be home to one very active spirit — a beautiful, young prostitute named Charlotte. According to Legend, Charlotte found herself falling head over heels in love with a British soldier. Upon discovering that the love of her life was killed in a skirmish, young Charlotte flung herself from the window of room 10 in the Hotel, dying on impact. However, Charlotte still makes her presence known in the room where she killed herself. In room 10, staff have found windows open and flower vases either rearranged or moved from one place to another, despite no one being in the room at the time. Occupants of room 10, mostly male occupants, have reported hearing a soft knock on the door. When they open it, they find no one around. And that is because Charlotte enters the room invisibly and undetected. Young men have reported the sensation of someone tickling their toes, as well as feeling a person get into bed

with them. It would seem that Charlotte is fond of the young men that grace her room. For more information about the Nottingham Road Hotel, visit www.nottieshotel.co.za. Crystals & Herbology: Mystical Etchings From A Medicyn Woman’s Grimoire
Starting an Herbal Cabinet: How to Gather and Store By Silvermoon Medicyn, www.silvermoonmedicyn.com
erbs are used for the volatile oils that they hold inside the parts of the plant. Once you have decided what type of herbs you want to collect, the next step is to make a list. There are two ways to acquire herbs: either grow or buy them. Depending on what your interests are within the field of herbology, it is easiest to buy them. But for some people they are more fun to grow. Either way is okay, but if you’re looking for harder-to-find herbs or ones that are not easy to grow, you will have to buy them. Find a reputable place to shop. There are some shops that will deceive you by selling you something in place of the true herb. Many towns have herbal shops or tea houses where you can acquire some herbs. They are also easily found in the grocery store. If you decide to grow them, you can begin them from seed or use starts. One big perk to growing your own is that you know they are pure and organic and that no harsh chemicals have been used on the plants, thus making the quality of the herb the best. The next step is to identify which part of the plant you want to use: the leaves, seeds, roots, or flowers of the plants. Some parts of a plant may not be best to use in different situations. So study first. General Rules About Gathering Herbs like to be pampered in the growing season by being harvested and trimmed. Don’t over trim your plant, as this could cause the herb not to recuperate easily, producing less of a harvest next time. Harvesting more than half of your plant at any time could kill it. If you’re growing herbs for the leaves, you must pick them before they flower or they mature. Otherwise the herbs become bitter and can create lanky stems on the plants, causing the plant stems to harden. The tender part of the leaf holds the most volatile oils, making it the strongest part of the plant. Herbs are best used fresh for the highest potency. If you are not go-

ing to use them up quickly, then it is best to dry them. It must be done slowly and not over a lot of heat. Too much heat can make the volatile oils dry up, making the potency of the plant very low or even worthless. Gather them in the early morning or late afternoon. The best way to dry them is to hang them upside down or spread over a drying rack. Harvest seeds before the pods open, allowing them to pop open during the process. Or remove the shell once fully dry; this way will not damage the seed. Make sure to hang them upside down with a paper bag around them to catch any seeds. When gathering the roots, wait until the late fall before a freeze; by then the foliage on top will have died back. Don’t gather any of your herbs about a month before the frost sets in. This gives the plant a chance to become strong
and sealed before heading into hibernation. They will not need any maintenance during the late fall and winter months. They may stay green but will become dormant while weathering over the winter. There are some herbs that will not winter over outside once frost hits. Storage and Preserving of Herbs There are three main ways to store herbs. Each way has perks and pitfalls, so knowing how you intend to use the herb will make a big difference. Fresh herbs are best stored in refrigeration using baggies or jars; wrap them in a paper towel first. This draws moisture away from the plant. Change the paper towel whenever needed. Wetness can be the worst enemy; it will cause rotting faster because the water becomes colder, creating a similar effect like frost. Some stemmed herbs can be stood in a jar with water, but they will only last for a few days fresh. Remember, if the amount of herbs you need is measured in a dry form, you must only use half of that measurement in fresh because of its potency. Dried herbs can be stored many ways by using paper, plastic bags, or glass jars, depending on how you will want to use them in the future. Most often, once dried, they are separated into parts. Leaves are often crushed or ground and placed in darker containers. They are best if kept

out of the direct sunlight and used up within a six-month period. The reason is that the volatile oils continue to dry up making them inert. Herbs can be dried in a conventional oven on very low heat and checked often. Some people do use food dehydrators. They do work better because the heat flows all over the plant and not just on one side. Some herbs can be kept for up to a year if handled safely. Freezing herbs is a great way to ensure that the volatile oil stays fresh but it does cause damage to the plants’ appearances. Once an herb has been frozen, it can never be used for anything other than cooking because the thawing process makes the herbs soft and limp. Now that you know the basics to herb storage and gathering, creating an herb cabinet is easy.

Magic & Lore: When The Mystical And Paranormal Blur
The Power in a Mirror By Silvermoon Medicyn, www.silvermoonmedicyn.com
ver the years of our lives, we learn that a mirror can be our best friend or worst enemy. It has long been used for practical uses like beauty and decoration. On a magical level, it is used for a range of many things like scrying, protection, and reflective magic. The supremacy held in the reflection of a mirror can drive someone to madness with vanity or distort their mind’s images. Our own beliefs and perceptions add to this visual facade. There is a Greek fable about a man named Narcissus; he was a very proud man, almost to the point of selfabsorption. A divine spirit of retribution named Nemesis saw his vanity and led Narcissus to a pool of water where he saw his own reflection. He was overcome by his beauty to the point that he could not take his eye off of himself, so much so that he laid there entranced until he died. This can happen to us when we only look at the mirror with our physical eyes, seeing the image that we want to see or that others have influenced us to expect to be. What Is Scrying? When we try looking past the lines of the figure in the mirror, relaxing our eyes so they come out of focus, we are then seeing with our mind’s eye (our third eye); this is called scrying. It is believed that this is where you see your true path. This practice was begun at the beginning of time by using natural elemental items like pools of water, smoke, and fire; others have used stones/crystals, glass, and shining metals. Scryers are often called seers or peepers. They use this magical practice to find answers for one’s spiritual purpose or fortune-telling needs. Many cultures have used this technique in divination, and as the cyber age grows, someone could use the computer to do this. It is the luminescent or reflective qualities that help the mind’s eye to unwind. When we use the mirror for a deeper purpose other than image, it takes us to a cavernous level in our mind,

