Paradigm Seafoods, llc “Discover the Processed at Sea Difference”

VOL. 1, ISSUE 2

5.8.2018

FORMERLY KNOWN AS GULKANA SEAFOODS DIRECT Mother Nature The 2018 Copper River sockeye season opens May 17th for a 12 hour period. Bill will be on the fishing grounds waiting for the 7:00 am opener, a dance with Mother Nature that determines the productivity of the period. We do our best to fill each and every order in its entirety but the reality is that Mother Nature determines abundance and productivity. We suggest placing your order prior to the beginning of the period as we cut each fish individually -specifically for your order. Any additional harvested fish above and beyond our orders is sold to the shoreside buyers and can not be processed within our specifications for a late incoming order once the fishing period has closed.

Source Conscious Buyers Paradigm Seafoods welcomes source conscious buyers of fresh, wild Alaska Copper River salmon to “Discover the Processed at Sea Difference” from our fisherman-owned family company. The relationship we have with our restaurants, fish brokers, and folks that simply care about where their food comes from is not entered into lightly. We take seriously the integrity of our business and quality of our product -only offering premium processed salmon, harvested, handled, and shipped by the Paradigm Seafoods crew only. Whether you are a source conscious individual, family, restaurant, fish broker or seafood/meat market, we pride ourselves in being your personal fisherman in the most minimal and simplistic supply chain. Each salmon is individually cut and processed specifically for your order. We accept all credit cards and if pre -approved, wholesale customers may choose 15 day net terms. We are currently working on implementing the credit application on the “How to Purchase” page of the website. Once the credit application has been submitted, processed and approved, you will be notified of your new wholesale account, via email, with instructions on how to purchase salmon for your restaurant, fish broker, or seafood/ meat market.

New Booking/Shipping Process Paradigm Seafoods ships fresh, wild caught Alaska Copper River salmon anywhere in the United States utilizing Alaska Airlines, UPS, and FedEx. Alaska Airlines has been the most cost efficient method of shipping fish providing they service a cargo station near you. 2018 is a year of change for Alaska Airlines - implementing a new, more timely and efficient booking process as well as retiring all their 737-400 combo jets and implementing dedicated freighter planes to service the fishing communities of Alaska. We anticipate a smooth transition to these new procedures and freighters, however with anything new, there could also be some bugs to work out; we wont know that until the season is fully underway. Please know that I will be diligently working to make this a smooth and efficient transition and ask that you bear with us and Alaska Airlines as we implement these new procedures. UPS is the favored method of shipping to your door if you are not close to an Alaska Airlines cargo station. With the logistics of shipping fish from Cordova you receive delivery on the second or third day depending on your choice of Next Day Air or 2 Day Air. Paradigm Seafoods packages your fish to maintain cold temperatures throughout transit. FedEx is an alternative method of shipping fish directly to your door. Due to the logistics of shipping fish from Cordova, FedEx incorporates an additional flight charge and an additional day of transit. Again, Paradigm Seafoods packages your fish to best manage the cold chain throughout transit to you.

A Paradigm Shift towards a Processed at Sea Quality Specification Never before has such a high-quality standard ever been devised in a drift gillnet fishery in Alaska. A literal Paradigm Shift in a vertically integrated commercial fishing business model created by Bill Webber has a new and proven level of quality and a specification that simply surpasses the masses in our harvesting method. The stringent quality-handling and at-sea/pre-rigor processing specification at the point-of-harvest that Bill has been perfecting over the past 16 years has fully maximized the shelf life window in a fresh headed and gutted product form. The use of an electronic-automated intravenous pressure bleeding control system, developed by Bill, helps assure these attributes of this new level of unsurpassed quality and freshness in our harvesting method is achieved in a production basis. Our salmon actually goes into rigor mortise in a headed and gutted processed state in the dressed product hold and is held in layered ice right up to the point of shipping to you at core temps of 33-35 degrees F. Because we devoid our salmon of it’s blood, the true flavor of the flesh and oils can be best realized and maintained for a more flavorful dining experience. Stay tuned for more technical information about our unique Processed at Sea Quality Specification. PO Box 1230 * 6.25 Copper River Highway * Cordova, AK 99574 Office: 907-424-5176
