Dr. VICTOR CHOUDHRIE (FICS, FACS, FRCS, FRCSE, FCAMS)
Victor Choudhrie studied medicine at Christian Medical College in Vellore. He married Bindu Sukhnandan and went to England for higher studies in surgery. He returned to serve in Padhar Mission Hospital in a tribal village in District Betul in Madhya Pradesh, India. Later he served as Director of the prestigious Christian Medical College, Ludhiana in Punjab. In 1993 he committed himself fully to bringing about a Saturation Church Planting Movement throughout India, especially in north India. Since then God has blessed this ministry and thousands of house-churches have been planted. This book expounds many profound principles of Saturation Church Planting and gives information on prayer movements across the world. It is also a powerful apostolic study of the Bible. Almost all the petitions and the intercessory prayers are based on the Bible. This book also debunks many extra-biblical excess baggage, the church is carrying as traditions and rituals. We need to get rid of them to make the church more effective tool for greater purposes of God. Whether we know it or not and whether we like it or not, a fierce battle is raging for the souls of men. This decisive battle will be won with wet eyes, bended knees and broken hearts. It also means using your God given gifts and taking authority to usher in the Government of God. This book eminently prepares you for the ongoing spiritual warfare.

READERS SPEAK 1. I don’t know what rubbish I have been praying till I read this book. I learnt more in 3 days training than in 3 years at the seminary. 2. Please send me more copies as I am having a hard time retaining my copy. Anyone glancing through just takes it away. 3. This prayer walk thing really works. Now I would never dream of walking into any village for preaching unless I have first done a prayer walk and located the house of the person of peace. 4. Wow, this spiritual war business, we now have accumulated so many fantastic stories, you will have to arrange a three-day meeting just to listen to the stories. 5. Sitting on the mats, when I shared about the breaking of curses in our women’s training program, the floor was wet with tears. Since then many women have become incredibly effective Christians. 6. I never thought of our servant as a member of our extended family. I have now discipled her and this non-literate sister has planted three house churches. 7. I was an intercessor and thought no more but now I know that transformation is a process and not just an event. 8. Using the Ten Steps, the speed with which we are going around planting churches, this region will not be recognizable in just one decade. 9. “First I baptized my parents and now I am trying hard to baptize my school teacher”. A thirteen-year-old girl attended the seminar on intercession and church planting and within a month baptized 56 people. 10. I like food and hate going to church. Now I like both because the best part of the house church is eating. Praise the Lord. 11. I burnt my butt sitting long hours, searching the scriptures to prove you wrong, that the New Testament is pretty silent on ‘noisy praise and worship’
and loud on ‘making melody in your heart’. Now I know that worship without winning souls and planting churches is like a noisy gong and clanging cymbals. 12. I got infected with the house church bug and thought it was easy but since then I have discovered the hard way how much dismantling both personal and institutionally you have to do. 13. What a shock. All this time I thought that only the pastor was the priest. Now I find that even I, a woman, am a royal priest. 14. Oh, I would love to go and tell all my friends that we are kings and that the government is really upon our shoulders. We never learnt this in our Bible College. I am taking charge of my city. 15. I thought this prayer for repairing the road might work in other places but one day after falling down from my motor cycle, in sheer desperation, instead of cursing, I went and prayed all over the potholed road near my house and lo it was repaired the same night. Incredible. 16. I belong to this road repairing church. I went to my very sorry looking kitchen garden and started blessing those wilted plants every day and told them also to praise God. Within a month, we had enough vegetables for our family and the neighbors. 17. You destroyed my fourteen years of ministry. I was happily lugging heavy load of literature and selling it on the bus stands and railway stations and feeling very satisfied. Then I discovered that I had no ‘fruit that remains’. Three years down the line, I am glad to report that hundreds of house churches have been planted as a result of change in my ministry. 18. My dream was to have a mega church in my city. I thought it was a God given vision. Then I heard about house churches. It was such a climb down that for quite some time I suffered from double vision. Now I have a mega church but it is not confined to a building but all over the place with thousands of worshippers.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT I lay no claim to originality. This book is the result of reading many books, magazines, attending seminars and interaction with hundreds of God’s people from all over world but especially so with the humble church planters at the grass roots. The Book of God, the holy Bible is the perennial source and of course many revelations that come to me practically every day as I prayer walk either around my farm house or in distant cities and remote villages where I go to conduct seminars on Saturation Church Planting. I am grateful for all the encouragement I have received from thousands of Intercessors who have been interceding with the help of this book in Hindi language for the last 5 years. I am also grateful to my wife Bindu, daughter Dr. Manjula and Mitanjali Solomon who have constantly critiqued the contents. I would like to express my thanks to Robert Watson for putting me in touch with Gail Wallace who really deserves my gratefulness for meticulously editing the book and correcting many mistakes. I would like express my very special grateful to DAWN Ministries for helping financially to see this book published. Victor Choudhrie
AUTHOR SPEAK The main purpose of writing this book is to exhort Christians to transform their nation through prayer. 1. God has promised that if ‘My people (Christians) will humble themselves (fast) and pray and seek My face (do His will) and turn from their wicked ways (repent), then from Heaven I will hear their prayers and forgive their sins (sins of the Christians) and heal (save) their land’. (2 Chron. 7: 14) 2. We have been commanded to ask for the nations and the uttermost parts of the earth as our inheritance. We will have no inheritance in the kingdom of God if we do not pray. (Psalm 2: 8) 3. We have been told that the harvest has been ready for the last 2000 years. We have been specifically commanded to pray to the Lord of the harvest for the laborers. (Matt. 9: 37, 38) 4. We have been asked to pray for the kings and those who rule and have authority over us so that we will live in peace. (1 Timothy 2: 1, 2) 5. Finally we have been commanded to pray without ceasing. (2 Thess. 5: 17) The destiny of our nation depends entirely on intercessors. Unless God has been moved with massive relentless agonizing intercession and repentance no strategy will work. Prayerlessness is at the root of all fruitlessness. All failure to move God is failure to pray. We can cook up reports but only our intercession can change this nation. (Psalm 126:5, 6) Therefore, He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. (Heb. 7:25)

INTRODUCTION End Vision: True prayer is to know the will of the Father and to ask for the resources to do it. (Luke 22: 41, 42; 1 John 5: 14). The will of God the Father is that none should perish but all mankind should be saved and come to know the truth (1 Timothy 2: 1-4). It is His desire that His kingdom come and His will be done in our hearts, homes, cities and countries. This is the main theme of the Lord’s Prayer. God’s ‘end vision’ is that people of all nations, tribes, languages and people groups may stand before His throne and have the opportunity to worship their Creator. Only wet eyes, bended knees and broken hearts can change the world. (Revelations 7: 9, 10) Redemptive Prayers Are Result Oriented: The Old Testament prophets were all great men of focused prayer. Abraham prayed and barrenness was healed from the family of Abimelech. (Genesis 20: 17, 18)
Even in the New Testament times the disciples prayed together with one accord and the Holy Spirit came as tongues of fire on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2: 14). They prayed again and the whole place was shaken and they spoke the word of God with boldness. (Acts 4: 31) Exemplary Prayers: There are many exhortations and examples of different kinds of prayers in the Bible. Supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks for rulers and those in authority (1 Timothy 2: 1, 2); Prayer for your city (Jeremiah 29: 7); Spiritual warfare prayer (Ephesians 6: 10-18); Prayer and fasting for guidance (Daniel 9: 2, 3); Prayer with tears (Jeremiah 9: 1); Prayer for reaping harvest (Psalm 126: 5, 6); Prayer without ceasing (Ephesians 6: 18; 1 Thessalonians 5: 17); Effective prayer (James 5: 16); Result oriented prayer (Luke 18: 1-8); Prayer for signs and miracles (Acts 4: 30); Prayer at the time of persecution (Acts 4: 21- 31); Prayer for raising the dead (Acts 9: 40); Praise and worship. (Psalm 100: 4, 5)
Daniel prayed and God revealed to him the dream of a gentile king that a small stone (the Church) will smash all the demonic kingdoms of the world, grow and fill the earth with the gospel. He again fasted and prayed and started a battle in the heavenly places and the angels of God soundly defeated the angels of the devil, the prince of the power of the air. (Daniel 2: 44, 45, 10: 13; 20; Ephesians 2: 2)
The Church is Anti-Labor: The church stands accused as ‘Anti Labor’. It has millions of laborers who have been rendered useless by dubbing them as ‘laymen’. While the Lord is asking for laborers, the church is preoccupied with leaders. He has compassion on those who labor and are heavy laden and hence commanded us to pray specifically to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest fields (Matthew 9: 37, 38). But the church has no compassion for the lost and keeps sending highly qualified leaders to the mission compounds, where there is no harvest. Today millions of laborers are needed to redeem a large harvest of souls in our country. It is the job description of every believer to be a laborer in the Lord’s vineyard, only then can the whole nation be reaped. We have been ‘chosen to bear abundant fruit that remains’.
Elijah prayed and the heavens shut up for 3 years. When he prayed again, the fire came down from heaven, destroyed 400 priests of Baal. The sky poured out rains and the earth produced its fruit. (James 5: 17)
Abundant Sowing - Abundant Harvest: It is the business of the church to focus on equipping every believer as a laborer. We have been chosen to be fruitful (John 15: 16). Abundant sowing of
Moses prayed with hands raised and Joshua won the battle with the Amalekites. (Exodus 17: 8-16) Nehemiah repented for the sins of his forefathers and broke ancestral curses. He built the seven-kilometer long wall of Jerusalem in 52 days. (Nehemiah 1: 4-7)
the Gospel will result in abundant harvest only when it is bathed in prayer (2 Corinthians 9: 6). We can already see that as more and more people are praying, a large harvest has already started coming in, especially in the developing nations of Asia, Africa and South America and even in the Muslim world. Goat Prayer: - We have been saved to pray and take care of the least and lost of this world. Sadly many Christians pray, “for me, my dear ones, my job, my needs and of course my sweet sleep.” This me me me, like the bleating of a goat, is a very selfish prayer. When the angels come to reap the harvest, the goats will be consigned to hell. (Matthew 25: 31-46) Pray, Proclaim, Possess and Rule: You are a prophet, priest and king and not just a laymen. Every prophet and priest is an intercessor. God has appointed us a watchman to guard our city against all demonic activity (Isaiah 62: 6-12) because God does not want that any one should perish but all should have an opportunity to repent (2 Peter 3: 9). Lord Jesus is building His church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16: 18) It is the business of the church to demolish all strongholds and establish His kingdom. It takes only two or three to gather in His name and demolish the strongholds because Lord Himself is the great demolisher (Matthew 18: 18-20; 1 John 3: 8). That is why God has asked us to pray and possess nations and the land because they will be our everlasting heritage (Psalm 2: 8). He is the King of kings and through His blood He has made us kings and we must rule on His behalf. (Revelations 5: 10, Romans 5: 17) Be a Great Commissioner: The Lord Jesus Christ came into the world to seek and save the lost sheep (Matt 18: 11-14; Luke 19: 10). Even as He was being taken up He said, “You shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1: 8). He gave the Great Commission to go and make disciples of all nations. (Matt 28: 18-20). He said that the end will come when this Commission is fulfilled (Matthew 24: 14). Jesus Christ will then return for 11
our judgment. Our salvation depends on our faith and our judgment depends on our works. (Ephesians.2: 8-10; James 2: 14-20) Sure Way to Stand Before the Throne: If you do not have everlasting inheritance i.e. saved souls, then you should immediately get busy investing all your time, gifts and your wealth in fulfilling the Great Commission. This way you will be able to stand boldly before the throne and praise God along with your group of believers, the fruit of your labor. When every believer becomes a soul winner then only every tribe, race, language and nation will be able to stand before the throne of God. (Revelations 5: 9, 10) Train and Multiply Prayer Warriors and Win the Battle: At the very outset of His ministry, Lord Jesus announced, ‘Repent for the kingdom of God is near.’At His first encounter with the disciples He told them that He would make them ‘fishers of men’. One of the first things He taught them was the Lord’s Prayer. Let us not forget that first of all we are fishers of men and our business is to bring people to repentance. No one can catch ‘fish’ without prayers and no ‘fish’ will repent without prayers. This is the only way a vast army of fishers of men can be prepared who will in turn bring others to repentance and His kingdom will come. Therefore it is the responsibility of every believer not only to be an intercessor but also to reproduce and multiply many fishers of men. God’s kingdom will advance only as fast as the number of fishers of men will grow. Eat, Meet and Multiply: Eating meals together is a very important aspect of the church because it is the body of Christ and it needs both physical and spiritual food to stay healthy. Eating was a very important part of the ministry of Jesus. He fed the multitudes, ate in people’s homes and sometimes invited Himself to the houses of sinners and tax collectors. He was even accused of being a glutton and a winebibber (Luke 7: 34). He fed roast lamb, bread, wine and bitter herb for the Last Supper. He commanded them to do the same. Accordingly whenever they 12
met, they also ate (1 Corinthians 11: 20; Acts 20: 7). He says that when He knocks on the door and if you will open it then He will come in and will have supper with you and your household. He instructed His disciples that when they go to preach, they must stay in the house of the ‘person of peace’ and eat. (Luke 10: 7, 8). Eating together is of strategic importance because table fellowship is a very powerful message of love and unity especially in our caste, color and status ridden society. Muslims claim their universal brotherhood from the fact that they eat from the same platter. As far as possible, gather frequently, in order to pray, search the Scriptures and have simple fellowship meals. We should share both our material and spiritual blessings. This way the Lord will add new believers and the church will grow and multiply. This is truly the Holy Communion. (Acts 2: 42-47) The Stakes are High; Pray to Change Your Nation: God has promised, “If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray seeking My face, and turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land.” This is a clarion call for us to change our nation by our intercession. As the stakes are high, we should not pray for less. As you persevere, little by little the Lord will reveal to you His strategy for transforming your nation. (Exodus 23: 30) The Holy Spirit is Given to Us to Save Souls: Jesus has assured us that if we ask we will receive the Holy Spirit (Luke 11: 13). The Holy Spirit empowers us to be His witnesses to the ends of the earth. He reveals to us, that the gentiles should be saved (Ephesians 3: 5, 6). On the day of Pentecost 120 people were anointed and they immediately baptized 3,000 people. In the same manner throughout the Acts of the Apostles, whenever the Holy Spirit was received, signs, miracles, baptisms, multiplication and expansion of the kingdom took place. (Acts 6: 6, 7, 10: 44-48, 13: 3, 19: 6-10)
Test the Spirit and Check the Brand: Many brilliant but false apostles and prophets have infiltrated the church. If Satan can transform himself into an angel of light, it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness whose end will be according to their works (2 Corinthians 11: 14, 15). If the church has no burden for the unreached then test the spirit because, ‘another kind of spirit and another kind of gospel’ may be operating in your church (2 Cor 11: 3, 4). If you have truly received the gift of the Holy Spirit then you will not only be talking in tongues on Sundays but will also be busy talking to the Gentiles every day (1 Cor. 14:24-26). It is of no use having a wonderful praise and worship service every Sunday and then not doing His will, the rest of the week. It amounts to being Mr. & Ms. Hallelujah on Sundays and Mr. & Ms. Secular on weekdays. The Whole Body must Pray: When Peter was in jail, the church had no agenda other than to pray for Peter. The result- a supernatural release of Peter (Acts 12: 5). It is not the function of the clergy alone or some super Christians to pray, but every part of the whole body must be joined and knit together for effective working so that the church can grow and be edified (Ephesians 4: 16). If part of the Church does not function then it a disabled body. If most of the church does not pray together then it is a cripple. It is mandatory for everyone to participate otherwise the prayers will not be of ‘one accord’. A house divided cannot stand (Matthew 12: 25). Therefore keep the church only as big or as small, as it can function together. A house church is an ideal place for praying ‘with one accord’. (Acts 4: 24, 31) Beware: The Devil is a Smart Guy Your adversary the Devil is very smart and has had over 6000 years of experience in deceiving people. He has the audacity to accuse you right in front of the throne. He can even interfere when you are fasting and praying. However, never consider yourself unworthy to pray even though you are “not trained in 14
speech (2 Corinthians 11: 5, 6). None of us really knows what to pray and how to pray but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings, which cannot be uttered (Romans 8: 26, 27). We have complete assurance that no weapon formed against an intercessor can prosper.. (Isaiah 54: 17) Jesus the Perfect Intercessor: The Lord Jesus Christ is the lamb slain for our sins from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13: 8). He identified Himself completely with the sinners when He was numbered with the transgressors. He interceded and died for them (Isaiah 53: 12). In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears. Finally, through His intercession on the cross, He openly disarmed the devil. Since then He has been interceding non-stop in heaven at the right hand of the Father, for the past two thousand years. (Hebrews 5: 7; 7: 25) The True Intercessor: Identification: Firstly Jesus identified himself totally with the sins of people. Agonizing: Secondly he agonized for them with tears. Taking Authority: thirdly he not only interceded but also took authority and systematically destroyed every yoke of the Satan to release people. It is a Process: Finally he continues to intercede until they have an inheritance in the kingdom of God. This is true intercession. Warning: The Punishment Starts at the Sanctuary: Only those who cry and sigh for others will enter the Kingdom while the rest will be mercilessly destroyed. Do not be deceived, the destruction starts at the sanctuary. (Ezekiel 9: 3-6)
FASTING All Great Men Fasted: From the very beginning the prophets and saints have given importance to fasting. Moses fasted without bread or water for forty days and nights and God gave him the Ten Commandments (Exodus 34: 28). Daniel (10: 2-3), Nehemiah (9: 1, 2), David (Psalm 109: 24) and Queen Esther fasted and prayed in times of trouble. (Esther 4: 13-16) A Nation survives Holocaust by Fasting: One hundred and twenty thousand people of Nineveh, the king himself and all his subjects including the beasts fasted. Consequently the Lord forgave them. (Jonah 4: 11) Fast and see Jesus Incarnate: The grand old prophetess Anna spent most of her life fasting and praying and was rewarded the privilege of holding baby Jesus in her arms (Luke 2: 36-38). The Pharisees complained to Jesus that his disciples do not fast, but Jesus assured them that the days would come when they will also fast. (Matthew 9: 14, 15) Fast and Break Yokes: Prophet Isaiah teaches us that if we continue with worldly pursuits, while fasting, then our prayers will not be heard. God is pleased with such fasting, in which we loose the bonds of wickedness and break the yoke of the oppressed, when we bring the orphans to our homes and cover the naked with clothes and do not turn our faces from the servants of God. Then the light shines on us and healing comes to us. The Lord then hastens to listen to us when we call on him. (Isaiah 58: 3-12) Fast or Feast: Today the leaders of the church are appointed with much feasting where as in the New Testament churches, the elders were appointed with much fasting. (Acts 14: 23) The entire Church of Antioch prayed and fasted together and the Holy Spirit chose Paul and Barnabas to be sent as missionaries (Acts 13: 1-3). Apostle Paul used to fast a lot (2 Corinthians) therefore his ministry was very fruitful.
