WHO AM I? z I was born on July 29, 1981, in Oviedo, Spain, and was just three when I first jumped behind the wheel of a kart. z I claimed four back-to-back junior Spanish championships between 1993 and 1996. z I switched to racing cars when 17, and was given a Formula One start just two years later by Australian outfit Minardi. z I earned a test drive with the Renault team a year later. z In my second start for Renault, I became the youngest driver to qualify on pole position at the 2003 Malaysian Grand Prix, preempting my first win and four podium finishes later that season. z I won back-to-back titles in 2005 and 2006. z I switched to McLaren in 2007, then back to Renault in 2008, then onto Ferrari at the end of 2009.