bringing us close to the subconscious and leaving the seer feeling like they are standing in a void-type space, smothered in the ethers of the other world. The visions become clearer as you continue to practice. In time, scrying can put one in touch with the Akashic Records. This is where every fiber of all things and beings are stored. These records can bestow you with the power to look beyond the mundane. Mirrors have also long been used for protection and reflective magic. Another common story was of a Greek hero named Perseus, who used his highly polished shield to turn Medusa into stone. Even though this is a myth, it
does have a powerful message. The mirror cannot only be used to repel others, but it can also make you see things in yourself that only you can see. Some qualities are great and others almost terrifying. Mirrors Used as Portals Mirrors can be used like portals as well. There is much controversy surrounding this topic. Some believe that the mirror needs to be created for just this purpose before it can become a portal. Mirrors can be made of glass or obsidian; obsidian is a black volcanic rock with a polished side that reflects the light. Others think that a mirror is a natural portal that can be activated depending on the energy located in its position in the home. Some have said that if you see someone standing behind you in the mirror and disappear as you turn around, you can believe that you may have seen the reflection of the house’s spirit. But some may actually be seeing something in themselves that they need to change or let go of. When we refuse to see with all our eyes, we may be forced by the “powers that be to come to terms with the deep powers of the mirror. People have seen spirits pass through mirrors and stand trapped in them. And many cultures still cover the mirror to prohibit access for astral travel and when someone in the family dies. They do this so the spirit of the loved one will not be trapped in the mirror by its own reflection or the reflection of a light in the room. Families often cover the mirror before dusk, just to assure limited access to the home. It is known that shadow spirits use the mirror for travel as well. Shadow images seem to travel more at night, but that is mainly because the dim lights help us notice them better. Many believe there are portals between mirrors, allowing easy travel from space to space that any

energy being, shadow or light being, can use. If you do decide to consecrate a mirror for scrying or making a portal, it is very important to study all the consequences and have a powerful protection spell in place just in case something very negative comes in. The mirror has so much power that if one was to break it, they would face seven years of bad luck. With that kind of power over us, the mirror deserves to be appreciated. So the next time you look into a mirror, try seeing past the solid lines of yourself, clearing your mind and opening up to the power, deep messages, and possibilities of the mirror.

The purpose of this article is to educate readers on the facts behind some of the most popular and controversial paranormal conspiracy theories in existence. There are many things out there being hidden and covered up. But we have a right to know the truth. Each month I will cover a different conspiracy theory — some well known and some a bit more obscure, but all that have compelling evidence supporting the fact that the truth is being hidden by either our own government or a private source. You will be given the details behind each angle of the topic at hand, and in the end, it is for you to decide what you believe. here are certain events in history where they say you always remember where you were the second you heard about it. My grandparents still remember where they were when JFK was shot. I was not yet born, so it wasn’t personally significant to me. But in September 2001, I was a high school sophomore, and the harsh realities of the world were still somewhat foreign to me. I had no interest in politics, and the state of the world fell low on my priority list. I saw no reason to watch CNN when shows like Dawson’s Creek were on and proved much more interesting. Social Studies was boring to me, and the current events portion of class was just one of those things you had to grin and bear to make it to graduation when I could officially make it a thing of my past. On September 11, 2001, that would change. I remember being in my homeroom that morning, and the announcements were coming over the loudspeaker. Our teacher was passing out a flyer with the headline “National 9-1-1 day!” The purpose was to educate us on the importance of utilizing 9-1-1 in an emergency and how that call could make a difference in saving a life. By the time homeroom was over, most of the flyers sat in the trash.
The photos in this article of ground zero, the rebuilt towers, and the memorial sign were taken by Steve Shoemaker of www.amityphotos.com.
It was a day that started like any other, but by second period math class, it was a day none of us would ever forget. As my teacher was writing algebra problems on the chalkboard, an announcement came over the loudspeaker. Teachers were instructed to turn the TVs in the classrooms on and told that our country was currently under attack. We all watched over and over again as the planes soared into the twin towers. You could see the looks of confusion on all of the students’ faces. The bell rang, signaling the end of class, and we all moved quietly to our next class of the day. Mine was Current Events. When we walked into the room; the TV was already on. My teacher wore a grave expression on her face and simply said, “Just take your seats and watch the news. I think this counts as current events for the day.” After my Current Events class, I took the bus to a
vocational school for the second half of the day. This was generally a time when we would all gather outside while we waited for the bus and talk, laugh, socialize about our days so far. By that time, both planes had already hit the World Trade Center, the Pentagon had been struck, and the plane had just gone down in PA. Some students were sitting outside crying. Others were on their cell phones frantically calling home to check on family members and friends who worked in the areas attacked. I remember just staring at the sky terrified I would see a plane. At 16, I knew evil existed in the world, but not to this extent. I couldn’t understand how anyone could be capable of something this awful. School eventually dismissed early, and we learned that the tragedy was a result of terrorism.
those missing pieces, I began to question the information we were given. The explanations we received from “official” sources did not match up with eyewitness testimony. The accounts of the people who survived suggested explosions had gone off before the impact of the planes, but we were told no bombing was involved. As I continued to dig, I came across two theories that suggest these attacks were not a result of terrorism. Some say our own government orchestrated the events. Others believe they were caused by a death ray, like something straight out of the latest science fiction movie, capable of bringing down a plane with the push of a button, miles away. Compelling evidence and facts suggest that while these theories are almost impossible to believe, they are worth taking a look into. The purpose of this article is to present these theories and let the readers form their own opinions.