Fasting Includes Time and Resources: No undue pressure can be put on God (Exodus 32: 31-33); therefore one should not fast for selfish worldly needs, or just to impress others. Fast is kept to come closer to God and to know His will and fulfill his desire. (Zechariah 7: 5). Fasting does not mean only giving up your food but also sharing your wealth, time and even giving up your sleep. God asked Israelites to humble themselves. David humbled himself with fasting and persistent prayer. (Psalm 35: 13) The prophet Isaiah, like a faithful watchman kept fasting and praying over the walls of Jerusalem for his city to become praise on the earth. In the same way, we have to fast and pray till our city becomes a place of prayer and praise. (Isaiah 62: 6, 7) When we go on a prayer journey while fasting, the Holy Spirit prepares us for spiritual warfare. We submit to God and come closer to Him (James 4: 7, 8). The identity and the activities of the evil spirits are revealed and we can then wrestle with them. (Ephesians 6: 12) Fast and the Demons will Make a Fast Exit: Lord Jesus fasted for forty days. He was filled with Holy Spirit. He confronted Satan and demolished him (Luke 4: 1, 14). Whether you know it or not and whether you like it or not, Satan is your adversary and the accuser, who is fully committed to destroy you. If you want to seriously fight with him, then fasting is a very effective weapon. Only then the strongman will be bound, his kingdom will be plundered and the Kingdom of God will come. (Matthew 12: 28, 29)
Day: Monday The Great Commission All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28: 18-20) 1. 2. 3. 4.
First Monday of the month People Groups (PG) of the World
(Jeremiah 16: 19)
Second Monday of the month People-Groups (PG’s) of Our Nation.
(Jeremiah 17: 14)
Third Monday of the month People Groups of the Region.
(Isaiah 55: 36)
Fourth Monday of the month Local People Groups
You have been commissioned to make disciples. Therefore go and make disciples.
The Lord Jesus taught His disciples that certain evil spirits do not go away except by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17: 21; Mark 9: 29). Without expelling the demons, the churches cannot be planted (Matthew 12: 28, 29). Regardless of age or sex, expelling demons and curing diseases are the fundamental rights and identity marks of every believer. For this we need to fast and pray. (Mark 16: 17) 17
(Acts 3: 19)
First Monday of the Month Subject: People Groups (PG’s) of the World Ask of Me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for your possession. (Psalm 2: 8) There are at least 25, 000 different People Groups in the world and the number is growing every day. Most of them have yet to hear the Gospel in their own culture, language and context. There are 600 crore (6 billion) people in the world, out of them 200 crores (2 billion) are Christians, some with the full Gospel, others with a half-baked Gospel and yet others with ‘some other gospel’. Nevertheless Christianity is growing as never before, predominantly by conversion. Worldwide 185,000 people are coming to Christ everyday. There are 120 crores (1.2 billion) Muslims who are also growing rapidly biologically as well as by conversion, often with the help of the sword. 80 crores (800 million) Hindus have successfully introduced the New Age philosophy throughout the world. Yoga (blanking out through meditation) can connect you with the spirit world and attain ‘self realization’. You can now say ‘Aham Bramhasmi’ meaning ‘I am god’. Trishul or trident, a three-pronged spear is their symbolic weapon of destruction. There are 40 crores (400 million) Buddhists in the world. There are many types of Buddhism. The most sinister is ‘Tantric’ based on occult. Dalai Lama is the head of the heavily cultic Tibetan Buddhism. There are 20 crores (200 million) Tribals or Indigenous peoples who are animists and worship nature and the ‘spirits’ which inhabit nature. There are 100 crore (1 billion) Atheists who do not believe in God. While the God of nations has commanded us to ask for nations as our inheritance, sadly we have not even bothered to pray or share the Gospel with our neighbors. 19
:: PRAYER :: 1. Father, You are Jehovah Nissi, our banner. When Joshua fought against the Amalek, Moses, Aaron and Hur went up on the mountain and raised the banner. As long as Moses’ hands were up, Joshua won. Now Jesus is our banner who always leads us in triumph everywhere. Father listens to Your intercessors when they raise their holy hands to pray. (Exodus 17: 10-16; 1 Timothy 2: 8) 2. O Lord of the nations, we declare in the name of Jesus Christ that the people of all nations be loosed from the bondage of lies and deception. We announce liberty to them to know Jesus that He is the way, the truth and life because no one can go to the Father except through Jesus the Savior. (John 14: 6; 1Timothy 2: 4) 3. O Lord of the harvest, we beseech You to raise up countless bearers of the good news from every nation who will go and reap the harvest. We pray that every Christian will know that he is the light and salt of the earth (Matthew 9: 37, 38; 5: 13-16) 4. We pray that nations will not war against nations. Instead they will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. That every nation will know the Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 2: 4) 5. We especially pray that the light of the gospel may penetrate through the deep darkness in the developing nations of the 10°/40° window and a vast spiritual harvest be gathered from them. (Luke 2: 30-32) 6. We praise You because kings and nations are bringing their glory to you and daily 185, 000 people are already coming into Your kingdom worldwide. Grant that through our intercession many more will stand before Your throne and worship You. (Revelations 21: 24-26) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 20
Second Monday of the Month Subject: People-Groups (PG’s) of Our Nation. “...I send you, to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.” (Acts 26: 17, 18) The population of India is now more than 100 crores (one billion). There are 2.5 crores (25 million) Christians, 18 crore (180 million) Scheduled Castes, 10 crore (100 million) Tribals or indigenous peoples, 13 crore (130 million) high caste Hindus, 14 crores (140 million) Muslims, 45 crores (450 million) Other Backward Castes (OBC’s) like Yadav & Parmar etc. A decade ago only 200 PGs were reached but praise God, that church-planting movement has now started among 800 castes. There are 3000 endogamous Hindu castes in India. Caste system is a curse, the worst form of apartheid, which divides people into high castes and the untouchables (from birth) for which there is no remedy. Social, economic, educational, government, business, banks and media, everything works in favor of the privileged castes while the lower castes are born to serve them as slaves. Even the Christian schools and hospitals predominantly serve the upper castes. There are 140 million Muslims. The Constitution of India allows every citizen to preach the Gospel. In 1990 there were less than 100 Christians who are in full time ministry to the Muslim neighbors. The sword of Islam is now in ferment and urgently needs to be beaten into peaceful plowshares through the Injil of Isa (Gospel of Jesus). (Isaiah 2: 4) Similarly millions of Tribals are still worshipping nature and evil spirits while the Buddhists are left to believe in a religion, which has no God. “Who will go for us?” God is looking for people who will say, “Here am I! Send me.” (Isaiah 6: 8) 21
:: PRAYER:: 1. O Lord everything and all people were created by You for Your glory but people have rejected You by worshipping millions of other gods and goddesses. We pray that people may know that in You there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free but Christ is all in all. (Colossians 1: 16; 3: 11) 2. We pray that all the atrocities committed in the name of religion be banished from our country and Your righteous kingdom come. Father let those who are burdened and heavy laden hear Your call and come to You and find rest. 3. Father, the whole creation is eagerly waiting for the revealing of Your sons. Lord let Your children reject the spirit of bondage and receive the Spirit of adoption and cry out and call You, ‘Abba Father’. That they may be led by the Spirit and become Your children. (Romans 8: 14, 15, 19) 4. Lord, all those who call on Your name will be saved. But they will be able to call on Your name only when we go and preach. We pray that the Gentiles may believe in their hearts that You have risen from the dead and confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord. (Romans 10: 9, 10, 13-15) 5. We proclaim to the people who dwell in the shadow of death that they should see the great light. Therefore all you people chosen from the foundations of the earth “arise, shine and purify yourselves because the time for your salvation has come”. (Isaiah 9: 2; 60: 1-3) 6. O Lord we thank You that soon the Gospel will be preached and the people of all nations, tribes, languages and people groups will joyfully stand before Your throne, wearing white gowns and holding palms in their hands to praise and worship You. (Matthew 24: 14) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 22
INTERCESSION An intercessor is a person who pleads for someone else. A spiritual intercessor pleads to God for those who are unable to pray for themselves. Those who pray for others then become saints and God hears the prayers of the saints. (Revelations 8: 3, 4) The Holy Scriptures is full of people who interceded for others. Abraham interceded for the sinful cities of Sodom and Gomorrah but since he could not find ten righteous people in them, the cities were destroyed. (Genesis 18: 25) Similarly when the Israelites committed a great sin by worshipping the golden calf then Moses interceded before God. He was willing to give up his own place in heaven for the sake of his people. Moses asked God to blot out his name from the Book of Life if He could not forgive them. (Exodus 32: 32) Daniel, Nehemiah, Ezra, David and other prophets saved their people through their mighty prevailing prayer. Queen Esther interceded through fasting and prayer and saved the Jewish nation. (Esther 4: 16) Elijah’s intercession brought down fire on the sacrifice and resulted in the destruction of four hundred priests of ‘Baal’. Further intercession turned the fist size cloud into heavy rain. (1 Kings 18: 36-38) Joshua and his people silently prayed to God as they marched around the city of Jericho and when they shouted with a loud shout, its walls came tumbling down. (Joshua 6: 20) By Jonah’s prayer walk, the King of Nineveh and one hundred and twenty thousand people put on sackcloth, fasted and repented and were saved from disaster. (Jonah 3: 4-10; 4: 11)
healed.” And his servant was healed the same hour. Lord Jesus was greatly impressed with the faith of this gentile. (Matthew 8: 5-13) When Peter was in the jail, the believers interceded earnestly with one accord and the doors of the jail were opened. (Acts 12: 5-12) The church of Corinth interceded for Paul and he escaped death. Paul regularly interceded with tears for churches and their leaders. (2 Corinthians 1: 8-11; Ephesians 1: 15-19) The example of our Lord is exemplary, when He interceded from the cross, for those who crucified Him saying, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” The Lord Jesus has been our mediator for the past 2000 years. (Luke 23: 34) Even though King Saul had fallen from the grace of God and his kingdom had been torn apart, still the prophet Samuel prayed for him. Not praying for the fallen people is a sin. (1 Samuel 12: 23) From the life of Job we learn that intercession for others gave double benefit to him. Of course he himself was healed of his terrible sufferings and his friends were also saved. (Job 42: 10) God is looking for intercessors for this land who are prepared to stand in the gap. Aaron stood between the dead and the dying and interceded and the plague stopped. Today there is a big divide between God and the perishing. Therefore, God is looking for such people who are willing to take the risk of losing everything and stand in the gap to save others from getting lost. (Numbers 16: 45-48; Ezekiel 22: 30)
The New Testament is also full of Intercessors. A gentile Centurion interceded for his sick servant saying “.... Only speak the word, and my servant will be
Nowadays, many believers are choosing people groups and territories and seriously interceding for them. It is very encouraging to hear so many stories of people who interceded for others and how they were miraculously rewarded. Be an intercessor and save your nation.
Third Monday of the Month Subject: People Groups (PG’s) of the Region. “For You were slain and have redeemed us to God by Your blood, out of every tribe, tongue, people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth. (Revelation 5: 9, 10) At least four kinds of churches are mentioned in the New Testament. First there were House churches, which met in the homes of believers like Pricilla and Aquilla (1Corinthians 16: 19). Second there were City churches in Rome, Corinth, and Ephesus etc. The city churches were the network of house churches. Third there were Regional churches of Asia and Galatia and others. They were the network of city churches. All these were praying churches and therefore rapidly growing and multiplying. Finally there is the Church Universal of those whose names are written in the Book of the Lamb. Lord Jesus started His ministry in the region of Galilee (Luke 4: 13-15). “The gentiles who sat in darkness in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali saw a great light” (Matt. 4: 13-16). Peter preached the Gospel throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria. Paul preached throughout the regions of Asia, Galatia, and Macedonia. In fact throughout his life, it was his aim to preach the Gospel to ‘regions beyond’ (2 Corinthians 10: 16). Phoebe took Paul’s letter to Rome and presumably read it and explained it to them. The Lord has given us the geographical Great Commission to be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth. (Acts 1: 8; Romans 16: 1, 2) Satan’s strategy of destruction and desolation is global. Region by region, he is successfully implementing his plan. Satan is only afraid of praying saints (James 4: 7). Gentiles who sit in darkness in your region urgently need your intercession so that they can also see the great light of the gospel. Let not the Lord say to us that “I know your works that you are neither cold nor hot. Therefore be zealous and repent otherwise I will vomit you out of My mouth” Jesus finds lukewarm Christians nauseating.(Revelation 3: 15, 16, 19) 25
:: PRAYER:: 1. Father, You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. You provided a substitute ram for Isaac when he was about to be sacrificed. But for the redemption of all humankind You provided Your Son as full and final sacrifice. Everyone has sinned and come short of Your glory but in the blood of the Lamb, there is provision for redemption of every sinner (Genesis 22: 8, 14; Hebrew 10: 12) 2. O Lord, we pray that the people of this region may come to repentance from their dead works. May those who sit in darkness see the great light of the gospel and be redeemed from the power of the Satan. We pray that they may find inheritance with the saints in Your kingdom. (Acts 26: 17, 18) 3. O Lord we pray that You sanctify by truth, spiritual leaders who will take the present fruitless program based churches out of the narrow denominational and institutional boundaries and send us to ‘regions beyond’ where the gospel is yet to be preached. Father as You sent Jesus, send us also. (John 17: 15-18) 4. O Lord of the harvest, we pray that the believers should lift up their eyes and look at the fields that are ripe for the harvest. That our hearts may be hot within us with a burning desire for reaping a large harvest, lest You vomit us out. (John 4: 35; Psalm 39: 3) 5. O Lord, may a great host of women intercessors and church planters be raised from every tribe, language, region and People Group who will pray with tears of great burden for the redemption of their own people. (Psalm 68: 11; Jeremiah 9: 17-21) 6. We thank You Lord, for the assurance that, ‘he who overcomes and keeps Your works until the end, to him You will give power over the nations’. Lord help us to be over comers. (Revelation 2: 26) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 26
Fourth Monday of the Month Subject: Local People Groups (PG’s) “I was sought by those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am’, to a nation that was not called by My name.” (Isaiah 65: 1) When the opposition put a decree against anybody who would pray to one true God, Daniel boldly opened his window and prayed. Consequently he was thrown into the den of the lions, but God saved him in a miraculous way. The Gentile King Darius was so impressed by this event that he decreed that all his peoples in one hundred and twenty seven provinces should tremble before the living God of Daniel. (Daniel 6: 25-27) We need prayer warriors who will boldly pray to one true God for the people of our area. We need to intercede especially for those who oppose God. Our God will act in miraculous ways and change our neighborhood. Daniel fasted and prayed. His prayer was heard from day one, even though it took three weeks for him to receive the answer. He did not know that he had started a war in the heavenly places. (Daniel 10: 12, 13) The best way to saturate your area with the gospel is to prayer walk the area until the evil powers in the heavenlies are broken. You will be praying on site with insight. In one experiment a group of intercessors prayer walked a block of flats daily for several days and left the neighboring block alone. Later when contacted over 70 percent of the families of the prayer walked block invited the intercessors while 90 percent rejected them in the un-walked block. Declare as you prayer walk that, “There is no salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4: 12). You will be invited into a ‘House of Peace’ (Luke 10: 5-9), just like Peter was invited into the house of Cornelius and Paul was invited to the house of Lydia. This is where you will plant ‘A house of prayer for all nations’.
