Weight Training for Teens 13 - 19yrs

Get in shape for your favourite sport or work on muscle development and definition! You will learn how to use the equipment in the weight room and receive a strength program designed specifically for you! Upon successful completion of this course, participants under 15 may visit the weight room at Panorama during supervised times or with a parent/guardian. In addition, participants will be permitted access to the following weight rooms: Esquimalt Recreation Centre, City of Victoria Recreation Centre, Saanich Recreation Centres and West Shore Recreation Centre. Times Colonist 10k Training Clinic

Planning to participate in a 10k walk, jog or run event? Offered throughout Greater Victoria, these citywide training clinics will help you prepare for the Times Colonist 10k: the 25th Anniversary Race will take place on Sunday, April 27, 2014! Your 14 week training program includes a graduated plan for walkers and runners of all levels, expert training tips, and the support and encouragement of experienced leaders. Your clinic will include informative sessions on a variety of topics, such as footwear, nutrition, hydration, injury prevention and cross training. Beginner TRX

An extended spin class for advanced spin participants, triathletes or cyclists wanting to increase their endurance. This class will focus on specific cycling skill sets needed for optimal performance in a longer ride, or gran fondos . These include fixed interval sets, ladders, hill repeats, standing sprints, temp sets and recovery. Using these tools we will simulate some actual rides in the area in readiness for the spring riding season.

Start slowly with the basics of TRX suspension training. Have one of our TRX instructors give you the tools to get a total body workout so you can either workout on your own or join one of our regular TRX classes. No drop in’s permitted due to the progressive nature of the course.

Integrated Exercise for Parkinson’s

This is a group exercise class that is specifically designed to benefit individuals with Parkinson’s disease. This is a lower intensity exercise class that integrates flexibility, cardiovascular, and strength training. All exercises are aimed at improving functional abilities. The latest approaches including Amplitude based training will be utilized when appropriate. The exercises performed in the class can reduce the progression of Parkinson’s and help manage the symptoms. All levels of physical ability and fitness are welcome! During the later stages of recovery, requirements for oneon-one supervision should decrease. Our Kinesiologist will prescribe an exercise program for you to perform on your own with check in and program modifications at 6 week intervals.

If you prefer or require that your exercise program be performed at home, our Kinesiologist can prescribe and monitor a program that you can do in your own home.