A device that could end war? It was said to be able to take out armies of planes, and it could even stop a human heart and make it look like natural causes! Throughout his life, Tesla approached the government several times to present them with his theories and experiments involving his death ray, but to no avail. In 1937, Tesla passed away. He had no will to speak of, so his belongings were moved into storage. His death would prove to be the first time the government took a serious look at what he had come up with. Since there was no heir to any of his documented research, government officials took the information to study; after all, Tesla was an incredibly smart man. The official results of the government research was that Tesla’s research was inconclusive and proved in no way that the formation of a death ray was possible. Moving forward in time, in 1979, inventor John Hutchison discovered what has been deemed “The Hutchison Effect,” which simply put is the use of frequencies to change the way material moves and operates. Metals will morph into unknown shapes and float effortlessly. So what does this have to do with the attacks on 9/11? And isn’t something like this only heard of in the latest sci-fi blockbuster? The answer is no, and footage showing debris at the WTC looks shockingly identical to the characteristics of metal under the Hutchison Effect. Some believe that the attacks on the WTC were actually a result of a death ray
that is a hybrid between Tesla’s and Hutchison’s theories. Let’s first quickly go through exactly what happened when the towers collapsed. It took roughly 8-10 seconds for the first building to collapse; it was almost as if it imploded into itself. Dust rose as high as the eye could see. The aftermath was about 2% of debris, and a minimum of 1,400 cars for blocks completely melted. The windows burst and all that was left was a charred shell. Dr. Judy Wood, who has degrees in Civic Engineering, Engineering Science, and Physics, has done extensive research on the topic, and the results are intriguing. Based on the facts above, it is not scientifically possible that the building collapsed from natural causes. She also believes it is not possible that the effects were caused by any type of kinetic energy. The effects shown in footage presented to the public is not characteristic of your average explosive. It is characteristic of directed energy and is exactly how a hybrid death ray as mentioned previously would behave. Scientifically, she states what the results would have been if it were an actual collapse similar to that of a controlled demolition, which is the method of the collapse that was presented to the country. The dust cloud should not have risen any higher than the highest floor of the building. The amount of debris (2% of the building) only accounted for a small portion of it. Based on its size, there should have been at least 12.5% of the building on the

think that something of that size would be hard to miss. What is also confusing is that while the footage of the twin towers played over and over again on the news, it took almost a year for us to see a very poor-quality video of the Pentagon that shows nothing at all. Photos of the pentagon after the attack also show security cameras on the building that are completely intact and unaffected. So where is the footage from those cameras? What I find particularly interesting is the quality of what was presented. As a paranormal investigator, I use security cameras on every case. Our cameras are valued at roughly $100 each, and they present an incredibly clear image in pitch black dark. So again, the government claims no footage of the plane hitting the Pentagon was captured. The Pentagon has hundreds of security cameras staged all over the facility both inside and outside. The footage is stored not only on the drive they are hooked up to but also on backup drives located nowhere near where the damage occurred. This is done so footage would be available in the case of any kind of robbery or attack. One would think the Pentagon would have cameras with technology that far surpasses the quality of those most paranormal investigators use. Their type of quality would be a ghost hunters dream! But unless we all take out mortgages on our homes, most teams are far out of the range of being able to afford such technology. So the real question is, if the image I get from my personal system is so clear, how has the government not been able to scrounge up one clear shot of the plane that hit the Pentagon? Something doesn’t add up here ‌
So if we choose to put these facts together and believe that a plane did not hit the pentagon, what did? Those who support these theories believe that the culprit is a missile. There are many eyewitness accounts stating that they saw a missile hit the Pentagon. There are even survivors of the attack that claim they in no way feel that what they heard and experienced could have been the result of a plane. Some claimed to hear explosions prior to the impact. CNN even reported at the scene that there was no evidence to be found that suggested it was a plane that also hit the Pentagon. Another interesting fact is that an aerial picture of the Pentagon that surfaced from four days before September 11. The picture clearly shows the markings of an aerial path marker identical to the path taken when the Pentagon was hit (see photo on next page). Now if we believe that it was terrorists who are responsible, how could they possibly have gotten close enough to the Pentagon to mark their path? Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld even slipped in an interview with Parade magazine on October 2001, referencing missile damage to the Pentagon and then quickly pulling back and stressing the point that we stop terrorism. The aftermath of the attacks was a hole too small to fit a plane. A piece of a Boeing 757 was strewn in the lawn several yards away from the building. There were no physical bodies to be seen, and witness accounts claimed that no plane was seen. There have even been accounts from previous workers who admit to being threatened by government officials in regards to what they experienced that day. They were told they were not to speak of anything they saw or heard
that contradicted a plane hitting the Pentagon, and it was made clear that life would be incredibly difficult for them if they did. These people have been featured on several documentaries about the 9/11 attacks, but for their safety they are kept anonymous. They have stated that even though they are in fear for themselves and their families, it is important we all know the truth. There are many out there who dismiss the theories surrounding the Pentagon, and Popular Mechanics even did an article that received so much hype it turned into a book that detailed why all the claims of those who believe no plane was involved are wrong. There are, however, many who believe that these writers were either threatened or paid off by the government to put this information out there. And several books exist that focus solely on debunking why the Popular Mechanics article does not hold up.
Much later in the day at 4:10 p.m., building 7 of the World Trade Center also caught fire from “debris of the twin towers.” At 5:21 p.m., just an hour and 11 minutes later, the building collapsed. While this may seem insignificant, it is the soundness of this structure that is the real issue. Building 7 was constructed with steel, which is considered to be one of the strongest materials to erect a building from. In history, only three steel framed structures have ever collapsed. The other two are the twin towers. So if it takes a plane strike and almost two hours for the first of the twin towers to crumble, how can a fire, which was also present at the twin towers, bring down an entire skyscraper in half the time? Especially when history shows us this has never happened before? What is also interesting is that Building 7 was kept very quiet. As the attacks were replayed over and over again throughout that day, only small blips of information were given about this particular building. It has been said that since the World Trade Center buildings were so tall, they were specifically engineered to withstand the impact of up to three jets. What is also interesting is that the speed at which the buildings fell is considered freefall speed, suggesting that they collapsed from the bottom up instead of the top down. Had they collapsed normally, the time would have almost doubled
The World Trade Center The biggest question with the World Trade Center is the rate at which the buildings collapsed and the way in which they collapsed. Many scientists, engineers, and architects have come forward and said that based on where the point of impact was, the buildings should have only partially collapsed. They also should not have gone down at the speed they did. In the article “Active Eyewitnesses confirmed Thermitic Material Discovered in Dust from the 9/11 World The Hijackings and Phone hearing several small Trade Center Catastrophe,” Calls explosions prior to seeing which appeared in the Open Let’s first look at the Chemical Physics Journal, hijackings themselves. Alexander Keewatin Dewdney ran three aerial experiments on cell phone communication. The success rate of connection of a call at 8,000 feet was only 8%. Flight 93 was flying at roughly 35,000 feet. This would make it nearly impossible, and quite miraculous, for the volume of calls reported to actually establish a connection at that level. And finally, even though so many calls were reported, not one phone record exists to back up any one phone call. Motives Now that we’ve seen the facts surrounding the 9/11 attacks, I am left wondering why? Why would our own government orchestrate such a tragedy? What could be so important that thousands of lives were expendable? The first would be the most obvious reason: War. We had a president who, at the time, already had a preexisting vendetta with Iraq that stemmed back to his father’s days in the presidency. Bush wanted to go to war, and any person in power knows that you can’t just start a war. From the minute we went to war with Afghanistan, the matter of attacking Iraq was put on the table. The Bush administration insisted that Iraq was linked to Al-Qaeda. Members of the 9/11 commission have been quoted as saying, “The plan to attack Iraq had been in the works for at least a decade before 9/11,” and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld had instructed members to “find out as much as he could about Saddam Hussein’s possible responsibility for 9/11.” The need for war does not stop with the Bush administration. When Barack Obama ran for the presidency in 2008, one of his platforms was ending the war on terror
and bringing our troops home by 2010. We all know how that turned out. You need to have a good reason to go to war, so a war on terror was created. National devastation and loss of countless Americans is surely enough to put our citizens in the right frame of mind to retaliate, and it worked perfectly. We all listened to the president on the evening of 9/11 speak as eloquently as he could about the horrors of terrorism and how we as a country need to band together and fight back, and we did. Now that Bush had the support of virtually the entire U.S., we immediately went to war with Afghanistan. And in October 2003, only two short years later, we went to war with Iraq, giving the Bush administration exactly what they had been thirsting for. Another lesser motive is the destruction of compromising documents located both in the Pentagon and in Building 7 of the World Trade Center. Reports show that on September 10, 2001, Donald Rumsfeld made a statement that they could not account for $2.3 trillion in expenses. Where were those documents located? In a room directly impacted by the attack on the Pentagon. All the expense reports were destroyed. Building 7 is also said to have housed several documents on investigations by the SEC and EEOC. It is estimated that 3,000-4,000 incriminating case files were destroyed. The last motive is another shocking and frightening issue. Since the 9/11 attacks, the government has put several acts into place in the name of stopping terrorism. Many feel some of these acts cut into our civil liberties as U.S. citizens. One such act is the Patriot Act. This was put into place by George Bush in 2001 after the attacks and extended while Barak Obama was in office. The act gives the government full control to tap phone lines and intercept phone records and e-mail records with a special government program called “Carnivore.” The purpose is to identify and convict terroristic acts more efficiently; however, the bill does not limit the extended surveillance to suspected acts of terrorism. These terms apply to any ongoing criminal investigation where suspicion may arise. Under this act, you can be monitored at any time as long as you are “suspected” of having any involvement whatsoever in a crime. Many feel this cuts deeply into our citizens privacy. It basically gives the government the right to track you without a warrant. One man suspected of being related to drug trafficking had a GPS device attached to his vehicle with no warrant. The man was found innocent. I am all for taking measures to stop crime, but isn’t the purpose of a warrant to prevent unnecessary privacy violations? It helps prove there is cause to search or track a person; but now, this can be done on a whim without show-
“by the people and for the people,” but it seems to me that our leaders have taken this government by the people and turned it into one for their own needs and wants. There is also a lot to be said for the death ray theory. When I initially decided to do this topic, the death ray was something I knew less about than the other topics, and my instinct was that this theory would be a bit far-fetched. But after doing some in-depth study, I find myself leaning more and more toward it. What sounds like something that Spielberg should be writing about is actually an incredibly factual theory with strong evidence supporting the claims. Opinion When you think about it, we may have all been fooled. The bottom line for me on the Pentagon is if there’s George W. Personal Experiences: Ghost Hunter Case Files
The House That Freedom Built ... And Haunts: Part 2 By Rick E. Hale, Foundations Psychical Research For Part 1 of this article, see our March 2013 issue.
’ve never been too fond when some investigators look at a house and say, “Yep, it just looks like it should be haunted.” Believe it or not, a brand new home in a brand new subdivision could be just as haunted as any old ramshackle building. However, when it came to this house that we were investigating, the saying did seem to apply. As my team leader and I walked into the front room, we became aware of a thick, sticky feeling in the air. You really don’t have to be psychic to have this kind of sensation; it’s a part of mankind’s ancient fight or flight mechanism in the brain that tells you something just isn’t quite right. Capturing Orbs as Spirit Energy? When we walked into the front room, I shot a series of pictures with my camera and was treated to a number of orbs floating about. I know that orbs are not necessarily anything supernatural. Usually orbs are nothing more than dust particles or condensation that reflects the light from your camera’s flash. Trust me, I don’t make that kind of rookie mistake. But these seemed different — they seemed to have their own light source, and we could clearly see that these amorphous balls of light had movement to them. These were anything but dust or condensation; this was true spirit energy. According to physics, the simplest form for energy to take is a sphere. The spirits at this old home were coming out to play. My team leader, who we’ll call Bob, took his digital voice recorder from his pocket and turned it on. “Bob with Rick in the front room. EVP session.” He cleared his