: PRAYER : 1. O Father, You are Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals. You healed the bitter waters of Marah with the leaves of a tree. Father, soon the bitterness among the nations will be healed with the leaves of the tree of life. Father let all curses be removed and the healing of nations begin now. (Revelation 22: 1-3; Exodus 15: 22-26) 2. O Father we pray that Christians will not be cowardly otherwise like the unbelievers, murderers, idolaters, sorcerers, sexually immoral and all liars they will also end up in the lake of fire. We pray that Christians will fast, turn from their cowardly ways and intercede boldly like Daniel. (Revelations 21:8; Daniel 9: 3-9) 3. We pray that as a result of our intercession, the hearts, homes, purses and dining tables of non-believers will be opened for prayer, teaching, fellowship, baptism, breaking of bread and many new souls will be added to your kingdom everyday. (Acts 2: 42-47) 4. Father, if we diligently heed Your voice and keep Your commandments then we will have no diseases. We pray that believers will exercise their authority in You and make the blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk, those suffering with leprosy will be healed and the dead will be raised. (Exodus 15: 26; Matthew 11: 5) 5. O Lord of the harvest, we beseech you to send a vast army of bold prayer warriors like Daniel who will dare to go into the lions’ den and church planters like Paul who are willing to suffer persecution for their faith. (1 Corinthians 4: 9-13) 6. Thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. This is the inheritance of the children of the household of God and heirs of Christ (Ephesians 2: 19; 2 Corinthians 2: 14) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today.
GLOBAL PRAYER EXPLOSION From Graveyard of Missions to Vineyard In recent years there has been astonishing developments in global prayer movements resulting in phenomenal church growth. In all instances, prayer preceded the blessing. In the 1990’s there were less than 100 prayer chains around the world but today there are at least 4000 known and many more unknown places where people pray round the clock. 1. In 1960, 70% of Christians lived in America and Europe, while 30% Christians lived in developing nations. These statistics were reversed in 1995 and now only 30% of the Christians live in the Western countries while 70% Christians, mostly young, live in other countries. The church is getting younger day by day. 2. In 1983 Open Doors called for seven years of prayer for the fall of the Iron curtain. Exactly seven years later in December 1989 the Berlin wall came crumbling down and so has communism in many countries. For example, China had only 1 million nominal Christians in 1947. Now they are the largest church in the world with 100 million praying Christians. They do not have church buildings, missionaries or foreign money, but they have lots of prayer warriors. 3. Indonesia is the biggest Muslim country. Of the 220 million people, 25% have become Christians. This has caused much persecution by the Muslims and thousands of believers have been killed. Mombassa, a big city in Africa, had a 95% Muslim population just a few years ago, is now 60% Christian. Muslim Imams in Sudan are seeing dreams and visions of Isa of the Injil (Jesus of the New Testament). Bangladesh, Kazhakistan, and many Arab countries, now have thousands of secret believers listening to gospel radio broadcasts. 4. In Africa about 20, 000 people are accepting Jesus Christ everyday. They are jumping straight out of the evil Voodoo and dancing in to the charismatic churches. Ethiopia has grown from 50,000 to three million in the last decade. 29
5. South American countries like Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, and Columbia are mostly Catholic. 20,000 Catholics are joining the Charismatic Churches everyday. They have the largest prayer network of 25 million people. 6. Nepal, constitutionally a Hindu nation had only 50 Christians in 1960. Many were in prison where they prayed. Now there are 300, 000 believers in Nepal. Similarly many Buddhist nations like South Korea, Singapore, and Cambodia have shown phenomenal church growth, all preceded by prayer concerts, prayer summits, 30-day prayer for Muslims and Billion-hour prayer for Buddhists etc. 7. Great changes are taking place in India too. Millions of international intercessors prayed for Kumbh Mela in the year 2000. As a result, in the year 2004 alone, nearly 50,000 house churches were planted all over India. North India, the graveyard of missions is now blossoming into a fruitful vineyard. 8. Thousands of new believers worldwide who are being added to the church daily are young. The Pentecostals, Charismatics, Evangelicals, the Great Commission Christians, Churchless and Crypto (underground) Christians are the fastest growing groups. But these are only raindrops of blessings. Please pray for showers. 9. If there is barrenness i.e. no new believers are being added to your church, then the first reason is lack of fasting and prayer. The second reason is lack of ‘skilled’ church planters. The third reason is lack of love among the Christians because then the world will simply refuse to believe in Jesus. The Fourth reason is that the ‘strongman’ has not been bound thus leaving him free to do whatever he likes. Finally there might be curses, which need to be broken. Some or all the above factors can operate at the same time. 10. The first thing is to start fasting and praying and ask the Lord to show the problem and the solution. The church is the Bride and therefore she must be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. 30
THE HOUSE CHURCH The House-Church is the original New Testament Church. For 300 years after the ascension of the Lord, the church met in homes. In A.D. 322 King Constantine built a big cathedral in Rome, appointed professional priests and the daily gatherings of believers came to an end. In the house church, believers met regularly and not only on Sundays. They worshipped, studied the word, prayed, and shared simple meals together. They also baptized each other and many signs and wonders took place and new believers were added regularly. The house church also provided perfect setting for local leadership development, which resulted in rapid growth and multiplication of the church. No expenditure was involved in running the church so all the income could be used for supporting the church planters (apostles). There are many references in the New Testament about the house churches. (Romans 16: 5, Philemon: 2, Colossians 4: 15, 1 Corinthians 16: 19). Major events like the Last Supper and the descent of the Holy Spirit on the day of the Pentecost took place in homes. Even the wedding at Cana took place in a home situation. This was a complete Church, which met the entire spiritual, emotional, social and even economic needs of the people. Women actively participated in prayer, prophecy and in church planting. Young people like Titus and Timothy appointed elders in Churches. (Titus 1: 5) House churches also sent missionaries. The Church of Antioch not only sent Paul and Barnabas but also missionaries to India. The Syrian church in Kerala still owes its allegiance to the Patriarch of Antioch. Sadly, this church and its off shoots failed to evangelize India. Two thousand years later it took the Pentecostals to take the flame to the rest of India and beyond. Unfortunately, the Pentecostals are also rapidly loosing the vision of the ‘Founding fathers’ and going after ‘Funding fathers.’ Perhaps the Lord is rebuilding the original network of house churches in the city, which like the first century churches will be named after their cities. 31
Day: Tuesday Subject: Prayer for ‘The Ends of the Earth’ “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1: 8) 1. 2. 3. 4.
First Tuesday of the Month: Prayer for All Nations
(Acts 1: 8)
Second Tuesday of the Month: Prayer for India
(2 Chronicles 7: 14)
Third Tuesday of the Month: Pray for Your Region
(Joshua 18: 3)
Fourth Tuesday of the Month: Prayer for Shanty Towns
(Joshua 1: 3)
You are a witness – share your testimony (Acts 1: 8) Say with Jesus and do it and see the world transform right before your eyes “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4: 18, 19) Remember, you are anointed for the same purpose as Jesus your Master
First Tuesday of the Month Subject: Prayer for All Nations “Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst, says the Lord. Many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me to you.” (Zechariah 2: 10, 11) There are 244 countries in the world. There are many countries where the gospel is still to be preached. Today we will pray for the continents of Asia, Europe, Africa, North and South America and Australia. We will specially pray for the 68 countries of 10°/40° window, which you will find in the map on page (73). Africa, Middle East, South-East and Central Asia, India and China carry large populations of the people who have yet to hear the gospel. About 4 billion people live in these countries. More than 50% of the population is young. Majority of women are illiterate. Only 3% of Asians are Christians.
::PRAYER:: 1. Father, You are Jehovah Nissi, our banner. We pray that all nations and countries will come under Your banner. That Your will be done in all the 244 countries of the world as it is done in heaven. We pray that the rule of Satan be broken in Your name and that they may be set at liberty. We specially pray for our neighboring countries of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, China, SriLanka, Myanmar and Tibet. We also pray for those countries where Indians have gone and made their homes. May they hear the gospel in the countries of their adoption. (Colossians 1: 13-17; 26-28) 2. We pray for all Muslim countries like, Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Indonesia, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Algeria, Palestine, Afghanistan and declare that Jesus the Son of God shed His blood for all has overcome death by defeating Satan on the cross. 3. We pray for Buddhist countries, like Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan etc. That their spiritual eyes may be opened and they may see Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Most of the people of these countries are poor, oppressed and live in spiritual darkness. They are broken hearted and are captives of Satan. They are in bondage to the local ‘strongman’ and need to be set at liberty by opening their minds’ eyes through the light of the gospel.
4. We pray for Communist countries, which are atheists like China, Russia, Cuba, Albania, and North Korea etc. We rebuke the ‘dragon’ in the name of Jesus Christ and declare that he has no authority over these countries. (Colossians 1: 21-23; Revelations 12: 7-12)
When Nehemiah challenged the Jews to rise up and build the shattered walls of Jerusalem, then every Jewish household took the responsibility for rebuilding the wall in front of his house. Similarly, we need international advocates who will adopt specific countries and People Groups to pray, equip and mobilize local Christians to establish rapidly multiplying churches in their own countries.
5. We pray for Catholic countries like Mexico, Italy, France, Philippines, and South American countries like Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Columbia etc. that they may be freed from the yoke of religious rituals and dogmas and accept Jesus as their Lord. (Romans 12: 2)
Remember that the Lord Jesus cannot return until “the earth is filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord”. The good news is that many countries are experiencing astonishing church growth in recent times. But these are just raindrops; we must pray for showers. (Habakkuk 2: 14; Matthew 24: 14) 33
6. Lord, we thank You for anointing an international army of Advocates who are preaching the gospel to the poor, healing the brokenhearted, delivering the captives, giving sight to the blind and setting at liberty those who are oppressed of the devil. (Luke 4: 18) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 34
Second Tuesday of the Month Subject: Prayer for India “For from the rising of sun, even to its going down. My name shall be great among the Gentiles... (Malachi 1: 11) The population of India is over one billion. India grows by 25 million every year. There are 28 states and 7 federally administered units. Kashmir in the north has 0% Christians, whereas Kanyakumari district in the extreme south has more than 50% Christians. In most of the North Eastern states nearly 90% of the population is Christian whereas in western Gujarat not even 0.1% are Christians. There are more churches in Kottayam district of Kerala than in the entire north India. 70% of the population of India lives in villages but rapid urbanization is going on. Until recently there were only about 50,000 churches all over but mostly in south India. In the last decade the number has increased at least four folds with strong growth in north India. There are 600,000 villages in India but most of the churches are in towns and cities. In 25 metropolitan cities and 4500 towns, there are millions of nominal Christians, who worship ‘wealth’ as their most revered idol. Their growth is due to transfer or biological rather than by conversion. Systematic church-planting program for the slums and other unreached peoples of the cities has now started, mostly by independents. Out of 28,000 pin codes in India, 22,000 pin codes have no evangelists. Twenty five million Christians are living in 6,000 pin codes but most of them are busy worshipping Mammon and have no time for completing the task of the Great Commission.
:: PRAYER :: 1. O Lord, who rules from the rising of sun to the going down of the same, we thank You that you triumphed on the cross and publicly ridiculed the Serpent, the deceiver of the people of this nation. Lord now we pray that in Your name all believers will go out and publicly rebuke, demolish and destroy the serpent power in every city, town, village and in every slum. (Colossians 2: 14, 15) 2. We pray that believers will go and bind the strongman and open up ‘Houses of Peace’ in each of the one million villages and shanty towns for prayer, discipling, fellowship, breaking of bread, baptisms, signs and wonders and adding of new believers. (Luke 10: 5-8) 3. Lord grant that the gospel be available in every language. We uphold the Bible translators and Radio and T.V. Preachers that the seed being sown by them may not fall by the roadside but be nurtured carefully so that they may be fruitful and their fruit may remain. Lord, let there be Radio churches everywhere. (Mark 4: 26-29) 4. Heavenly Father, grant that every citizen of this country may know that all things that are in heaven and on earth, visible or invisible, thrones, dominions principalities and powers were all created by Jesus Christ and for Jesus Christ. (Colossians 1: 16) 5. We pray that every inhabitant of this country will know that the thoughts You have for them are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give them a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29: 11)
Of the 1600 languages, the Bible has been printed in 45 languages only and the New Testament in 50 languages. Radio broadcast is done in 65 languages but with very poor quality follow up so there is very little fruit that remains. India requires one million laborers to reap the harvest. If every Christian family adopts their neighborhood for church planting then the task of discipling of India can be done in one generation only.
6. We thank You Lord that we are the citizens of India, whose national flag and the Constitution carry the symbol of Ashoka Chakra which says ‘Satya Mev Jayate’ which means ‘Truth always prevails’. We thank You that Jesus is the truth and He will prevail. (John 14: 6; Revelation 17: 14)
7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today.
Third Tuesday of the Month Subject: Pray for Your Region “…How long will you neglect to go and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers has given you?” (Joshua 18: 3) Paul Yongi Cho a young believer, camped in an old tent in the slum area of the city of Seoul in Korea and started praying. After some days a Buddhist person asked him what he was doing? He told him that he was praying to God for their salvation. Soon that person joined him in prayer. Slowly more and more people joined them. Today it is the biggest praying church in the world. Each member of the church is encouraged to start a Cell church in his or her neighborhood. Now they have more than 100, 000 Home Cells. Thousands of people are joining home Cells everyday and praying for the redemption of their nation. Women and youth have planted Eighty percent of these Cells. The intense praise and worship and the intercessory prayers of all these people has transformed that Buddhist country completely. Where there was abject poverty now there is plenty. In place of corruption there is honesty. Instead of illiteracy, people are highly literate. In place of anarchy there is peace and goodwill. In contrast to the above, the culture of India is full of oppression, corruption, anarchy, vulgarity, filth, illiteracy, exploitation and poverty. We know that the main reason for all this is lack of home cells praising and worshipping God. When King Jehoshaphat heard that a great army was coming to invade him, he was afraid and decided to seek the Lord and declared a fast throughout Judea. All Judah came with their wives and even babies to seek the Lord and prayed. As they sang and praised God, the Lord set up ambushes and the enemy destroyed each other. (2 Chronicles 20: 21) It is easy to camp in the church compound but the Lord is looking for such worshippers who are willing to leave their comfort zones and pitch their tents in the dirty slums and change this nation. (Isaiah 54: 1-3) 37
:: PRAYER :: 1. Lord you are the Prince of peace and truth. You are the true light of the world and there is no darkness in You. We thank You, that You have empowered us to wrestle with the powers, principalities, rulers of darkness and hosts of evil spirits in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6: 12; Isaiah 31: 6, 7; Daniel 7: 26, 27) 2. O Father, let not the church be dismayed because the battle is not ours but Yours. We need not fight in this battle but stand and see the salvation of the Lord. We only need to fast, pray, seek Your face, repent and worship You. (2 Chronicles 20: 15-19) 3. We proclaim that every citizen of this region should know that only Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no one can come to the Father except through Jesus. Father we pray that You show them the way in which they should walk and the things they should do and the things they should not do. (John 14: 6; Jeremiah 42: 3) 4. O Father grant that we Christians will realize that only Jesus is the hope of praise for all gentiles, therefore help us to get out of their comfort zones and go and put our prayer tents in the slums. Lord give us the burden for the salvation of the other people.(Romans 15: 9-12; Colossians 1: 27-29) 5. O Lord we pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal to Your apostles and prophets the mystery that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs of the same body and partakers of His promise, that their names may be written in the Book of the Lamb. (Ephesians 3: 5, 6) 6. Lord, forgive us for not taking possession of the people and the land which You have given us as inheritance. We thank You for the promise that the Holy Spirit will make us powerful witnesses to the ends of the earth. Father, help us to take possession of every place that the soles of our feet tread upon. (Joshua 1: 3) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 38
Fourth Tuesday of the Month. Subject: Prayer for Your City “And in that day, you will say praise the Lord, call upon His name, declare His deeds among the peoples and make mention so that His name is exalted. Sing, cry out and shout O inhabitant.. (Isaiah 12: 4-6) Caesarea Philippi was the capital of Roman governor. Ambassadors of many countries lived there. They used to bring their own gods made of gold, silver, wood and marble. It was known for it’s many gods and goddesses. In this city of gods, Jesus asked His disciples, about His own identity. Only Peter replied correctly “You are Christ, the son of the living God”. In this city, with the gates of Hell wide open at every step, the Lord Jesus declared “I will build My Church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it”. (Matthew 16: 13-19) The inhabitants of Mizoram, a state in the North-East, were believers of Pagan gods. The bloodthirsty natives used to cut off the heads of their neighboring tribes. A hundred years ago they accepted Jesus Christ because two missionaries dared to go and share their faith with them. As a result, crime, poverty, filth, illiteracy and murder etc. came down precipitously. Now they fear the Lord, help their neighbors and keep their cities neat and clean. Work starts in many government offices after morning devotion. Candidates for election to the state parliament need clearance certificate from the church so that only those with good standing can be elected. In spite of being one of the smallest states, they support 1000 missionaries from their own earnings. Our business is to demolish the devil’s empire but sadly our leaders dream of constructing grandiose buildings and building their own empires, which is against the will of God (Acts 7: 48, 49). We need to transform our Beth Avens (cities of iniquity) by encouraging worship in every house, which will demolish the local gates of Hell and turn them into Bethels (cities of God). For this we need to go right into the thick of the sin infested parts of the city. 39
:: PRAYER :: 1. Father, who dwells in glorious light, we thank You that one day You will reduce Lucifer the angel of false light, to ashes. Lucifer was perfect in beauty and full of wisdom and wealth; for whom music was prepared, but Father, You cast him out when iniquity was found in him. (Ezekiel 28: 11-19) 2. We proclaim to our city, that the Day of our Lord has come close, therefore all peoples should repent and fear Him because He will judge the living and the dead. Lord we pray that our dirty shantytowns will become real ‘Shanti (peace) Towns’. (Acts 10: 34, 35, 2 Timothy 4: 1) 3. We repent because we have always tried to contain You in a building. But the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. We pray that all Christian leaders should give up the vision of grand buildings. Instead they should invest their energies and resources in apostolic ministries, which are directly involved in saving of the lost sheep. (2 Chronicles 6: 18; Acts 4: 35) 4. Lord, we pray that every Christian should be prepared to give his last mite, like the poor widow to send missionaries. We thank You for giving us the power to earn wealth. Help us now to use this wealth to be a blessing to others according to Your covenant.(Luke 21: 1-4; Deuteronomy 8: 17, 18) 5. O Lord, ‘how beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good news. Grant O Lord that our cities may be filled with such beautiful feet. (Romans 10: 15) 6. O Lord thank You for choosing us to change our corrupt city into a holy city. O Lord grant that by our prayers of intercession and the proclamation of the gospel, the gates of hell will be closed and the gates of heaven be opened for the people of our city. May our city become ‘Bethel’ i.e. the House of God. (Genesis 28: 10-22) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 40
THE GREAT COMMISSION
1. ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.’ (Mark 16: 15, 16) 2. “Go, therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you…” (Matthew 28: 18-20) 3. “Repentance and remission of sins should be preached to all nations” (Luke 24: 47) 4. “I have other sheep, which are not of this fold, they also have to be brought in... And there will be one flock and one shepherd. (John 10: 16) 5. “As the Father has sent me. I also send you.”
