Toilets remain shut as council rules out Dandaloo Street facilities By SOPHIA MCCAUGHAN Following reports in the Narromine Star published in late May, the public toilets inside Kierath’s Shopping Square remain closed indefi nitely. Sydney visitors venture inland for collaboration and community connection By SHARON BONTHUYS A group from Sydney has made the trek to Narromine for the fourth time to work with local churches to run a free vacation outreach program for local youth, all the while encouraging community connection and collaboration. The brainchild of Reverend Andrew “Parko” Parkinson and Martin Kennedy, Inland Connect provides a two-way learning experience through its week-long program that provides activities at the Narromine Baptist Church and Generocity Church in Dandaloo Street, as well as the Narromine Sports and Fitness Centre. The visitors learn just as much as the local churches who are involved, and the young people who benefit from their outreach. “In four years, we’ve gotten to know a lot of families, and we’re learning new things every year,” coordinator Martin Kennedy told Narromine Star at a barbecue lunch put on for the visitors by the Combined Churches of Narromine in Dundas Park last Sunday.