throat and asked, “Are there any spirits in this room who would like to make their presence known?” “We are not here to harm you. We are just here to document your presence.” I added. “We don’t want to make you leave,” Bob said as he moved around the room. Upon review of the evidence later, Bob recorded what sounded like a voice talking in unintelligible whispers — not really too much to work with, but it did confirm that someone other than us was in the room. A Life-Changing Experience After spending several minutes in the front room waiting for anything to happen, we decided that it was
Paranormal Underground 57
Personal Experiences: Ghost Hunter Case Files time to tackle the upstairs bedrooms. The client had numerous experiences in one particular room, and although Bob knew of the experiences and what to expect, I did not. You see, Bob likes to have his crew go in cold so we don’t make the mistake of preconceived notions and expectedness. When we walked into one bedroom, you could automatically tell that at one time many years ago this was a child’s room. Cherry wall paper hung ripped on the walls, and a stroller for a doll stood quietly in one corner. As we entered the room, I took a picture and was treated to another ball of true spirit energy. I showed Bob the shot, and you could see a ball of light with a trail of light behind it near the baseboard of the floor. I asked Bob if I could do an EVP session. As it turned out, this EVP session would change my life forever. Ever since I was a child, I knew I was different. I could always feel and sense the emotions of others, and I was always real sensitive to the spirit world. But for whatever reason, for years my ability was “shut off” more or less. But tonight, that ability would get clicked back on. And, to be honest, I did not like it. “My name is Rick, and this is my friend Bob,” I said as I launched into my EVP session. “Hello,” Bob added. “I think I may have seen you in my picture, but if you come near this machine in Bob’s hand and speak into it, you can tell us about your ...” Bob interrupted me and started to say numbers out loud. “2.6, 3.0, 4.7. There is something here with us,” Bob excitedly said as he read the number spikes from his EMF detector. Before I could go back to doing my EVP session, the room became immensely cold, and without warning I felt a cold tingly whooshing sensation pass through my body. “What the heck!” I blurted out. “What’s wrong?” Bob asked with a look of concern on his face. “I really can’t explain it,” I said, taking a few moments to formulate my thoughts. “My whole body and my face has this weird tingly sensation, almost as if something passed through me.” Bob looked down at his EMF detector and said, “Whoever was in here is now gone. Let me see your face.” Bob turned on his flashlight and looked at my face to see it covered with goose bumps. “Whoever was in here passed through you.” When Bob said that, I became intensely aware that this house
was filled with souls that never crossed over. And whatever was in that room and passed through me told me who it was. “It was a little girl, and she likes playing in this room.” “How do you know?” Bob asked. “Because when she passed through me, she told me.” A Creepy Basement For me, during a ghost investigation nothing gets much better than a creepy basement. Before Bob’s daughter, Sally and I were sent down to investigate the basement, we learned a fascinating historical fact about it. When the house was built, the original owner had a mission; and that was to help slaves who were taking the dangerous journey from the South, where they were kept as property, to find freedom. The basement was a depot for the famous Underground Railroad. For me this investigation could not get any better. Sally and I made our way down the narrow stairs to the hiding place of dozens of former slaves. As soon as we got into the basement, our EMF detectors started going crazy. We couldn’t help but get excited, until we realized that spirit energy had absolutely nothing to do with sending our equipment into a fit of bright lights and buzzing sounds. Rather, it had everything to with the circuit breaker and the unshielded electrical wires that hung from the ceiling. Still, the area needed our attention, and we would give it just that. Sally started to role the tape recorder as I walked around asking questions. “I’m told that you used to hide down here. Is that true?” “You know,” Sally continued, “The war is over and the North won. You don’t have to fear for your freedom any longer you can ...” Sally was interrupted when the two of us heard something move in the little hidey hole that was discovered when a previous owner tore down a wall. “Did you hear that?” I asked. “Yeah it was kind of like a dragging sound,” Sally responded as the two of us listened intently for another sound. Our patience was paid off when another faint dragging sound caught our attention. At that point my excitement overcame me as I blurted out, “I’ll crawl in and check it out.” So I clicked on my trusty flashlight and crawled into the uncertain abyss of darkness. Stay tuned for the conclusion next month ...