(John 20: 21)
6. “But you shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1: 8) 9. “My house shall be a house of prayer for all nations...”
(Mark 11: 17)
10. Desperate appeal from hell: The rich man appealed to Abraham to send Lazarus to his father’s house to testify to his five brothers, lest they also come to this place of torment. (Luke 16: 19-31) 11. “…I heard the voice of the Lord, saying; whom shall I send and who will go for us? Then I said, ‘Here I am, send me.” (Isaiah 6: 8)
Subject: Prayer for Kings, Rulers, and those in Authority “Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2: 1-4) 1.
First Wednesday of the month: International Governments and their Leaders (Proverbs 8: 14-17)
Second Wednesday of the month: The National Government and the Defense Services. (Daniel 2: 43-45)
Third Wednesday of the month: Prayer for the State Government
Fourth Wednesday of the month: Strategic Prayer and Planning for the City
We are Prophets, Priests and Kings and We Shall Rule in Life. (Revelation 5: 10)
14. “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24: 14) The Great commission of our Lord to ‘Disciple All Nations’ is the mandate and the work of the church and every true believer. Any thing less is counterfeit. Let it not become The Great Omission. 41
(Malachi 4: 1, 2)
First Wednesday of the Month Subject: International Governments and their Leaders “Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom... And power are mine. By Me kings reign and rulers decree justice and princes, nobles and the judges rule the earth. I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me diligently will find Me.” (Proverbs 8: 14-17) Kings, Presidents, Prime Ministers and others are the earthly rulers, but the intercessors have the power to change unjust rulers and their kingdoms. The Bible is full of examples of intercessors like Moses, Daniel, Nehemiah, Elijah, Samuel, Esther, Jonah and others that changed the kingdoms and the histories of those countries. The disciples of the Lord have the power to turn the world upside down. Praise God that even today the intercessors are changing the world and preparing it to receive the King of kings. The citizens of Cyprus thought that they were ruled by their governor Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence. But when Paul and Barnabas visited him in their first missionary journey, they discovered that in reality it was the devil who through Elymas the sorcerer, controlled the governor and ruled the nation. Paul quickly bound the strongman, thus releasing the governor to become the ‘man of peace’ for Cyprus. (Acts 13: 6-12) The Destroyer is busy destroying the world. He is able to do this on a global scale by influencing national leaders and governments. One of our Prime ministers would not step out of the house or hold an important meeting without first taking advice from his Tantrik (sorcerer). Presidents and Prime ministers of many countries make covenants with demonic powers and routinely consult astrologers and sorcerers through whom Satan controls entire nations. The Deceiver rules the nations unchecked because of our ignorance. He can only be stopped by us taking our authority in Christ and then taking possession through intercession and proclamation. (Isaiah 47: 12-15-14) 43
:: PRAYER :: 1. O Lord it is a fearful thing to fall in the hands of the living God. We proclaim to all the kings, presidents, prime ministers and those in authority ‘Not by might nor by power but by My Spirit says the Lord’. Father we pray that rulers and those in authority will break their covenants with the devil and will not consult astrologers, sorcerers and the false prophets of the Destroyer of the nations but tremble, fear and worship You. (Zechariah 4: 6; Hebrew 10: 31) 2. Lord we pray that nations may not war with each other nor oppress, exploit or defame each other, but live in love and peace. Lord let them know that power does not flow from the barrel of the gun but all power comes from You. (Jeremiah 20: 10, Galatians 6: 7) 3. O Ruler of nations, we pray for salvation of the leaders of the countries in the 10°/40° window. That prayer warriors in every country will continually uphold the leaders in prayer and enforce the rule of righteousness, justice and peace. (Samuel 12: 23) 4. Lord help us to boldly proclaim the word to the top leaders. That we will not be afraid of their countenance and the consequences but always remember that we are ambassadors of Christ the King. (Jeremiah 1: 7, 8; Acts 26: 24-29) 5. We pray especially for leaders of those countries whose hearts are hardened and closed to the light of the gospel. We pray that You give them a new heart and open their eyes by the power of Your Holy Spirit. (Proverb 13: 13) 6. Lord we thank You for choosing us to stand in the gap for nations with the assurance that through our intercession nations will transform and glorify Your name. Lift up your heads you everlasting gates that the King of glory can come in. (Psalm 24: 7) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 44
Second Wednesday of the Month
:: PRAYER ::
Subject: The National Government, and the Defense Services. (1 Timothy 2: 1-4) “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, and the people whom He has chosen as His own inheritance.” (Psalm 33: 12)
1. O Lord our Father, heaven is Your throne and our country is Your footstool. In the name of Your son Jesus Christ we lift up all the leaders, officers and four million government employees of the central Government, before Your throne of grace. We humbly pray that they all be saved and come to the knowledge of truth. (1 Timothy 2: 1-4) 2. Holy Father, thank You for giving us the authority to trample over serpents and scorpions like spirits of criminalization of politics, state sponsored terrorism and violation of human rights of the minority and the marginalized. We pray that all believers will take authority, rebuke these spirits and bring them under subjection.
The Bible clearly teaches us to honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God and honor the king. It also tells us to submit to every ordinance of man for Lord’s sake, even to the rulers...for this is the will of God. Our Lord submitted himself to the corrupt and unjust religious and political authorities. Of course we do not submit to anything that does not glorify God. (1 Peter 3: 13-15) Our nation does not have a track record of good governance. There is criminalization of political parties who create a frenzy of communalism and warped version of ‘nationalism’ and whip up unadulterated xenophobia especially against the minorities and the weaker sections of the society. Terrorism, custodial deaths and murder of the innocent in fake encounters are blatantly committed by the custodians of the law. We need to constantly pray to God for Judges, the Lawyers and the Police, so that they may execute true justice and show mercy and compassion. That they may not oppress the widow and the fatherless and that they may protect the poor and the alien. (Zechariah 7: 9, 10) The army, navy and the air force must seek security and safety from the Lord because unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. We should constantly uphold the Christian officials and those who sit in the parliaments because they are the guardians of Godly laws, so that by their character and life style, the name of Jesus Christ is glorified. (Psalm 127: 1) Our Lord has appointed us as watchmen to guard our cities and the nation against the attacks of the enemy. The firepower of the intercessors of the Lord’s army is immeasurably greater than any army, navy and the air force of the world, put together. All we need to do is to use this firepower.
3. We pray that our government may give special attention to the poorest of the poor, oppressed, widows, orphans, afflicted, refugees, women, children, villagers, pavement and slum dwellers, sick, disabled and those who are unjustly in prison. (Micah 4: 6, 7) 4. O Prince of Peace, we pray that the leaders of all the political parties such as Congress, B.J.P., Janata, Samata, R.S.S., VHP, Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena, Communist, Bahujan, Samajvadi and the regional parties may know the truth and work for the establishment of the kingdom of the Prince of Peace. 5. We uphold all the Christian officials and those who sit in the state and national parliaments, before Your throne that they may be the light and salt of the earth. They may remain strong in their faith like Shadrach, Meshack and Abed-nego and not compromise with corruption and idol worship. (Daniel 3: 13-18) 6. Lord, thank You for the Democratic, Secular, and Republic Constitution of our country giving us the fundamental right to preach and proclaim our faith. We pray that every Christian will take advantage of this privilege and make every knee to bow and every tongue of this country, to confess that Jesus is Lord. (Philippians 2: 10, 11) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today.
Third Wednesday of the Month Subject: Prayer for the State Government “...Till you know that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men and gives to whom He chooses. (Daniel 4: 25) King Nebuchadnezzar in his arrogance thought that he had built up the great Babylon with his own might and power, for his own majesty. God immediately punished him and sent him out to live naked, and eat grass like the beasts of the field until he acknowledged that it is the Most High God who rules in the kingdom of men. Daniel took authority and ruled the nation through fasting and prayer. (Daniel 4: 28-34) The Young David was angry with Goliath because he had defied the armies of the living God. He took his authority in God and told the giant that the Lord does not save with sword, spear and javelin but the battle is the Lord’s, ‘I come in the name of the Lord of the hosts...that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.’ David the shepherd boy became the ruler of Israel for standing boldly against a formidable enemy. (1 Samuel 17: 45-47) Recently an eastern potentate declared from the ramparts of the fort that there is no God and dictatorship will last forever. One day early in the morning, the believers in that nation formed a human chain around his palace. They prayed to the Lord that either He should change the heart of the dictator or else remove him altogether. Within a year the dictator died of an incurable disease. The Christians used their authority in Christ and ruled that nation. God is going to shake the heavens and the earth and only that which is unshakable will remain and the ‘overcomers’ will receive a kingdom, which cannot be shaken. (Hebrews 12: 26-28; Revelation 21: 7) Through His blood, the Lord has made us priests and kings and we must take authority in Christ and reign here and now, on His behalf.(Revelation 5: 9, 10)
:: PRAYER :: 1. O Gracious Lord, You are the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. In Your mighty name we rebuke the Deceiver and the Destroyer of the nations that he has no right to rule in our region because we are praying for those who rule and have authority over us. Lord we pray for the salvation of the Governor, the Chief Minister, Ministers, Legislators, the Opposition party, police and all the administrative officials. (Revelation 22: 13; Malachi 3: 11, 12) 2. We pray that judges may know that one-day, they too will be judged by You, a righteous judge. Therefore, they should judge others with the fear of God. (1 Corinthians 6: 1-11). 3. We pray that the state officers may know that bribery and corruption are sin and the wages of sin is death. That they may know that there is no salvation in any other, for there is no name under heaven, given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4: 12) 4. We pray for the T.V., Radio, Newspapers, editors and publishers and all those who influence people’s minds that they may fear You and use the media to break the bonds of injustice and chains of oppression from the poor. We pray that the media may daily glorify and magnify Your name. (Isaiah 58: 3-12) 5. We pray for the salvation of police officers and policemen. We pray that they may not violate human rights. That they may not give false witness and persecute the innocent. That they may not take bribes but remain satisfied with their wages. (Luke 3: 14) 6. Father we thank You because You have laid up for us a crown of righteousness...and not only for us but for all who have loved His appearing. (2 Timothy 4: 7, 8) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today.
Fourth Wednesday of The Month Subject: Strategic Prayer for the City So it was, when I heard these words (about Jerusalem City) that I sat down and wept and mourned many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven. (Nehemiah 1: 4) Nehemiah was a only a cup bearer of a great gentile king but had a great burden for his city of Jerusalem even though he was far away in Babylon, which is now Iraq. When he heard about the sad condition of his city, he wept and began praying and fasting for 3 months. The king appointed him the governor of the city and gave all the facilities he asked for. Nehemiah secretly visited the city alone at night and collected information on which he made his strategy. He gathered all the elders of the city and delegated the responsibility to build the wall right in front of their own houses. He finished the building of the seven-kilometer wall of Jerusalem in a record time of 52 days, in spite of severe persecution from his own people. (Nehemiah 6: 15) From Nehemiah we can learn many lessons which are applicable to us. First and foremost is to be burdened for one’s own city. If we have no concern for our own city, then the city is doomed. But if we have a burden which every believer should have, then everything can happen like fasting, prayer, collecting detailed information about the city, setting goals, developing a strategy, implementing it as well as using local resources. Also we must never forget that whenever we want to do some good then persecution will come, often from within. But like Nehemiah, we should never lose sight of our goal. (Nehemiah 2: 19, 20; 6: 2, 3) God has chosen us to transform the city through prayer, proclaiming the gospel and taking possession by planting multiplying churches, which will turn the city upside down. But first we must build a wall of defense against the enemy.
:: PRAYER :: 1. O Lord You are Jehovah Shammah which means ‘Lord is there’. We look forward with awe and wonder to that wonderful day when You will be a city dweller, living among people in the New Jerusalem. In the meanwhile thank You for living in our hearts. (Ephesians 2: 6; Ezekiel 48: 35) 2. Lord, we pray and bless all those who have rule and authority and provide facilities for us like our local officials, M.L.A’s, members of parliament, Commissioner, Collector, Zila Panchayat Adhyaksh, S.P., Sarpanch, B.D.O., Tehsildar, Kotwal, Patwari, departments of Agriculture, Electricity, Education, Post Office, Statistics, Health, Forest, Animal Husbandry, Income Tax, Police, Bank, Telephone, Environment, Road, Railway, Water supply, Sanitation and their workers, that they may all know the truth and find salvation. 3. Lord we pray that like Nehemiah, You will burden the believers for their cities so that they will weep, fast, pray and do all that is necessary to build a wall of defense against the enemy. 4. We pray that You will give us the right strategy of Saturation Church Planting to rapidly saturate our city with churches and turn it upside down. We also pray that you show us the ‘Persons of Peace’ in every part of our city, where we may find all the necessary resources to implement the strategy. (Luke 10: 6) 5. Lord although we are foolish, weak and worthless, You have chosen us to shame the wise, the mighty and the noble of the city, only because we have believed in Your name. (1 Corinthians 1: 26-30) 6. Thank You for raising us and making us sit together in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. You have empowered us to wrestle with principalities and powers of darkness and provided us with all the spiritual weapons we need to take possession of our city. (Ephesians 1: 20-23) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today.
WHAT IS A HOUSE CHURCH? 1. Jesus Christ said ‘when two or three gather together in My Name, then I am there in the midst of them’. This is the smallest church. More numbers does not mean more church. Small or big, wherever ‘called out’ people gather in His name, it is church. It can meet anywhere, any day or any time. It is not a ‘Come church’ but a ‘Go church’. (Matthew 18: 20) 2. Just like any household, it does not have to have any set program other than to meet as a family in His name. Though we know that when the early church met they studied the word, had fellowship, like any normal family enjoyed eating food and prayed. Everything they did together.(Acts 2: 42) 3. It is not just a Bible class, or a prayer cell or even a Cell church but a complete church where discipling, baptisms, breaking of bread, sharing of material blessings, marriages, miracles and signs take place. In this church the Charismata or gifts of the Spirit, are in full operation. (Acts 2: 42-47) 4. The Church is the Bride of Christ, so she has to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. The House church must reproduce itself many times over. In fact a house church is the maternity ward where new baby churches are constantly birthed. (Acts 9: 35) 5. It is a household of God so every one can participate. Someone brings a Psalm, another a teaching, while others a revelation, a prophesy, dreams, visions and so on. There are no professional clergy or musicians in the family of God. Anyone can make melody in his or her heart. (Colossians 3: 16; 1 Corinthians 14: 26) 6. In this church the Fivefold ministry-gifted people, like apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists and shepherds, equip the believers for different ministries according to their own gifts. As a result, quality leadership develops. The aim of this church is to disciple all nations and bring about a church planting movement. 7. It meets in homes so there are no salaries, building and maintenance costs to pay. It raises its own finance for specific apostolic projects and is not dependent on external sources. (1 Corinthians 16: 1-3) 51
Day: Thursday Subject: Prayer for Churches and Leaders “So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.” (Ezekiel 22: 30) 1. 2. 3. 4.
First Thursday of the Month: International Churches and Leaders Second Thursday of the Month: National Churches and Leaders Third Thursday of the Month: Regional Churches
(Psalm 22: 27, 28) (Ezekiel 22: 30) (Isaiah 59: 15-16)
Fourth Thursday of the Month: Local Church and Institutions. (Ephesians 1: 17-19; 3: 16-19) You are the watchman -Be vigilant Do not remain silent, all day and all night, take no rest from reminding God, until His kingdom is established in this land. (Isaiah 62: 6, 7)
First Thursday of the Month Subject: International Churches and Leaders “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth.” (John 4: 23, 24) Moses complained to God that he could not bear the burden of taking care of God’s people alone. Then God decided to give the same spirit to seventy other elders. As a result all the seventy started prophesying, some even in their tents. This upset some of Moses admirers who wanted them stopped. But Moses happily replied that he would have liked to see all God’s people prophesying. (Numbers 11: 23-30). Today we need leaders like Moses who will be happy to share their anointing and their responsibilities with others. God then promised that in the last days He will pour out His Spirit on all people, both men and women, young and old. (Acts 2: 17, 18). The last days started on the day of the Pentecost. Ever since He has been pouring out His Spirit on all kinds of people all over the world. The people who received the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem filled their city with the doctrine of Jesus (Acts 5: 28). Their disciples went to Asia, Africa and Europe and turned their cities upside down (Acts 17: 6). In the 1790, in Africa alone, 19 out of 20 missionaries died within two years. As a result, 50% of that Dark Continent is Christian today. A suicidal army of missionaries from the West went and planted churches all over the world and in the process transformed the world. Now the Lord is doing a new thing. He promised that ‘the meek shall inherit the earth’ (Matthew 5: 5). He is specially pouring His Spirit on the weak, the meek, the foolish, the illiterates and plain nobodies including women and children who are planting churches by the thousands and slowly but surely inheriting the earth. The Lord is building His Church Universal and the gates of Hell cannot stop Him. 53
:: PRAYER :: 1. O Father, You are our shepherd (Jehovah Rohi) and therefore we shall not lack anything. You have an intimate relationship with each sheep and know us by name. Father, just like a shepherd, You never leave us alone and protect us from the attacks of the enemy. 2. We pray for the leaders that they may not just work for their organizations but have a covenant relationship with You and with each other. That they have intimacy with You and love each other. That they may esteem one another more highly than themselves. (John 13: 34, 35; Phil, 2: 3) 3. Lord, the gentile rulers exercise authority over others but You did not come to be served but to serve and to give Your life as ransom for many. Lord we pray that we may not fight to sit on the right or the left but whoever wants to be first and desires to be great among us shall be the servant and the slave of all. (Mark 10: 40-45) 4. O Father! We bless all those leaders of churches, institutions and foundations who provide resources such as Bibles, literature, films, audio and video cassettes, CD’s, computers, bicycles and vehicles, family support to workers, teachers and funds for training leaders and in many other ways make it possible to proclaim the gospel. 5. Lord, give the spirit of humility and integrity to our leaders. That they may avoid triumphalistic reporting. That they may evaluate their real effectiveness by the actual number of ‘fruit that remains’ and churches planted as indicators of permanent evangelism. 6. We thank You Father God because You are now preparing thousands of servant leaders all over the world, especially in the developing countries who have been endowed with Your Spirit to reach the unreached and disciple the remaining nations. 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 54
Second Thursday of the Month Subject: National Churches and Leaders “.... See I have this day set you over the nations and kingdoms, to root out and pull down, to destroy, to throw down, so as to build and to plant anew.” (Jeremiah 1: 9, 10) God is one, but the church is divided into 33,000 denominations. Denominationalism is the root cause of division, dissension and strife. The Scriptures exhort us to, ‘keep the bond of unity’ (Ephesians 4: 3), to love God the Father, to love our neighbors and to love each other but we do not love people of other denominations. The Lord has told us that a house divided against itself can not stand. (Matthew 12: 25). The devil works overtime to keep the spirit of denominationalism alive to keep us divided. We need a church, which is Biblically and culturally appropriate for our nation. Multitudes of our brothers and sisters of other faiths, who are now standing in the valley of decision, will not come in the existing model until it is indigenized. The foreign looking building, complete with the pews and the pulpit, the congregation in Western clothes, extensive use of English in worship, even the music is completely foreign. Pagan festivals like Christmas and Easter are all extra-biblical and far removed from the simplicity of the New Testament Church. Like Jeremiah we have been assigned to root out, pull down, destroy, and throw down the traditional model and plant the original New Testament model church to welcome nations and kingdoms. Peoples of other faiths are desperately seeking the Truth. Many of them fast and for days go to the temples and other religious places in search of truth, often keeping all night vigils (Jagrans). Millions travel long distances on pilgrimages and spend money and undergo enormous hardships but the truth eludes them. Much to the delight of the father of lies, we the ‘Truth Keepers’ are keeping it for ourselves and not sharing it with the ‘Truth Seekers’. God is now looking for those, who will enable gentiles, the new wine, to enter into new wineskins. 55
:: PRAYER :: 1. O Lord You loved this country so much that You gave Your only Son who shed His blood to save all mankind including our brothers and sisters of other faiths. In the name of Your Son we rebuke the spirit of divisive denominationalism, which is destroying Your church. We earnestly pray that the Church may know that there is one Lord, one body, one spirit, one faith, one baptism, and one God the Father of all. (Ephesians 4: 3-6) 2. We pray that You will deliver the faithful from every snare of the fowler (Psalm 91: 3). That they and their families may not become stumbling blocks for others, otherwise it will be better for them to drown in the sea by putting a millstone round their necks. (Matthew 18: 6) 3. Lord grant that nobody should enter the gates of Hell because of our sinfulness. Restore us to the joy of Your salvation and sustain us with a willing spirit. Then we will teach transgressors Your ways and sinners will be converted to You. (Psalm 51: 10-13) 4. We pray that You will break the middle wall of separation between Christians and millions of Dalits and peoples of other faiths who will find that You are the only way, the truth and the life and that no one can go to the Father without You. (John 14: 6) 5. Lord grant that every believer may know that You have appointed us to uproot, pull down, to destroy and overthrow the demonic powers, to overturn their rule and build and plant God’s kingdom. (Jeremiah 1: 9, 10) 6. Lord, we thank You for preparing new wineskins (house churches) for the new wine (new believers) and are giving them new strategies to plunder the people from the Strongman. Father thank you that these people will no longer be strangers and foreigners but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God. (Ephesians 2: 14-19) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 56
Third Thursday of the Month Subject: Regional Churches “My people are being destroyed for lack of knowledge, because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priests for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God; I also will forget your children.” (Hosea 4: 6; Proverb 1: 29-33) The devil has been very successful lately in causing the downfall of many church leaders and their families. Divorce, adultery, homosexuality, abortion, theft, lying, taking bribes and corruption are no less than the secular world. Some of them have lost the original faith and gone after other gods, new age philosophy, yoga, transcendental meditation, occult and even Satan worship. The Bride of Christ is hardly recognizable because of the spots and wrinkles. Many believers who lived by faith, are now striving hard to climb the prosperity ladder. Wealth, luxury, status, class and even caste factors are openly flaunted in the church, all in the name of the humble ‘fakir’ from Nazareth. Instead of the church going to the world, the world has now well and truly entered the church. The scriptures tell us that this is happening due to rejection of the knowledge of God. Due to the preoccupation of the family with the worship of Mammon and watching television, the Bible study and prayers become a mere formality and eventually stop altogether. Their knowledge of the Bible becomes shallow, therefore, Satan finds it easy to attack and destroy the whole family. (Hosea 4: 6; 1; Timothy 3: 4-5; Deuteronomy 6: 6-9) Nowadays there is a fashion of building Prayer towers. But God’s idea is that every house should be a prayer tower, a bulwark against the attack of the enemy. He wants every house to be house of prayer for all nations. The Scriptures exhort us that Godly knowledge should be dripping from the lips of the Priests. That the people should come to us seeking questions of doctrines and we as priests should go as the messengers of the gospel of the Lord. It is high time we took our priesthood seriously. (Malachi 2: 7) 57
:: PRAYER :: 1. O Father! You are Jehovah Makaddish, the God who sanctifies us to set us apart for Your purposes. But the congregations are filled with the works of flesh like adultery, fornication, uncleanliness, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, dissensions, jealousies, covetousness etc. We pray that You sanctify and make us holy for Your sake. (Leviticus 20: 7-8; Galatians 5: 20, 21) 2. Lord, we pray that every Christian will be able to say boldly, ‘I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course and I have kept the faith ... now there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness and not only for me but also for those whom I have brought into the kingdom’. (2 Timothy 4: 7, 8) 3. Father, we pray for protection from those hirelings who enter the church pretending to be shepherds but are wolves, who promise green pastures to the sheep but actually take them to slaughter houses. (John 10: 11-16) 4. We pray that every believer may know that he is not just a layman, but an ordained priest to offer Gentiles as spiritual sacrifice. That every believer, man, woman and even the youth will bring sinners to repentance, baptize and break bread with them and fulfill all the other duties which pertain to priesthood. (Romans 15: 20) 5. We thank You for ordaining every father of Christian families to be the priest of his family. You have always wanted that the parents should diligently teach their children all the statutes from the scriptures and to obey them. (Deuteronomy 6: 6-8; 1 Timothy 3: 4, 5) 6. We thank You Father, even though we were unworthy, You made us worthy in Christ and only because of Your mercy, we are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and Your own special people to proclaim Your mighty deeds. Father help us to prepare Your Bride to be without spots or wrinkles. (Ephesians 1:4; 5: 27; 1 Peter 2: 9) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 58
Fourth Thursday of the Month Subject: Local Church and Institutions.
“Moreover, as for me, far be it for me that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way.” (1 Samuel 12: 23; Ephesians 1: 15-19; Mark 10: 42-45)
1. O Father Your word is like fire that consumes and like a hammer that breaks the rock into pieces. Lord thank You for this powerful weapon with which we can break the chains of darkness (Jeremiah 23: 29). Lord, let every person know that man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Proverb 1: 7; Matthew 4: 4)
The Israelites asked Samuel for their own king just like the other nations had, in spite of the fact that they had been under God’s direct supervision. They rejected God’s Lordship because of their wickedness. Samuel was also deeply hurt because they rejected his prophetic leadership. (1 Samuel 12: 17; 28:7)
2. Lord we pray that Your Body be full of the fruits of the Spirit, that is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. (Galatians 5: 22, 23)
When they insisted, they got Saul as their king who exploited them. He took their crops, animals, and children as laborers, sons as soldiers and daughters as concubines. He lost his kingship when he indulged in the occult by consulting the witch of Endore. Soon Saul and his sons came to a tragic end. After all this Samuel assured the Israelites that the Lord will not forsake them because He had chosen them as His people. He not only did that but he said to them that it would be sin for him not to pray for the king and the people. He further promised them he would continue to teach them the good and right way. Dr. Paul Brand transformed the lives of thousands of Leprosy patients by developing surgical operations to correct their deformed hands and feet. One evening we returned after a field trip and found several disfigured patients waiting in front of his house. He invited them in to his dining table and his wife Margaret served them tea and biscuits. They received not only physical healing but also social acceptance and many became followers of Christ. We must pray that our institutional heads do not go astray like Saul and exploit the institutions for their own benefit. That they may undertake regular financial and ‘spiritual audit’. Let us pray that our Christian schools, hospitals, orphanages and development programs, will not be just teaching, curing or philanthropic centers but will be centers of holistic transformation for body, mind and the spirit. (Colossians 1: 10) 59
3. Lord, grant that believers may know that they are priests. That they may pray, study the word and witness to their workmates and plant ‘Office Churches’ right in place of their work. According to Your promise, wherever two or three gather in Your name, You will be present there. Father we pray that their worksites may become centers of holistic transformation and people will be saved right there. (3 John 1: 2-4) 4. Father, grant that gifts and manifestations of the Spirit be given to all believers to profit them in all they do like word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophesy, discerning of spirits, tongues and their interpretation. (1 Corinthians 12: 7-12) 5. Lord, grant that in spite of rejection, persecution and all the other problems we may continue to pray and support our leaders. Lord protect us from the sin of not praying and supporting them. 6. Father, we thank You for giving us schools, hospitals and other institutions. You have appointed us not to scatter the seed by the roadside, but to sow good seed in well-prepared soil. Lord enlarge our vision so that we may gather thirty fold, sixty fold and even hundred fold harvest from our institutions. (Matthew 12: 30) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 60
SOME SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO PRAY 1. Worship: Sadly most people think it is singing some familiar choruses and songs on Sunday inside the safety and comfort of the Church building. Actually, the scriptures tell us to go outside the camp, bring in a harvest of Gentiles and then enter the gates of heaven, singing His praises, with joy, thanks giving, prayer and praise (Hebrews 13: 13-16). God is Spirit and He is looking for such people who will worship Him everywhere in truth and not only in the church buildings on Sundays. As you win lost souls and gather them in local barns (house churches), you will spontaneously worship God right there with thanksgiving in your heart. (Psalm 100; John 4: 23, 24) 2. Repentance: Daniel and Nehemiah and many other prophets, repented for their own sins and the sins of their people and forefathers with fasting, prayer and tears. They confessed that knowingly they had gone astray saying, “We have not done what we should have done and have done what we should not have”. (Daniel 9: 2-6) The opening words of Jesus when He started His ministry were, ‘Repent for the Kingdom of God is near’ (Matthew 4: 17). Jesus Christ has also taught us that neither baptism nor salvation is possible without repentance. (Luke 24: 27; Acts 2: 37-41) 3. Forgive others: In order for us to be forgiven, it is necessary for you to forgive others. This includes your family especially your spouse. If you do not honor your wife, your prayer will not be heard (1 Peter 3: 7). The Lord taught us to forgive others. Therefore if you have bitterness against anyone in your heart, then forgive them at once, lest all your prayers remain unanswered. (Matthew 6: 14, 15; 12: 36, 37; Hebrews 12: 15)
4. Anointing with the Holy Spirit: We do not know really how to pray. Only the Holy Spirit can teach us. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to God (Romans 8: 26; James 4: 7). We must put on the Armor of God, belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace on our feet, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit and then get into spiritual warfare. (Ephesians 6: 12-18) 5. Ask according to His Will: The Scripture says that if you know His will and ask accordingly, He hears us (1 John 5: 14). You ask and do not receive because you want to spend it on your pleasures (James 4: 3). God always honors His promises therefore make sure that your petition is already in His sovereign will. For this you need to know the scriptures. Whatever you need, He will do for you, provided it glorifies Him. Then Jesus said that we would do greater works than these. So ask for more power to do greater exploits for God. (John 14: 12-14) 6. Keep a record: We always remember if we have done anything good for others and sometimes remind them of it. But rarely do we keep a record all the wonderful things that God does for us all the time. Jewish people were known for keeping accurate written record. This is why we have the Bible today. They were known as the “People of the Book’. We need to keep a record in writing all the intercessions we have made for others. This is the only way we can check when and how the prayer was answered. It also helps us to thank Him and increases our faith, recounting God’s faithfulness to us. The scripture says, ‘those who feared the Lord spoke to one another and a book of remembrance was written ...for those who fear Him and meditate on His name’ (Malachi 3: 16) 7. Last of all ask for personal needs but even in this we must first seek His kingdom and righteousness knowing that all our other needs will be met in Christ. (Revelation 8: 3, 4; Matthew 6: 33)
PRAYER WALKINGAND SPIRITUAL WARFARE Every day - Every Sunday - Every Holiday The Reason: When Lucifer rebelled due to pride and fell from grace, then one third of the angels who were under him, also fell with him. These evil angels are the now busy destroying the people and God’s beautiful creation. All these evil spirits know that they are bound for hell so they want to take as many people with them as possible. Satan has a lot experience of destroying people so do not be deceived. Whether you know it or not and whether you like it or not, the battle is on. In this battle, either he will destroy you or you will destroy him. There is no room for compromise. The Lord Jesus declared ‘I will build My church and the gates of Hell shall not survive.’ The battle is on and if you are not ready then he will make mince meat out of you. The devil does not shoot dummies but live bullets. He goes to battle to steal, kill and destroy. When you go out on prayer walks, you go out to destroy him before he destroys you, your family and your neighborhood. (Revelation 12: 3, 4, 9; John 10: 10, 16: 18) Our Opposition: The powers that are working against a believer are his own lust of the flesh (1 John 2: 16), Satan and his principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and a huge army of evil spirits. Lucifer’s methods are very simple. It is deception, telling lies and murder. He had the audacity to tempt even Jesus and accuses all believers, day and night, before the throne of God. (Revelation 12: 4, 9; John 8: 44)
Our Future: With such awesome firepower, this battle is one sided, because the victory of the believer and defeat of Satan are sure. (Luke 10: 19; Isaiah 24: 21-23). Therefore, O soldier of the army of the Lord Jesus Christ, arise because the battle for the souls of men is raging. Do not delay to destroy the kingdom of Satan in the minds of men and possess the people and the land, which has been given to you as your inheritance. Future of Satan: 1. 1 John 3: 8 - “For this purpose, Son of God was manifested, to destroy the works of the devil.” 2. Romans 16: 20 - “And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet.” 3. Revelations 20: 10 - “And the devil, who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone.” Our Rights and Authority: 1. Acts 1: 8 - “We have been appointed to be witnesses of Jesus to the ends of the earth, by the power of the Holy Spirit” 2. 2 Corinthians 5: 20 - “We are ambassadors for Christ.” 3. 1 Peter 2: 9 - “We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and His own special people.” 4. Matthew 16: 19 - “God gave us the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever we bind on earth, will be bound in heaven, and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Our Support: But a believer has the support of God himself, the Lord Jesus Christ, (Hebrews 13: 8)), the Holy Spirit, Michael the commander of God’s army, the holy angels of God, a great cloud of witnesses, the living and powerful Word of God and the Blood of the Lamb, our faith and our testimony. (Hebrews 1: 14; 12: 1; Ephesians 6: 17)
5. Mark 16: 17-18 “In the name of Jesus we shall cast out demons, we shall lay hands on the sick and they will recover.
6. Matthew 10: 8: “We have been given the right to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out demons.’ Freely we have received and freely we are to give.