Personal Experiences: Reader Encounters
AFFAIR AT THE OLD POST OFFICE: Part 2 By Jim MacDonald, www.highlanderthorsbeyondthegrave.blogspot.com
For Part 1 of this article, see our March 2013 issue.
t appears that the story of the affair at the Old Post Office/Fiddler’s Green Irish Pub (see last month’s issue) didn’t end there. It moved over to the nearby Café 13. Here is Part 2 of this story ... In the year 2009, I moved to Cambridge, Ontario, where I met my soon-to-be wife, Carol. We were driving through town every day for about two months, as I worked in Brantford. One day as we were on our way through town, I asked Carol if she had ever been in Café 13, as she had lived in Cambridge for about 10 years. She said, “No.” I told her there was something about the place. A familiar feeling. About three months later, in March 2010, we finally stopped in and sat at the bar to order a drink. The staff and the regulars who frequented Café 13 were all very friendly. It was not your average bar. We instantly became part of their family, as if we had always gone there. After we received our drinks, I asked where the washrooms were. The bartender pointed me down the stairs to the basement and instructed me to go to the end of the hall on the left. As I was walking down, I felt a young presence. I continued on through the small hallway where the Café had pictures of its history, the previous owners, and newspaper clippings. As I was reading, the washroom door opened, but no one was there. As I walked over to the washroom, I heard a kid’s voice. He said, “Did you see my mom?” I said, “No.” He continued to say he was looking for her. I asked him what his name was, and he said, “Tommy.” I asked Tommy how long he had been there. He replied, “A very long time.” He asked me if I could help him because nobody would talk to him or has talked to him in a long while. I told him I would try, but I had to go and would be back another day. He said to me, “Do you promise?” I told him yes, and that I would be back.
Pictured above/upper right: The exterior of Café 13 in Cambridge, Ontario. Pictured above: The downstairs basement hallway where I spoke with Tommy.
One week later, we stopped back in at Café 13. I was walking back toward the basement stairs when I saw an apparition of a lady at the top of the stairs. I felt like I had met her before or had known her. I continued to go downstairs to where the washrooms were, and there was Tommy at the bottom looking up at me. He said, “You came back! Did you see my mom?” I told him I saw a young lady looking down from the top of the basement stairs. Tommy said, “The man won’t let me go upstairs, and the lady can’t come down. Can you go talk to the lady?” I told him I couldn’t talk to her just yet. I just had a glimpse of her. I told Tommy that if she trusts me, she will talk to me. But it could take some time. He continued to ask me if I would try, and I told him I would. We stopped in at the Café 13 many times over the next few weeks, getting to know the people and also talking with Tommy. I also saw the lady, just a glimpse here and there.
Pictured above: The third floor of Café 13.
The weather soon warmed up, and Café 13 opened up their patio for the summer. We stopped in to have a drink and lunch, sitting out on the patio. Most of the people were outside enjoying the weather on the patio with just a few patrons inside. I went inside to walk down to the washroom, and the lady was standing at the top of the stairs again. She didn’t move from the top of the stairs; she smiled at me, and right then I knew who she was. Her name was Emily. She finally spoke to me for the first time. She said, “I can’t stay on the first floor too long because the man won’t let me, but my son is trapped in the basement. Can you come to the third floor?” I told her that I would ask the owner. I went to find Adam, the owner of Café 13. I explained to Adam that I did paranormal investigating, and I asked him if I could do an investigation of Café 13. He said yes. Later I asked the staff if there were any strange things, paranormal activity, going on while they worked. They said that people saw a little boy in the basement and a lady on the third floor. I explained to them I did paranormal investigations and did one a few years ago across the street at Fiddler’s Green. I continued to say that there was a young lady that took her life at the Fiddlers Green and she was pregnant at the time. I told them that the lady on the third floor of Café 13 was Emily. A customer told me that Café 13 had rooms upstairs for rent before it became a bar.
Pictured above/left: The second floor area. Pictured above/right: The first floor sitting area.
In July, Carol and I went to the third floor and asked Emily why she hasn’t moved on. Emily told me that she couldn’t move on until she and her son could be together. She also said that the man on the first floor stops them from being together. Tommy can’t come up, and she can’t go down. I spoke to the man who was keeping them apart and told him that he can only be free if the woman he loved could hold her son. About two months later, we stopped in at Café 13 and saw Tommy and Emily at the top of the stairs holding hands. The both looked at me, smiled, and then disappeared. A very happy ending to say the least. Café 13 is still the friendliest place, and the atmosphere is that of going into the past. If you get a chance, stop in and experience the great food and people at Café 13.
UNBORN CHILD As detailed in Part 1 of this story, Emily had hung herself while she was pregnant with Tommy. If that was the case, how can an unborn child (Tommy) take a “physical” spirit form? I ran into this instance once before when an unborn child spirit took on a physical host human body. I was in Inverness, Scotland. I was visiting relatives in November 1985. I went to a grave yard and saw a lady named Pat and a girl. The girl was seven. I talked to the lady and asked her why she was still here and why she couldn’t move on. Pat told me she was scared to leave. She was 23 and pregnant with her daughter when she died of Scarlet fever. I asked her if the young girl was her first child. She told me no, that she was her unborn child. I asked her how this was possible. She said that a spirit is a spirit and that it doesn’t matter if it’s not yet removed from the womb. In the womb, she was alive, and they were meant to be together. It’s like true soul mates. Life can take you on different paths, happy or not happy, different jobs, different towns. But, when you found your true path, when and where and how, you know it’s the right path and it doesn’t matter what happens. It’s like every day is happy. She told me that if her daughter was born, she would have been very sick and died at the age of seven. I told Pat that if she moved on, her and her daughter would probably be together again sometime, somewhere. Pat smiled and thanked me. She said she hoped that I was right. For the next three days I returned to where I saw Pat and her daughter and just felt a very happy and peaceful felling.

Religion And The Paranormal
A Journey of Reconciliation By Melinda Stum, South Sound Paranormal Research
eople of religious faith have traditionally confessed the belief in the human soul, as well as the afterlife. A significant number of religious practitioners continue to hold these beliefs in the 21st Century. Meanwhile, paranormal investigation and afterlife research has been launched into the 21st Century popular culture. This intensified fascination with the paranormal may be attributed to television shows like Ghost Adventures, Ghost Hunters, and The Dead Files, among others. Yet, 21st Century people of religious faith struggle to reconcile these confessions with the paranormal phenomena of disembodied (human) spirits. This article is a simple introduction to a series that will seek to aid in this reconciliation process. Hinduism and Buddhism The faith traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism do confess the existence of and the reincarnation of the human soul. This human soul may become “trapped on the earthly realm as a disembodied soul (e.g., ghost) between incarnations. Paganism Paganism is the traditional, non-Christian faith traditions in various cultures, including the Romans, the Norse Vikings, and the Celtic Druids. Although these traditions are diverse, there is recognition of the human soul and an afterlife. The Celtic Druids, in particular, embraced various practices that acknowledged the disembodied human soul.
This article is a simple introduction to a series that will seek to aid in this reconciliation process.
Vodun (aka Voodoo) Vodun is the traditional African religion, whose name is derived from the God (Vodun) of the West African Yoruba people. The Vodun faith has an intimate relationship between the human soul and the Lao (e.g., spirits), which often includes deceased leaders. Native American Spirituality Native American spirituality is vast, similar to Paganism. Although the Native American traditions are diverse, there is recognition of the human, animal, and nature spirits. These spirits have an intimate relationship with each other, as well as with the Great Spirit. Judaism The religious tradition of Judaism does confess a human soul and Sheol (the afterlife). Sheol is the separation
of the human soul from the presence of God (Yahweh). Additionally, the Jewish tradition includes the narrative of Lilith (Adam’s first wife), which provides an open, faithful space for the disembodied soul.
paranormal entities; however, the Sufis (the Islamic mystical sect) recognizes reincarnation, disembodied human souls, and paranormal entities.
Christianity The vast religious traditions of Christianity do confess a human soul and the afterlife, Heaven and Hell. Similar to the divine dualism of Heaven and Hell, Christian traditions tend to embrace divine dualisms (God-Devil, Angels-Demons) with minimal gray in-between.
Conclusion People of religious faith in the 21st Century continue to struggle with their religious convictions and the paranormal phenomena in our popular culture. Perhaps this series may assist in the journey of reconciliation through exploring the theology and histories of these faith traditions.
Islam Islam faith traditions do confess a human soul and the afterlife, which is similar to Judaism. The traditional sects of Islam do not embrace the disembodied human soul or