Our Job Description: 1. Pray: 2 Chronicles 7: 14 - When we who are called by His name, will humble ourselves, fast, pray, seek His face and repent from our evil deeds, then He will hear from heaven and forgive our sins and will heal our country. 2. Submit: James 4: 7 - “Therefore, we must submit ourselves to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from us.” 3. Demolish: Isaiah 58: 6- ‘Break every yoke’ and release people from the bondage of oppression, spiritual blindness and liberate them from Satan’s prison. The strongman must be bound, his strongholds destroyed and the curses broken; only then, healthy multiplying churches can be planted. Every yoke must be broken, otherwise new believers and churches will be ineffective. God has given us the assignment to crush the head of the devil under our feet. Prayer walking is the best method of doing it. (Romans 16: 20) 4. Disciple & Plant: Matthew 28: 18-20 -Because Jesus has all the authority in heaven and on earth, therefore He has commissioned us to make disciples of all nations, baptize them, equip and send them on to the ends of the earth to plant churches. Our Enemy: 1. Ephesians 6: 12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” 2. Luke 11: 20-22: - “A strongman fully armed, guards his own people and the place, but with the power of the Holy Spirit we overcome him. Immediately after that we must gather those who are released from his captivity and teach them spiritual warfare because they will be attacked by seven more deadly spirits soon after.”
Our Weapons: 1. 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5: - Because the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds. Therefore, we cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2. Ephesians 6: 14-18- We have to gird our waist with truth, put on the breast plate of righteousness, have our feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace; above all take the shield of faith, with which we shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one, and take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with perseverance and supplication for all saints. 3. Jeremiah 23: 39 - The word of God is like fire that burns and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces. 4. Revelation 12: 10-11 - In the name of Jesus, the blood of the lamb and our testimony, we become victorious over Satan. 5. Our faith. 6. Agreement and confession of hope Gates of Hell: Lord Jesus said, “I will build my church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it (Matt. 16: 18).” We establish legal entry points called ‘Gates of Hell’ in our homes, cities the nation and even in the churches by compromising with the evil spirits of witchcraft, astrology, occult, adultery, casteism, untouchability, oppression, lies, abortion, murder of other believers by criticizing them, religious hypocrisy and in fact by any sin. Evil spirits also gain entry though pornographic materials, calendars, pictures, trinkets, family heirlooms, rosaries, CD’s, cassettes and television etc. They also gain entry through acquiring polluted land and property where blood has been shed or some other sin has taken place. Through these gates the evil spirits enter with full legal rights. 66
David was appointed king over Israel but instead of prosperity there was famine for three years because his predecessor Saul had shed innocent blood of the Gibeonites. That sin had to be atoned and only after that the Gibeonites blessed the inheritance of the Lord and the land was healed and yielded crops. You are the watchman and have been given the keys of the kingdom, to put a lock on the gates of hell and to unlock the purposes of heaven. (2 Samuel 21: 1-14; Matthew 7: 13, 14; John 10: 7-10) Prayer Walk, Proclaim and Possess: 1. Praise: When you go for prayer walk, start off by offering the sacrifice of thanksgiving and keep praising God (Psalm 50: 22). While walking, look at the heavens and the creation, raise your hands and praise and give glory to Him who made the heavens and the earth and all that is in it. (Deuteronomy 10: 17) 2. Repent: Look at the state of the city and the iniquity, corruption, sinfulness, filth and desolation, which the devil has been able to inflict in spite of the Christian presence. Repent for the Christians that even though the Lord has appointed them as prophets, priests and kings, they have utterly neglected their redemptive responsibilities and abdicated the city to the devil to do whatever he likes. Identify with the sins of the people of the city, both present and past and repent for all the atrocities, injustices and murder committed that have polluted the land. Polluted land is a cursed land, which will vomit out its people that is they will leave the place and wander in search of food and water and shelter. (Ezra 9: 5-8; Psalm 2: 8; Leviticus 18: 27) 3. Don’t Yell at the Devil: Go silently and incognito when walking around the demonic strongholds, proclaim to them, ‘The gods who have not made heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens’. You do not have to yell at the devil but say it loud enough for him to hear, as he is slightly deaf and does not know your thoughts. Only God knows your thoughts. (Jeremiah 10: 11) 67
4. Break Every Yoke of the devil in the mighty name of Jesus, by the blood of Lamb and by the word of your testimony. Remember the demons tremble at His name but your testimony must be good otherwise there can be a backlash. If your own testimony is no good then repent and get right with God. (Revelation 12: 11) 5. Search and Destroy: Identify and systematically demolish all centers of iniquity, which pollute the mind (2 Corinthians 6: 16). Remember the battle is for the possession of souls. Sever all relations and wipe out all the names of false gods, their false prophets and the unclean spirits from the minds of the people with the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Hebrews 4: 12). Continue surgery with the double-edged sword until the mind stops controlling the spirit and instead the Holy Spirit controls the soul, body and spirit (Romans 8: 5-11). Break every yoke and give marching orders to all the demons in the name of Jesus to depart from the land forever. Then take immediate steps to inherit the land and the people by planting a home church to stop re-entry of the evil spirits. (Zechariah 13: 2) 6. Command, Bind and Expel the evil spirits of greed, oppression, pride, heresy, plunder, exploiting women and abusing children, lawlessness, murder, drunkenness etc. Also command the evil spirits of filthiness, bribery and corruption be bound in the name of Jesus and send them to dry places. Pray out the kingdom of darkness and pray in the kingdom of eternal light in your city. Use every opportunity to pray for your city and its citizens. Their redemption depends on your prayers. (Acts 19: 19, 20; Revelations 19: 16) 7. Release: After binding the powers of darkness, always cut asunder and loose the bondage to all remaining strongholds in the mind. Otherwise they will keep coming back to that stronghold even though it is now powerless. (Ephesians 1: 21, 22) 68
8. Bless all those who rule and work for the city that they may know the truth and be saved. Proclaim that their appointment is from God for good works. (Romans 13: 1) 9. Win the Winnable First: Prayer walk the huts of the poor and the slum dwellers even if they are dirty. It is very important to bless them and be blessed because most of the ‘fruit that remains’ will be found here. It is the meek who shall inherit the earth. (Matthew 5: 5; 10: 8) 10. Provide Prayer Shield: If for some reason you cannot go for the prayer walk, then like Moses pray and provide a ‘Prayer Shield’ from the backlash of the enemy for those who have gone for the prayer walk. Together we have to finish what Jesus came to do, i.e. destroy the works of the devil. (Exodus 17: 9-13, 1 John 3: 8) 11. Get a Map of the City: The Prophet Ezekiel made a clay tablet of Jerusalem city and laid a siege against it. He interceded for his city for months, by cooking a measured amount of food on dung fire. Get a map of the city, put your hands on it and pray area by area and for people groups until it is transformed. (Ezekiel Chapter 4) 12. Plant a Church: Keep prayer walking until the ‘Person of peace’ is revealed who will invite you, feed you and take care of you. This is where you will pray for the sick, expel demons, disciple, baptize, break bread and finally plant a church. (Matthew 10: 11-13) Blessing and Thanksgiving 1. Bless your city, and in fact every household of the locality you are prayer walking, as by the blessings of righteous people, the city prospers. Abraham was blessed to be a blessing to all the families of the nations. As descendents of Abraham we must also do the same. (Proverbs 11: 11; Jeremiah 29: 7; Genesis 12: 3)
2. Thank God and bless all those officers, workers, artisans and business people who provide all the daily necessities like food, water, sanitation, electricity, roads, transport, security, health services and educational institutions etc. Keep blessing them even if they are in bad condition because your blessings, which include binding and loosing, will change the situation. 3. Prepare to be a Laborer: Pray that the Lord of the harvest will send laborers to reap the harvest in the area you have been prayer walking. If you keep on doing this, then perhaps He might reveal to you that you are the laborer He has been looking for. (Matthew 9: 36, 37) 4. Gather the Harvest: After banishing the demonic powers through prayer walk, immediately plunder his goods (people) i.e. gather the people in the House of Peace, disciple, baptize, break bread and equip them for multiplying church planting ministry. In other words establish a House Church right there. Refrain from bringing them to your own church. (Matthew 12: 29, 30; Acts 20: 26-28) 5. Celebrate: Periodically gather together all your prayer walkers and those who provide the prayer shield, for sharing, reporting, encouraging each other and thanking God for all the wonderful things He is accomplishing through prayer walking. Remember every conversion has political implications because every believer is an agent of change, which changes the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. Mission Accomplished: Remember the goal is not just prayer walking. It is only an instrument. The real aim is to find the man of peace in each locality and see that the city is saturated with house churches within walking distance of each other so that the whole city continually glorifies and worships God. Saturation church planting is not a haphazard series of events. It is goal driven process and the local church is God’s primary tool for achieving it. 70
PRAYER POSTURES Adopted from Becoming a Prayer Warrior by Elizabeth Alves
Subject: Spiritual Warfare
In whatever posture you pray, your heart should be right with God. Do not make any posture as a ritual. In every situation pray in spirit.
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall, by any means hurt you. (Luke 10: 19) 1.
Lying Prostrate Is True Worship Joshua 7: 6; Ezra 10: 1; Matthew 26: 39; Mark 14: 35
Kneeling On Knees 1 Kings 8: 54; Ezra 9: 5 Luke 22: 41; Acts 9: 40
Sitting Position 1 Chronicles 17: 16-27
First Friday of the month: International Level Spiritual Warfare
(Ephesians 1: 20-23)
Second Friday of the month: Spiritual Warfare at National Level
(Colossians 2: 13-15)
Third Friday of the month: Battle against Territorial Spirits
(2 Corinthians 10: 3-5)
Fourth Friday of the month: Battle for the Minds of Men
(Matthew 12: 28-30)
You are in the Lord’s army and prayer is the most powerful weapon of a prayer warrior. Pray on war footing Head Bowed To The Ground Exodus 34: 8; Psalm 72: 11; Nehemiah 8: 6
Standing Up Mark 11: 25; Luke 18: 18; Nehemiah 9: 5
Walking 2 kings 4: 35
Uplifted Hands 2 Chronicles 6: 12-13 Psalm 63: 4; 1 Timothy 2: 8 71
First Friday of the Month Subject: International Level Spiritual Warfare We overcome demons (1) in the Name of Jesus (2) by His Blood (3) by the Word (4) by Prayer (5) by our Testimony and (6) by the Power of the Holy Spirit. (Revelation 12: 10, 11; Mark 16: 17) Habakkuk lived at the time of national crisis with violence, iniquity, strife contention, powerless laws and perverse justice. God told him that more evil people are about to attack the city. He interceded and waited and God told him to write down the vision and run with it. He also told him that the just shall live by faith. With this faith, in the midst of devastation, Habakkuk boldly declared, “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” (Habakkuk 1: 1-5, 2: 1-4, 14, 5:17, 18) The whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one (1 John 5: 19). Satan is working fast because he knows that his time is short (Revelation 12: 2). Worship of Mammon, mind control, media, pornography, international Gay rallies, New Age, other false religions and their Gurus, plundering poor nations, environmental pollution, violation of human rights, millions of refugees, killing in the name of religion, terrorism, genocide and racism are at their height. No one can mock God and get away with it. Killing of missionaries and burning of churches, anti-conversion laws and other activities all over the world have resulted in major natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, droughts, famines and cyclones. Islamic nations do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that the Prince of peace died on the cross for them. No wonder they have no peace. God is constantly mocked even as Biblical values are eroded in Christian nations. Remember 11th September 2001 when World Trade Center and the highly fortified Pentagon became piles of rubble. (Deuteronomy 28: 45-52) Like Habakkuk in the midst of devastation, we must not focus on the circumstances but boldly declare that because He lives, the just shall live by faith and therefore the earth will be filled with the glory of our Lord. 73
:: PRAYER :: 1. Father we thank You for raising Christ far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And You have put all things in subjection under His feet. Father let not the nations be deceived because You cannot be mocked. What they sow, that they will also reap. (Ephesians 1: 21, 22; Galatians 6: 7) 2. O Father, we thank You because there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh but according to Spirit. For the law of the Spirit in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8: 1, 2) 3. O Father, grant strategic vision to all believers that they may run with it. May each member the church identify the real enemy and not waste their time and energy battling with each other but invest it against principalities, powers, and the rulers of darkness and against hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. 4. We pray that every member of the Church should seek and destroy every legal entry point of the demons. They should be well trained knowing that the strongman is fully armed with lies and deception and guards his house (hearts & minds of people). But we also know that when the just live by faith then the demons are no match for us. (Luke 11: 20-22) 5. Lord grant that believers will learn how to wield the Scripture ‘the double edged sword’ and demolish the demonic control of the minds of the people and open their spiritual eyes. May our ‘natural man’ die and be replaced with the mind of Christ. (1 Cor 2: 14-16) 6. Lord, thank You for raising us and seating us with Christ in heavenly places to trample the head of the Satan under our feet. You are now waiting for us to complete the task and to declare the earth ready for Your praise and worship. (Ephesians 2: 6; Romans 16: 20) 7. Second Friday of the Month Subject: Spiritual Warfare at a National Level. “For we are the temples of the living God. As God has said, ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God and they shall be my people.” (2 Corinthians 6: 16) When Paul visited Athens, the capital city of Greece and saw the city steeped in idolatry, his spirit was so provoked that he went around and talked about this problem with the Jews with anyone who cared to listen. Without being offensive he told that God cannot be made with gold, silver or stone. He boldly proclaimed Jesus, the Unknown God to the intellectuals. (Acts 17: 16-23) We know that if Paul had visited our country, he would not have sat quietly. Our history and culture tells us that our ancestors were consumed with idolatry for millennia, practiced temple prostitution, instituted a demeaning caste system, burnt living women on the funeral pyres of their dead husbands and shed innocent blood by offering human sacrifice, all in the name of religion. Even today young brides are burnt for dowry. False religious leaders promise green pastures but take millions of innocent sheep to the slaughterhouse. The whole country lies under the sway of the wicked one. Yet, unlike Paul, hardly anyone seems provoked in the spirit about it. (1 John 5: 19) In a temple town, seventy thousand people were invited to take a vow to finish off all the Christians and other minorities from this country. Intercessors were provoked in the spirit and mobilized thousands of believers to intercede. God heard their prayer and on the appointed day a thunderstorm hit the city. All the arrangements were destroyed and nobody turned up for the swearing in. The news papers screamed, ‘The mega show has become a mega flop.’ Even the land mourns because of the sins of the people and will not yield its strength. Only by our identificational repentance and intercession, the curses will be broken, the land will be healed and this country will be transformed. Therefore, the Lord is looking for intercessors.(Hosea 4: 1-3; Ezekiel 22: 30) 75
:: PRAYER :: 1. Oh Jehovah Tsidkenu our righteousness. Jesus is the Righteous Branch from the line of David and our righteousness, both for Jews and Gentiles. Lord anyone who believes in You will be washed by the blood and clothed with white robe of righteousness. We praise You for making the human heart Your holy temple to dwell. Lord provoke us in our spirit so that we may go and tell every citizen that he can also become a holy temple of the righteous God. (Jeremiah 23: 5, 6; Acts17: 24-31) 2. Father, let every one know that You have created all mankind in Your own image and likeness and You will not tolerate anyone who will despise those for whom Jesus has shed His precious blood. 3. Lord, let every citizen know that from You alone he can get the keys of the kingdom for shutting the gates of hell and opening the gates of heaven. If only two believers will agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done by our Father in heaven. (Matthew 16: 19; 18: 18-20) 4. O Father, let every citizen know that ‘ Moksha’ (salvation) is not through ‘Karmas’ (works) but as many as received Him and believed in His name, to them He gave the right to become the children of God. Father, You will not look at the sins of anyone who is covered with the blood of Jesus, because now they are truly in your image and likeness. (John 1: 12) 5. Lord, may every person know that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. We only have to confess our sins, repent, believe in Your Lordship and obey Your commandments. Father, let them find the ‘Sanatan Sat Guru’ (Eternal Truth Teacher) in Jesus. (Romans 5: 8; 1 John 1: 7-9) 6. Lord, we bless You because not only demons are subject to us, but through our identificational repentance and intercession, the names of countless citizens of our country can be written in the Book of the Lamb. Father, help us to fulfill this awesome responsibility. (Luke 10: 17-20) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 76