“Dream Symbology Dictionary” By Michelle M. Pillow, www.MichellePillow.com
uthor Michael Schwartz’s goal is to help people “regain their health on a multiple of levels, including physical, material, social, spiritual, and emotional,” which he does daily in his role as the President of Michael’s Naturopathic Programs. One part of his teachings deals with the interpretation of dreams, which he has laid out in his recently published third book, Dream Symbology Dictionary. It is currently in e-book and print from Inner Health Books. ***** Q: Why are dreams important? Schwartz: They are guidance. They help you understand which pattern of behavior is at work and where you are in the cycle of its unfolding. Knowing that you can change the outcome so that your personal history does not repeat. Q: What does it mean that they are “the royal road to the unconscious?” Schwartz: When you understand the symbols your mind uses to communicate with you, it’s like being on a highway with green lights all the way to Knowing. Q: Why should I care about my unconscious mind? Schwartz: It is the real you. It is what motivates you toward heavenly or hellish experience. It drives you to fulfill your subconscious concepts of who you think you should be. Q: Why do symbols occur in dreams and what are symbols about?
Schwartz: Symbols are the living language of the mind. They are your personal emotional associations with events from your life. Q: What are the most important symbols people should watch for? Schwartz: Their own. Once you have the ability to read and understand symbols, there seems to be a tendency to read others. Q: Can you give me samples of dream interpretation? Schwartz: The following is an example of the process: Step 1: I was driving in my car on the way to work when a dog jumped out in front of the car. Step 2: I was driving in my car on the way to work when a dog jumped out in front of my car. Step 3: I=myself, driving=operating my expression
car (type)=expression (solid, stable) work=communicating, dealing with people dog=companionship, of a temporary nature jumped=uncontrolled move, unable to sustain for long in front=ahead of me, the future car=expression Step 4: In expressing myself while working with people today, there will be feelings of a need for companionship. This may cause me to make some kind of uncontrolled move relating to the future; thus it may affect my communications with others. Now that you have gone through the dream, experience, or vision, you are ready to work with the energies of the day. You now know what concepts and attitudes will be at work in your life, affecting your perception, understandings, and ability to evaluate correctly. Also, ask yourself what are the emotional overtones of the dream. Those will be the dominant emotions you will be dealing with in communicating with others and in expressing yourself. “Know what is in thy sight, and what is hidden from thee will be revealed to thee. For there is nothing hidden which will not manifest,” Gospel According to Thomas, pg. 5 10-14. Q: I can never remember my dreams. Is there a way to help me remember? Schwartz: One easy technique is to tell yourself as you are falling asleep, “mind, mind remember my dreams when I brush my teeth.” This is an example of one of the many things that you can use as a trigger. Q: It is best to use something that you do everyday upon waking or shortly thereafter. Schwartz: The very best is to have a trigger that will help you remember while you are still lying in bed. It will also be helpful to keep a pad and pen by your bed so that as you remember you can write it down. In that way even the smallest detail will not be lost. Q: Does what you eat affect your dreams? Also,
does what you read or watch before going to bed affect your dreams? Schwartz: Yes in both cases. You could have a dream where you are a refining facility and produce gas all night long. As for reading and watching something, there is always the possibility that it along with the day’s activities will stimulate a particular concept and that will get the ball rolling. Q: What kind of things can I expect to learn from interpreting my dreams? Schwartz: How to achieve what you want and how to avoid the internal energies that will work against you getting it. Q: Do you interpret nightmares differently than dreams? Schwartz: Yes, faster. Symbols are symbols. Nightmares are the result of suppression, and now your mind NEEDS you to understand. Q: Why do you think readers, and society in general, are fascinated by the unexplained? Schwartz: We are driven to understand so that we can master the material plane. Q: Do you believe in the supernatural? Or are you a skeptic? Schwartz: Of course I believe because I know we are supernatural beings. The issue is that not all of us know how to manifest it. Q: What is your next book project? Schwartz: The Universal Teachings. These are the guidelines that help humanity be the spiritual beings they are without following the ways of man. *****

Paranormal Perspective: Guest Editorial
Reflections of a Closet
By Karen Frazier (with a little help from Jim Frazier, a.k.a. Techie McScienceGeek)
hen I wrote Dancing With the Afterlife: A Paranormal Memoir, I originally thought about subtitling it, “Tales of a Reluctant Psychic.” Then I started to do some research and discovered something significant. There are a lot of paranormal, spiritual, and metaphysical books out there with the word “reluctant” in their titles or subtitles. It turns out that many of us who have felt the calling of spirit feel at least a little reluctant. I have to ask myself, why is that? Notes From a Reluctant Psychic I’ve written and spoken at length about being dragged kicking and screaming into this psychic stuff from my very early childhood. I was the “imaginative” kid, the dreamer, and the one with a plethora of imaginary (but very real to me) friends. I didn’t just have one. I had a whole cast of characters. As a teenager I began having prophetic dreams. I found I would dream about earthquakes and they’d happen. Ditto for train derailments and other assorted natural disasters. In college, I added “feelings” to my repertoire. Without dreaming, it seemed, I could sense certain things. I could pluck songs out of other people’s heads. I knew things before I knew them. I also started to experience a huge array of emotions that had very little to do with anything going on in my life. This was especially true when I lived in the dorms, where people surrounded me. Visits to my parents’ house became a respite where I could relax and not feel such emotional upheaval all the time.
Then came adulthood, where I added my ability to see/hear/sense/talk to dead people. It started in a spooky little apartment with a whispering ghost before I fled in terror and spent nearly 20 years in denial. It’s not like my 20 years of denial was unprecedented. Even as a kid, I knew the things I was experiencing weren’t “normal,” and I came up with all kinds of explanations from, “I’m overly imaginative,” to “I’m completely nuts.” Let me tell you, cultivating those beliefs about oneself aren’t healthy for the self-esteem. Any of you who have followed my writing, blogs, and radio hosting for Paranormal Underground over the past several years may have noticed my evolution. A few years ago when someone would ask, “Are you psychic?” my answer would be a swift and emphatic, “No!” I remember Cheryl telling me once that after Chad watched a video clip I did about Wellington, he asked her, “Is Karen aware she’s psychic?” Of course I wasn’t. Another time I appeared on a show discussing my first book, Avalanche of Spirits, when the host billed me as “Psychic Karen Frazier.” Believe me, I shut that down in the first 30 seconds of my interview. So I get reluctance. I’ve lived it, and it’s only in my very recent past I’ve started talking openly about this. In fact, my total openness really began just a few months ago with my newest book, Dancing with the Afterlife. I wrote and published it extremely quickly so I wouldn’t have time to over think things and wiggle out of it, because my spirit was telling me it was time to be who I am, even as my mind was telling me to STFU.
It started in a spooky little apartment with a whispering ghost ...
I did my first interview for the book on Paradigm Shift Radio just a few weeks ago, and I tried to be as open and honest as I possibly could. It was incredibly difficult. While I was openly sharing my experiences and thoughts, my brain was hollering in horror. On breaks I asked the hosts David and Trish repeatedly just how nuts I was sounding. I’m new to this — being open about my abilities — and it still terrifies me. The more I talk and write about it, however, the easier it becomes. It also allows me to live more honestly, and in doing so I am feeling happier and more authentic than I have in a long time. While it still scares me to be this open, in the long run it’s the best thing for who I am and what I hope to do with my life. That’s my story, but it doesn’t answer the question I originally had — why are so many so reluctant? Conditioning I believe conditioning sums up most of why so many of us are reluctant to share (or even believe in) our own abilities, beliefs, and interests. If I had a nickel for every person who started a conversation about a paranormal, spiritual, or psychic experience with the phrase, “You’re going to think I’m crazy, but …,” I’d have at least $20 (come on — that’s 400 nickels). How does conditioning play a role in what amounts to denial of self? We are raised in a society that has
certain beliefs. Among those beliefs are predominately Christian constructs; the thought that paranormal experiences are myths, insanity, or lies; the certainty that psychics are charlatans; and many others. Everything around us echoes these beliefs, making it virtually impossible to reject them — even if our personal experiences are different. Popular media reinforces the conditioning — even television shows specifically about the paranormal. How often have we heard people on paranormal television denigrating the contribution of psychics in investigation? For me, conditioning was a huge part of being unwilling to admit my abilities, because “everyone knows people who see and hear things are mentally ill.” Yet, my ability to see, hear, and sense have never affected my ability to lead a productive life. In many cases, they’ve enhanced it. Still, admitting in “polite society” that you see and communicate with dead people is as much of a faux pas as farting at a fancy dinner party. In fact, I have several people in my life who would much rather I fart the theme from the Pink Panther while standing in the middle of the Thanksgiving dinner table with the turkey on my head than mention the paranormal. The following are some of the areas in which we are pre-conditioned to reject the paranormal, spiritual, and metaphysical.

Paranormal Perspective: Guest Editorial Occam’s Razor As rational individuals, we are told to believe in a principle called Occam’s Razor, which goes a little something like this: All things being equal, the simplest explanation is usually the correct one. We’re then told that the simplest explanations are those that don’t involve intuition, psychic abilities, paranormal activity, or metaphysical beliefs. I’ve often seen people in pursuit of this principle make convoluted leaps of logic in order to make “the simplest explanation” be something other than intuition, paranormal activity, or psychic ability. Yet, sometimes I’ve found the simplest explanation is that some kind of an intuitive leap did, indeed, occur.
Confirmation Bias One part of my denial of my own abilities went a little something like this: “Who am I to believe I am so special that I have psychic abilities?” We seem to believe paranormal abilities are a sort of superpower endowed to only a few, when in fact I feel everyone has the potential to tune in to psychic information. We may do it in different ways, but I believe the ability exists in each of us. Who hasn’t had a flash of intuition? Who hasn’t thought of someone they haven’t seen in years only to run into them the next day? Most of us, however, are so conditioned by society that we choose not to believe we can do so. We’re told that confirmation bias (a very real thing by the way) is the only reason these events seem to stand out in our minds more than the numerous times we didn’t have a flash of insight that came true. We are taught not to trust our own experiences and intuition.
Science We exist in a physical realm, and science has done a bang-up job of explaining the gross properties of our physical world. Science, however, isn’t nearly as infallible as the metaphysical and paranormal naysayers would have you believe. As our knowledge, technology, and ability to take measurements evolves, so does our science. We now understand that many former principles we held as absolute turned out to be incorrect. Still, science is the best tool we have for making sense of our physical universe. The problem is that, as far as we can tell, intuition, consciousness, and spirituality aren’t currently a measurable part of our physical reality. Because we can’t measure it, we would rather pretend it didn’t exist at all. Science is a critical part of our education as children, and we rely on it to make our world more predictable as adults. We take comfort in the fact that water boils at 212 degrees (except at elevation). It’s good to know that we won’t burst into flames when it’s 90 degrees outside. We’re happy that we have a sense of control that by “eating right” and exercising, we just may be able to prolong our life and improve our health. (By the way — if you ever want to see where science fails, just take a look at how much our definition of “eating right” has changed over the years and how many different definitions of it exist right now.) In return for the comfort we take in our knowledge of scientific principle, we are willing to sacrifice some of the mystical and wondrous in the universe on the altar of scientific understanding. In doing so, we forget that just because science hasn’t measured, quantified, and explained it yet doesn’t mean it never will. If we can remember this, then perhaps we can open our minds to more than what we see in our physical world.
My husband, whom I lovingly call Techie McScienceGeek, points out the following: “Our ability to detect things on a quantum scale is still so primitive, we had to spend tens of billions of dollars and decades of research on a big-ass particle accelerator just to prove the existence of the Higgs Boson — a particle so common we theorize it gives mass to the entire universe. In other words, just because we can’t easily detect something doesn’t mean it doesn’t or can’t exist.”
To quote Washington State Paranormal Investigation and Research (WISPR’s) Darren Thompson, “No amount of evidence will convince a disbeliever. For a believer, no evidence is necessary.”
Peer, Societal, and Familial Pressure We are locked in our own patterns of belief and disbelief, and it is very difficult to move beyond them. This is particularly true because, in many cases, we arrived at those beliefs through conditioning rather than personal Religion exploration. There is tremendous social pressure to For many people, however, the supernatural is an share the beliefs (and disbeliefs) of those around us, and important part of their spiritual reality. Stroke Awareness Inspired by Psychic Tiff By Jenny Gurney, Proximity Paranormal
n Friday, January 18, Tiffany Johnson, our beloved “Psychic Tiff,” suffered a massive stroke most people do not survive. She was immediately rushed where it was uncovered that she suffered from massive Arterial Dissection, which refers to the abnormal, and usually abrupt, formation of a tear along the inside wall of an artery. As the tear becomes larger, it forms a small pouch that doctors call a “false lumen.” Blood pools inside the wall of the artery until it begins to impede blood flow. The growing pool of blood in the wall of the artery is known as a “pseudoaneurysm.” The blood inside the false lumen can clot and extend slowly into the area where blood normally flows. This can limit or completely interrupt blood flow to a part of the brain. Small pieces from the growing blood clot can break off, flow upstream, and become trapped inside a smaller artery in the brain. Tiffany underwent a five-hour surgery to save her life. She was then taken to the ICU where her family kept praying that the worst was over, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Within 24 hours, Tiffany’s brain swelling became so severe that a second operation was required to once again save her life. A portion of her skull had to be removed in order to make room for the brain to swell without doing further damage. The prognosis at this point was grim; the surgeons explained that she might not survive, or best case she may be severely brain damaged. Her family was devastated, but they kept hopeful because if left up to Tiffany she would beat all the odds. CT scans we’re performed every 24 hours, and a team of doctors, surgeons, and nurses monitored her 24/7. Tiffany was moved through the hospital system, ER, ICU, Progressive, Standard, and finally into the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit where she has resided for several months. The hospital said they had not seen a stroke this severe in more than five years. Through the power of prayer, healing, and over-
whelming love and support from around the world, Tiffany and her family believe they witnessed miracles during her continuing recovery. She has made small steps in the right direction, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy to regain some of the abilities she had before the stroke. Tiffany’s story remains unwritten, but her family and friends believe she was chosen to go through for a very specific reason. During her career as a psychic, author, speaker, and healer she has affected thousands of people in a very positive way. She has changed lives for the better, and the world is a better place because she is in it. She has brought inspiration and hope to so many, but we believe her story of recovery will be the most inspirational gift of all. Tiffany will shine and sparkle once again, but the journey will be long and difficult. To keep up with Tiffany’s daily updates, go to: www. caringbridge.org/visit/tiffanyjohnson1.