Third Friday of the Month Subject: Battle Against Territorial Spirits “The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool. (Acts 2: 34-35) The devil has appointed territorial spirits called principalities, powers and rulers of darkness who take care of the demonic activities in their territories. It may be a country or state or a city. Under them there are thousands of demons that obey their commands. (Ephesians 6: 12) When Daniel fasted and prayed for the release of Jewish people from slavery in Babylon, then an invisible angelic war started in the heavenly places. The territorial principality called the Prince of Persia stopped the angel who was sent to Daniel. Then Archangel Michael fought with the principality and released the messenger. Similarly, through our intercession, the demonic powers in the heavenlies are broken. Paul called the Devil ‘the prince of the power of the air’. (Daniel 10: 12, 13, 20, Ephesians 2:2) All major advances in the kingdom are associated with church planting movement. All church planting movements are preceded by major prayer movements. Prayer movements with identificational repentance result in breaking of the demonic strongholds. Breaking of the strongholds results in evil spirits vacating the area and then the churches can be planted and His kingdom comes. Ultimately all church planting is spiritual warfare. Without first destroying the demonic powers, the Kingdom of God cannot be established because both kingdoms cannot coexist. Many preach the gospel but leave the demons free to destroy their work. Due to lack of this understanding, life long efforts of many evangelists produce very little ‘fruit that remains’. Every believer has the authority to expel demons. (Matthew 12: 28-30) Every conversion is a political statement because every convert is an agent of change, who changes the equation between the government of light and the government of darkness. This is why every conversion is resisted tooth and nail. 77
:: PRAYER :: 1. Almighty Father, we thank You because one day You will make the devil, his principalities and powers and rulers of darkness and his evil army Your foot stool and they will be bound in the bottomless pit for a thousand years and then thrown into the lake of fire forever.Lord You have the keys and what You shut, no one can open and what You open, no one can shut. (Revelation 9: 11; 20: 1-3; 3: 7, 8) 2. Lord, we proclaim to all the peoples that the Lord of the universe now stands and knocks at the door of their hearts and if anyone hears His voice and opens the door, He will come in and will have a fellowship meal with him and his household. (Luke 19: 5-9; Revelations 3: 20) 3. May they know that all our deeds and our righteousness are like filthy rags. O Father, all people should know that they could be saved by grace through faith, which is a free gift of God. We are no longer sinners, because our sins have been removed as far as the east is from the west. (Ephesians 2: 8; Psalm 103: 12) 4. O Lord, we pray that all people may know that all paths do not lead to God. Only Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life and no one can go to the Father except through Him. May they also know that You and the Father are one. (John 14: 6; 10: 30, 38) 5. We pray that all Christians will constantly remember that the Lord Jesus is coming back soon and we shall be known by our fruits. May every Christian be fruitful; otherwise he will be thrown into the eternal fire. (John 15: 1-8) 6. O Holy Spirit, we thank You because He that is within us is greater than the devil, who is in the world. Thank You for empowering us to bind the territorial spirits and to bring the prince of the power of the air, crashing down like lightning. Lord let the whole world convert into Your kingdom. (1 John 4: Luke 10: 17, 18) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 78
Fourth Friday of the Month Subject: Battle for the Minds of Men. “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4: 12) The devil is cunning and has at least 6,000 years of experience in deceiving people. The devil attacked Eve at the level of her mind and both Adam and Eve ended up disobeying God. Disobedience resulted in the Spirit of God leaving them. They could no longer see God because Satan had blinded their mind’s eyes. (2 Corinthians 4: 4) Now when we confess our sins and repent and accept Jesus as Lord then the Spirit of God returns to dwell within us and we are born again. We are no longer controlled by our natural and logical minds but by the Spirit of God. If any one does not have the Spirit and the mind of Christ then he is not His own (Romans 8: 9, 1 Corinthians 2: 16). It is the word of God, which like a sword cuts asunder the connection between the human mind and the human spirit and replaces them with the Mind and the Spirit of God. (Hebrews 4: 12) We battle not with flesh but our weapons can demolish strongholds in the minds of the people. Only then are the captives set free to receive the Spirit of God. Unless you bind and expel the strongman and demolish his strongholds from the minds of the people, how else can you break the chains of oppression, restore spiritual sight and proclaim liberty to captives? (Luke 4: 18, Matt. 12: 29) During the Presidential visit, the whole city is prepared to receive him. All the rubbish and the squatters are removed. The roads are repaired, the buildings are painted and welcome arches are erected everywhere. Remember the King of kings and Lord of lords is coming soon. We have to remove ‘devil the squatter’ and all the spiritual filth and make sure that our city is all spruced up to welcome Jesus. We need to get into the fast track to finish the task. 79
:: PRAYER :: 1. O Father, ‘In the beginning was the word and the word was with God, and the word was God’. With that two-edged sword, which is the Word of God, we now divide asunder the hold of the strongman who through deception and lies controls the minds of the people. (John 1: 1; 1 Corinthians 10: 19-21) 2. Lord, on Your behalf we warn every believer of every nation, tribe, and language that if they will not make disciples of all nations by giving their testimony then the stones will cry out. (Luke 19: 40) 3. O Father, You are a just God. We pray that people should know that the time is drawing near, when You will judge the living and the dead. Therefore, we proclaim to all you people that you confess your sins, repent and accept Jesus as the Lord of your life and be saved before it is too late. (Revelation 18: 1-4) 4. Lord, we pray for those Christians who were once enlightened and have tasted the heavenly gift and had become partakers of Holy Spirit and know the judgment to come, yet have made no effort to win over any soul. Lord! We intercede for them that they may urgently seek to be fruitful so that their names may not be blotted out from the Book of the Lamb. (Hebrews 6: 4-6) 5. O Father, we pray that the Holy Spirit may be poured in abundance on this land, so that this land will be healed and there will be justice, godliness, peace and prosperity. Lord You will not despise a broken and a contrite spirit. (Psalm 51: 17; Isaiah 32: 15-18) 6. O Lord, thank You for giving us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus with the eyes of our hearts enlightened, we know what is the hope of our calling and our inheritance and the riches of glory in Christ Jesus... (Ephesians 1: 17-18) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 80
PRAYER FOR THE COUNTRIES WITHIN THE 10°/ 40° WINDOW Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Brunei, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Chad, China, Jebutti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Gaza Strip, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, North Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Taiwan, Tazakhstan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, U Arab, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, W. Sahara, Yemen. There are 4 billion people living in the 67 countries within the 10° latitude to 40° latitude in the north. Every major non-Christian religion is headquartered here like, Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism along with Indigenous religions and millions of people who have no religious beliefs at all. 1.2 billion Muslims live all over but predominantly in African and Middle East countries. Muslims do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross. There are 800 million Hindus all over the world but predominantly in India. Hindus believe in one God but worship millions of gods and goddesses. They also have demeaning caste system, which violates all human rights. From China to Japan they are mostly Buddhists who do not believe in the existence of God. Then there are the Tribals or the indigenous group of animists who worship evil spirits lurking in the forests. There are 100 million Tribals in India alone. 95% of these people are unevangelized. 95% of the poorest of the poor of the world live and die here. Boys are more valued here and the girl child may be aborted, abused, enslaved, tortured, may be sold off for slavery or prostitution or simply abandoned. Most remain uneducated and behind the four walls, even palace walls and may never attain their worth as human beings. At the present snail’s speed, the church is going; majority of them has a good chance of dying without ever hearing that Jesus died for them. 81
::PRAYER:: 1. Father, we thank You because You have created all humans in Your image and in Your own likeness. We have all been made fearfully and wonderfully and even while we were in our mothers’ womb, You knew every part of our bodies because You fashioned them. (Psalm 139: 14-16) 2. Father, the people of the 10/40 window have many needs but one thing they need which shall not be taken away from them. They need to sit at Your feet and choose the good portion. Lord, let them know that those who dwell in the shelter of the Most High will find refuge and protection from all kinds of attacks of the enemy. (Luke 10: 41; Psalm 91: 3) 3. Father, let them not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ because it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. (Romans 1: 16) 4. Father, let them know that only those who believe that Jesus is Your Son will be able to overcome the world. That he who has the Son has life and he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5: 4, 5, 10-12) 5. Father let all those millions of widows and female children and other women who have been abused, abandoned and sold for prostitution and enslavement may find their worth in You. That them know through Your servants and messengers that there is Father above who cares for them and there is a Lord who intercedes for them. (James 1: 27, John 14: 18-21) 6. Lord, in Your name we exhort and rebuke with all authority all those who despise the poor and the least of this world. We pronounce that the spirit of abuse, violence, exploitation, lust, hate and murder to be bound and made ineffective. (Titus 2: 11-15) 7. Lord we praise You because millions of intercessors have prayed in this last decade for the people of the 10/40 window and as a result, now there is less darkness and more light in the horizon. 82
Day: Saturday Subject: Own City. “In the morning sow your seed. And in the evening do not withhold your hand. For you do not know which will prosper. Either this or that, or both alike will be good. (Ecclesiastes 11: 6) 1. 2. 3. 4.

(Jeremiah 29: 7) (Ezekiel 9: 1-6) (Matthew 9: 37, 38) (Acts 16: 31)

First Saturday of the Month Subject: Transformation of the city “Seek the peace of the city where I have sent you and pray to the Lord for it, for in its peace you will have peace.” (Jeremiah 29: 7) Jesus touched a leper and healed him. By touching him Jesus broke the Jewish law, which annoyed the Jewish leaders, but He fulfilled a higher law of compassion. Jesus told him to go to the temple to fulfill the Mosaic Law. Instead the untouchable man went all over the town and told everybody about Jesus. Jesus could no longer enter the town because the crowds came to him outside the city. (Mark 1: 40-45) The Samaritan woman was a woman of ill reputation. She could not face the people of the town so she went to fill water at the well at lunchtime when other women were busy at home. After coming in contact with Jesus, the Samaritan woman was so impressed that she went to every house and brought the whole city to Jesus. (John 4: 39) The man from Gadara was totally demonized. After being released from thousands of unclean spirits, the man wanted to go with Jesus. Instead Jesus told him to go and give his testimony to his friends and relations in Decapolis. The man went and proclaimed Jesus all over Decapolis (which means ten cities) and all marveled. (Mark 5: 18-20) Dit was small, dark and physically handicapped. He was illiterate and belonged to the untouchable Churha community in Punjab. He came to know Jesus. During the day he went from village to village, buying and selling leather and in the evening he shared his faith with his Churha ‘Biradari’ (brotherhood). By the end of his life in 1905 he got 58,000 Churhas baptized. Jesus chose physically, socially and spiritually worthless people who changed their cities and their peoples. If these severely handicapped people could do it then we can all do it, provided we want to. 85
:: PRAYER :: 1. O most merciful Father, You loved the world so much that You incarnated in Your Son to dwell among ordinary people. Lord we invite You to dwell amongst all the ethnic groups in every part of our city, especially among the poor and the down trodden. (Revelation 21: 3, 4) 2. O merciful Lord, encourage us also to go like You and wipe away the tears from the eyes of the poor, the widows, the orphans, the slum-dwellers, the homeless, the disabled and oppressed people. 3. O Lord, grant that the drunkards, pimps and prostitutes, the gays and tax collectors of this place may find salvation and become sources of salvation for others. (Matthew 21: 31-33; 19: 11, 12) 4. Father, in the power of the Holy Spirit, we close down all the gates of Hell and put a seal of the name of our Lord Jesus, so that the people of our city may not enter Sheol. (Isaiah 5: 14) 5. Lord, You have said that what you have done unto the least of these you have done it unto Me. Lord grant that by our mercy ministry, there will be no hunger or thirst or anyone in dirty rags in our city. We pray that there will be no one sick who has not been taken care of and no prisoner who has not been visited by us. Grant that every Christian would be ready to share his bread with the hungry, clothes with the naked and all the necessary material blessings, which in Your mercy You have given in abundance to us. (Matthew 25: 31-40) 6. Lord, we thank You that we have been chosen to pray and bless and do all the necessary things for the welfare of our city. We know that we must seek Your kingdom first. Father we thank You for those who have forsaken their homes, loved ones, their jobs, property and security. Now we pray that You bless them a hundred fold. (Matthew 19: 27-30) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 86
Second Saturday of the Month Subject: Church Planting “I am sending you among your people and gentiles to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among the saints.” (Acts 26: 16-18) The Lord Jesus did not instruct Paul just to go and pray or preach or teach or do a healing crusade or convention or broadcast a message or to show a Jesus film because by themselves they do not result in churches being planted. Despite many astronomical claims, there is nothing to show after a few months. None of the above things are wrong but Church planting is not a haphazard series of events but rather a well-planned goal driven process, which results in multiplying the church planting movement. Sadly, we are mostly ‘Event Managers’ and need to change into ‘Process Managers’. Jesus gave Paul a whole package deal right from the opening of their spiritual eyes to their becoming inheritors of the kingdom. We must understand that the fruit of the church is not a new believer but a new church. Jesus gave very specific instructions on church planting. He sent his seventy disciples two by two to find the ‘person of peace’, live and eat there, conduct an in-house healing and deliverance ministry (Luke 10: 1-9), make disciples, baptize and bring about a rapid church planting movement. (Acts 16: 5) We should do whatever it takes to saturate our city with rapidly multiplying churches. When a child learns the Alphabet then his goal is to learn all the way to Z. This Z thinking is very essential in church planting so that we have the aims, objectives, goals and the methodology worked out clearly before we launch out to avoid failure and disappointment. Without a well-planned and systematic approach for church planting we might as well be operating a religious treadmill which goes nowhere. 87
:: PRAYER :: 1. O Father, You are Jehovah Shalom, the Prince of Peace who was promised to us to bring peace in the hearts and minds of the people. Salvation, glory, honor and power belong to Lord our God, Alleluia! (Revelation 19: 1) 2. Father, we pray that when Your servants go to visit, You will show them the Persons of peace whom you have chosen from the foundations of the earth. May they receive them, feed them and listen to them and accept You as Lord and Savior. May these persons of peace, their households and neighbors get baptized and plant a church in their own houses. (Acts 15: 14; Romans 11: 5) 3. Lord, every Christian should know that You have sent them as priests to their work place. Grant that they may grab every opportunity to witness to their fellow workers and take time to pray and witness, until the work place is transformed. 4. Lord, the young birds build new nests, produce babies and one-day they all fly away and build new nests in other places. Similarly, young Christians may build new groups among their Gentile friends, which will multiply and fill the whole city. Lord let no one despise their youth. (1 Timothy 4: 12-16) 5. O Father, We pray that the Christian women should show love to their neighbors of other castes, and visit them and become responsible for their salvation. (Psalm 68: 11; Romans 16: 1-5) 6. Lord, we thank You for choosing us to preach repentance and remission of sins in Your name to all nations. We thank for not calling the righteous but sinners to repentance. Let many people come to repentance and be baptized and receive the Holy Spirit as a result of our ministry. (Luke 24: 47; Acts 2: 38) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 88
Third Saturday of the Month Subject: Prayer for Laborers “When Jesus saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion and said, “the harvest is truly plentiful but laborers are few.” (Matthew 9: 36, 37; John 4: 34-38) If you have acres of good land, good seed, plenty of water, manure, etc. but no laborers then you cannot have a harvest. Jesus never asked for highly qualified leaders but for laborers who will go into the harvest fields and dirty their hands and feet. The church managed to grow from Jerusalem to Rome and beyond without a seminary until the revolt of Martin Luther. The Catholic Church started its first seminary in 1545 to produce qualified Reverends to protect the wholesale exodus of monks and nuns to get married. We all know that the more qualified a person is, the less useful he is as laborer in the field. It is like having an army full of generals but no foot soldiers. How can you win a war without foot soldiers? Yes we do need a few generals but laborers are what Jesus specifically needs.
:: PRAYER :: 1. O Father, you are the vinedresser, Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. We plead that no branch should remain fruitless; otherwise it will be thrown into fire. Grant that every branch be loaded with ‘fruit that remains’. (John 15: 1-8) 2. Lord, let Your laborers do whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is anything worthy of praise, may their minds dwell on these things. (Philippians 4: 8) 3. Lord, in Your mercy, we will be judged not by academic knowledge but by our fruits. We know that every laborer who goes out to gather fruit will surely be persecuted but he who perseveres till the end will be victorious. Lord, let every enemy of Yours may learn that it is foolishness to kick against the edge of a sharp axe. (2 Timothy 3: 12; Matthew 7: 16, 20; Acts 26: 14)
A beehive is a hub of activity. The queen bee produces thousands of ‘worker bees’ and only a few ‘guards’. The result - plenty of honey. No workers, no honey. Similarly few laborers - little spiritual harvest.
4. Lord, like the poor widow of Zarephath, with our own jars of oil and bins of flour we will help in sending and supporting reapers into Your harvest field. We pray that every Christian family will generously support at least one missionary. (Philippians 4: 19)
Jesus discipled twelve fisherman for three and a half years. Then he took the test and asked Peter, ‘Do you love me’? Peter said of course I do. Then Jesus commanded him to take care of His sheep. Loving Jesus and loving the sheep are interlinked. If we really love Jesus then we will go out, find the lost sheep, and lovingly bring them into the fold.
5. Lord, for those church planters who go to make disciples, we pray for enlargement of their vision, plenty of spiritual fruit and abundant financial resources for their families so that they may lack nothing. We build a hedge of protection of Your blood around their homes and families. (Isaiah 54: 10-17)
The persecuted little house churches produced amazing number of quality leadership. Jesus did not say ‘follow our program’ but ‘follow me’. The apprentice system is still the best model of equipping the disciples. Paul as a father could confidently say, ‘You have carefully followed my teachings, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance and persecution.’ How many of us could make that kind of statement today? (2 Timothy 3:10, 11)
6. O Father, we thank You, for challenging us to love the Lord with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our strength and with all our mind. Help us to love our neighbors as spiritual fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters. (Luke 10: 27, 1 Corinthians 4: 15)
7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 90
Fourth Saturday of the month Subject: Prayer for the family “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Acts 16: 31; Joshua 24: 15) The book of Ephesians teaches us that before engaging in spiritual warfare, it is important to make sure that all our relationships with the family, servants, masters, the church and God are right. Husbands love your wives; otherwise your prayers will be hindered. Wives submit to your husbands as to the Lord. Children honor and obey your parents so that you may live long. Fathers do not provoke your children; instead bring them up in the fear of the Lord. Servants, serve your masters in all sincerity. Masters, stop threatening your servants, knowing you have a master in heaven. Finally, all believers must submit to ‘one another in the fear of the Lord’. The expression ‘one another’ comes over 50 times in the New Testament, like speaking the truth in love, encouraging and building up each other (1 Tim. 5: 11), serving one another (Galatians. 5: 13) etc. (Ephesians 4: 15, 5: 22, 33; 6: 1-9; 5: 21) After correcting all these relationships, you will be ready to submit to God and then resist the devil and he will flee from you. Now you have ‘Shalom Bayit’ or a peaceful home, which pursues peace. (James 4: 7; Psalm 34: 11) In our families, we to pray for our material needs only, including healing from sickness, success in examinations, good job opportunities and marriage partners. If you desire that their names be written in the Lamb’s Book, then you must teach them scriptures, intercession, praying for the sick, prayer walking and spiritual warfare so that they can plant churches from childhood. Most of the church planters in China are between the ages of 13 to 19 years. Jesus started His ministry at the age of twelve years. He confounded the temple scholars and told His parents that He must be about His heavenly Father’s business. We need to do the same. (Luke 2: 49) 91
:: PRAYER :: 1. O Father, You created the family of Adam and Eve and blessed them. Father we pray that just like You put a hedge around Job’s household so that the devil could not enter without Your permission. We now ask You to do the same around us. (Job 1: 10) 2. Lord, grant that Satan should have no entry points in our homes through T.V., magazines, novels, calendars, photos, tapes, CD’s, cinema songs, statues, heirlooms, decorations, drugs, alcohol and any thing else that might blot out our names from Your Book. Instead we pray that our family will grow in the fear of the Lord so that their names are written in the Book of the Lamb. (Deuteronomy 7: 25, 26) 3. Lord, You have commanded us to love our neighbors. Let our home be a house of prayer for people of all castes and creeds. Because of loving relationships within our family, life style, witness and prayer may our neighbors believe in You. (Romans 13: 8-10) 4. Lord, You have commanded us to seek the kingdom of heaven and Your righteousness first. We repent, because so far we have been praying more for worldly needs and have neglected the spiritual needs of our family, neighbors and the city. (Matthew 6: 31-34) 5. Lord, we repent because many of our relatives and friends are still nonbelievers or only nominal believers, because we have not interceded enough for them. Lord we confess our sins and the sins of our friends and relations. We repent and ask You to forgive us so that we may all become Your children. (Luke 16: 27, 28; Acts 10: 24) 6. O Father, we thank You, because we are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints of the household of God. You will not smite the earth with a curse because of the right relationships in our household. (Ephesians 2: 19, Malachi 4: 5, 6) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 92
TEN STEPS TO CHURCH PLANTING BASED ON LUKE 10 Goal: To reap the harvest. Problem: Laborers are few. Job description: Search and destroy the strongman; Find the man of peace; Plant a multiplying church; Prepare laborers to reap the harvest. 1. Go two by two: Do not take excess baggage. Remember you are going as a lamb and the wolves (evil spirits whose leader is called the Strongman) are waiting to welcome you. Go quietly and prayerfully. Focused prayer walking will reveal the legal and illegal entry points (the gates of Hell). Make a secret entry. Avoid greeting anyone on the way. Remember you are on a search and destroy mission. (Luke 10:1, 4) There are at least five kinds of prayers you are praying as you are going. Firstly you are asking for nations of that locality because God has asked you to ask for nations (Psalm 2:8). Secondly you are praying to the Lord of harvest for laborers (Math. 9: 37-38). Thirdly you are binding the strongmen in that area. Fourthly you are praying for the revelation of the ‘man of peace’ (Math. 10: 11). Finally you are blessing all the families in that location.(Genesis 12:3) 2. Bind the Strongman and destroy all the strongholds he has built such as centers of occult, alcoholism, pornography, movie theater, smuggling, atheism, idolatry and others. Do not forget the worship of Mammon the god of greed and the Idiot Box in ordinary homes. Then plunder the possessions (peoples) of the strongman (Math. 12:29). People are possession. They are God’s property but Satan has taken them captive. God wants you to rescue them and make them His inheritance. (Psalm 2:8)
Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi who trained Jewish disciples in Jewish homes in the Jewish culture. The house of peace is the most contextual place for discipling nations in their own cultural context. People are His tools. This is where He will transform ordinary people into extraordinary channels of His message. Bless every family as you prayer walk (Genesis 12: 3). Keep prayer walking, binding, loosing and blessing until the ‘Person of Peace’ invites you. Eat and sleep there. You are expecting this family to join the Household of God and so behave like a member of the household and not a just a formal religious visitor (Eph. 2: 19). Do not go from house to house of non-believers (Matthew 10: 5). When there are enough believers in the locality then you can go from house to house. (Luke 10:5-8; Acts 20: 20) Like Cornelius and Lydia, the Persons of Peace (Huis Eirene) are God fearing and influential otherwise they will not be able to feed you and take care of you and your companions. They are not necessarily Christians at this point. It is your job now not only to bring them into the fold but also to help them establish a church in their house. The persons of peace know the local people and therefore they will gather their friends and relations in their house who you have to plunder from the clutches of the evil one. First expel demons and pray for the sick (Math. 10: 8). Where ever Jesus went He first expelled demons and cured diseases and then only He taught. Likewise when Philip the evangelist went to Samaria to preach, the demons came out with a loud voice and the sick were healed. No New Testament churches were planted without a power encounter. There will be healthy awe of the Lord and people will ask what shall we do? (Acts 8: 5, 6)
3. Find the House of Peace. Finding the ‘Shalom Bayit’ or a ‘Peaceful Home’ is central to the strategy of church planting. It will be your operational base (Church) from where you will launch out to establish the kingdom of God.
4. Then you disciple them through ‘truth encounter’ until they come to repentance (Math. 4:17). Entrance into the Kingdom is through deep repentance. The sacrifices of God are a broken and a contrite heart, which He will not despise. They must confess all sins layer by layer like peeling an onion. Hidden sins will make a person an ineffective Christian. All generational curses must be identified and broken. Like Paul they must undergo deep apostolic conversion.
In other words they must feel intensely that they must recompense by witnessing to the lost and bring them into the Kingdom. (Luke 24:47; Psalm 51:17)
that it is spent for apostolic purposes (church planting). Not only spiritual conversion but also ‘financial conversion’ is a must. (Acts 5: 2)
5. Baptize: without delay. ‘Mikve’ is a Hebrew word for ‘Bath of Purification’. Gentiles came to the temple and took bath (baptism) of purification without the help of a priest. Baptism was their personal covenant with God. In the new dispensation they did not go to the temple but took ‘bath of purification’ any where like the Ethiopian in a pond, Lydia in a river and Cornelius at his home.
8. Start a House Church with an open format based on the 1Corinthians 14: 26-31. Do not lead from the front but facilitate. Encourage them to share their dreams, visions, prophecies, revelations etc. Prophecy includes edification, exhortation and comforting. Emphasize ‘one another’ which comes 44 times in the New Testament. Make sure everyone participates and the assembly is not hogged by one or two compulsive talkers. Encourage them to multiply from the beginning by sharing their new found faith with their ‘Oikos’ or the extended family: in the wheat fields, work site, office during tea/lunch break, kitchen, almost anywhere, where two or three gather together in His name. (Math. 18: 20)
No where in the New Testament is the authority to baptize delegated only to the pastors. Every believer, regardless of age or gender, is commissioned to baptize (Math 28: 19). All baptisms in the New Testament times, took place on the same day of their repentance and confession of faith in the Lordship of Jesus. A delay in baptism results in the loss of harvesting of souls. (Acts 19: 5, 6) 6. Teach Obedience: To obey means to come under the authority of Jesus. They must discard the devil - the previous authority. As a household of God they must have fellowship together, they must eat together just as a family does. Eating is very important in caste, status and race ridden societies. Teaching must lead to ‘Apostolic Conversion’, which challenges people to ‘go’ and make disciples of all nations. Finally they must pray intercessory prayer with ‘one accord’, just like our Lord is doing for the last 2000 years. (Acts 2: 42, Heb. 7: 25) Almost the first thing to teach is spiritual warfare because the expelled evil spirit will return with seven more deadly spirits and if this person cannot protect himself then his condition will be worse then before. Therefore the identification benchmark of a believer is that he can expel demons. (Mark 16:17) 7. Share Material Blessings: New Believers must learn to share their material blessings. Poor widows gave their last dime or the last morsel for the kingdom. Poverty is a curse (Deut. 28: 48). They can be blessed by giving. Teach them to give money or in kind, from day one. It should be put at the apostle’s feet so 95
9. Equip: The mandate of the Church Universal will be worship. The mandate of the Church now is discipling the nations by equipping the saints. Invite prophets, apostles, teachers and others from the network of churches in your city. This will soon reveal different giftings in your church and also create a bond of unity in the city. Without apostles and prophets there will be no church planting activity (Ephesians 2: 20; 4:11, 12). Equipping does not mean only transferring knowledge and information. It includes imparting Biblically sound church planting skills and empowerment. The lecture method is probably the least effective approach. Get in the fast lane by using the highly interactive open format of the disciples who saturated the area from Jerusalem to Rome and beyond. 10. Send: Fast, pray and lay hands on them and send them to repeat the whole process. Jesus said, ‘As the Father has sent me so I send you’. You have fathered a healthy church, equipped it and now you bless them and send them. It is time for them to go and plant new churches.

First Sunday of the Month
:: PRAYER ::
Subject: Cry for My Beloved City. “Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continuously goes weeping, bearing seeds for sowing shall doubtless return rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” (Psalm 126: 5, 6) Sunday worship is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible. The only time the disciples got together on the first day of the week was to break bread when Paul visited them at Troas. The Jewish first day of the week started on Saturday evening. The first day of the week meeting actually took place on Saturday night with people bringing bread for supper. Paul left early in the morning for Assos while others went to work. The first day of the week was a working day and not a day of rest. Actually Saturday night worship is an excellent idea because it will save the families from worshiping ‘the Bottle’, the Bollywood and the Idiot Box. It will also leave Sunday free for church planting. Paul proclaimed the gospel publicly and from house to house. There were no well-prepared sermons on Sundays. Paul’s method of communicating the whole counsel of God was through reason, persuasion and dialogue (Acts 18: 4, 19). There was no time limit. The bishops and elders were overseers of the house churches. Overseeing in Greek means overshadowing, just like the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary (Luke 1: 35). They knew that God owned the sheep because they were His purchased possession. With such loving Mentoring, the church naturally grew explosively. (Acts 20: 7-13, 20, 27-30) Peter, Paul and Jesus Himself used the resources available in the houses of the believers to expand the kingdom. Sadly, the Christian houses are no longer the focus of spiritual activities and no wonder we now have a disastrous family situation. We need to urgently deploy the enormous human and material resources of the families so that it becomes a Great Commission training center. God in His economy has chosen the believers’ humble households to disciple all nations. He has appointed ordinary people as Royal Priests to accomplish the enormous task of reaping the entire harvest from the city in Christian homes.
1. O Father, we know for sure that neither death nor life nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus. Lord help us to use our house as a Great Commission training center to spread this message. (Romans 8: 38, 39)
2. O Father, thank You for providing us with food, water, electricity, communication, education and every spiritual blessing in our home. Now we pray that these facilities be used for the fulfillment of Your covenant with our forefather Abraham, to be a blessing to all the families in our neighborhood. (Ephesians 1: 3; Deuteronomy 8: 18) 3. Lord, we pray for our neighbors that according to Your promise, pour Your Spirit on them, so that they do not worship the works of man’s hands but may prophecy and dream dreams and see visions of their Creator and Savior. We pray that they may worship You in spirit and in truth, in their homes. (Joel 2: 28, 29, John 4: 23, 24) 4. Lord, we pray that disciples will visit other believers in their homes and reason, persuade and dialogue with them and share the whole counsel of God until every family knows that they are a nation of priests, a chosen generation to proclaim the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. (1 Peter 2: 9) 5. Lord, we pray that Your Name should be great among the Gentiles in all places, from the rising of the sun to its going down. In every home in our city, in their culture and traditions, incense and pure offerings should be offered in Your name. (Malachi 1: 11) 6. O Father, we thank You for sending us to break the fallow ground, prepare it, sow the seed and then water it with tears. Only then we will return with sheaves with shouts of joy. (Psalm 126: 5, 6) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today.
Second Sunday of the Month Subject: The House Church (Ezekiel 4: 1-3) Aquila and Priscilla greet the Church in thy house. (1 Corinthians 19: 16) First century believers were severely persecuted by the Jews, the gentiles and the Roman government. They met secretly in homes in very small numbers. If caught they could be beaten up, jailed, sawn asunder and even fed to hungry lions. The price for believing in Jesus was high and yet, when people saw how Christians loved each other, thousands believed in Jesus. There was no instrumental music, no loud worship and no sermons. They lived by faith and quietly shared their faith with others. They also had no foreign funding. In spite of these or perhaps because of this they multiplied and grew rapidly. (Acts 9: 31) Today the church has completely changed in character and content. The worship is usually deafening. Oblivious of the neighborhood, the worship leaders scream through the loud speakers with worshippers jumping around and joining in making weird noises, all in the name of spiritual ecstasy. The atmosphere to an outsider is hysterical. Sadly, the Holy Spirit comes only once a week, between 10 and 12 AM on Sundays. The message with triumphalistic language extols success achieved through foreign money and exploitation of the poor evangelists. Most of the healing crusades are stage managed, full of gimmickry, the more so when a foreigner is present. When an evil spirit is removed, there is so much shouting, screaming, pulling of hair and jumping around that it is difficult to tell who actually has the evil spirit. Instead of finding Jesus in all this, the people of other faiths find it very offensive. (1 Corinthians 14: 24, 25) Every thing we do today is far removed from the secrecy and the simplicity of the New Testament Church. Our Lord did not teach the doctrine of worship to a religious leader but to the Samaritan woman of ill repute. To her worship meant bringing the entire Gentile village to the feet of Jesus. (John 4: 23, 24, 39) If we want to have the same success in rapidly advancing the kingdom of God as our mother church then we need to unload all the extra-biblical garbage. We need to plant first century churches in the twenty-first century. 101
:: PRAYER :: 1. O Elohim, You are the Sovereign God of the universe, who covenants with His people to preserve His creation. Those who wait on You shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. Heaven and earth will pass away, but Your words will by no means pass away. Lord let Your Church be without spot or wrinkle. (Isaiah 1: 25; 40: 31; Matt. 24: 35) 2. O Lord, grant that many prayer walkers will go into broadways and narrow lanes and close the gates of Hades, so that Satan will not hinder the people from entering the church. Grant O Father that just like the Jerusalem church, 3000 souls, then 5000 and finally multitudes of men and women from our city will gather in small groups to be discipled. 3. Father, we pray that just like all healthy living things reproduce themselves, let Your Bride also reproduce herself and multiply and fill the earth. That the church may not be preoccupied with just winning sheep but also flock them into local churches. 4. Lord, we uphold all the righteous people of this city that they may stand in the gap between You and the perishing. We pray that they may obtain maps of the city and like Ezekiel lay an intercessory siege against the powers of darkness. (Ezekiel 4: 1-3) 5. O Father, Abraham interceded for sinful cities of Sodom and Gomorrah but since they did not have even ten righteous people, the cities were destroyed. Now we pray for plenty of intercessors so that this city will not be destroyed. (Genesis 18: 22, 23) 6 We thank You for loving the people of our city so much that You gave Your only Son that, whoever believes in Him, will not perish but have everlasting life. Lord, thoroughly purge the dross from Your church and help us to plant the same kind of churches which You taught Your disciples to establish. (John 3: 16; Isaiah 1: 25) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 102
Third Sunday of the Month Subject: City Government Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God. He gives it to whomsoever He will, and sets over it the lowest of men. (Romans 13: 1; Daniel 4: 17) The blood of the Lamb slain on the cross has redeemed us and made us kings and priests (Revelation 5: 10). Jesus is the King of kings and the government is upon His shoulders (Isaiah 9: 7). We are the servant kings and He is our King. He is the head and we are His body, His arms, legs and shoulders. Therefore, the government is really on our shoulders and we are responsible for establishing His righteous government on earth. So if our city is in bad shape with corruption, lack of water, electricity and other essential items, bad roads and filthy slums with people defecating all over the place, then we are to be blamed for bad governance. We are the repairer of roads and restorers of the waste places. (Isaiah 58: 12) Every day we pray, ‘Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth’ but we do not see His will being done here because we do nothing about it. Kingdom means government. When we pray for the kingdom of God, we are in effect praying for the Government of God. Jesus said ‘All authority in heaven and earth has been given to Me.’ But we do not see His authority here on earth. Ignorance and dereliction of duty by the heirs has resulted in the devil taking over the authority and the government. We must take the authority and throw him out and install the government of God so that His will is done in our city and the nation. For this we need to prayer walk and know the city just like Nehemiah did. He mobilized every household for repairing the fallen wall right in front of their houses. Similarly we should take charge of our locality and through intercession, repair roads, provide food, water, shelter, toilet facility and all the other essential services necessary to bring dignity in the lives of the poor people. As servant kings we must rule the nation on behalf of Jesus our King. (Mathew 5: 5) 103
:: PRAYER :: 1. Father God, the word that goes out of Your mouth shall not return void but it shall prosper and accomplish the purpose for which it was sent. Let the mountains and the hills break forth into singing and all the rivers and the trees clap their hands. (Isaiah 55: 11, 12) 2. Lord, You have redeemed us to bring in the rule of love, peace justice, equality and prosperity for all. Today we uphold all the officials of our city and the nation, in Your powerful name, before the throne of Grace that they may know and fear their creator. Let our light so shine before men that people may see their good works and glorify our Father in heaven. (Matthew 5: 16) 3. Lord, we pray that when Your servant kings go to visit the perishing, that they may find open doors, hearts and minds. That they may boldly profess the good news of Your government and that they would effectively deal with the adversary. (Colossians 4: 2, 3) 4. O Father, let us who are Your servant kings, comprehend the awesome authority and power You have given to us. May we reign on earth and remove the kingdom of darkness and bring in Your righteous rule of justice, peace and love in our city. That we who are Your prophets, priests and kings will zealously serve the people and transform the nation. (Revelation 5: 10; Amos 5: 11-15) 5. Lord, You cried over Your City Jerusalem. We repent because in spite of Your clear command to pray diligently and to work for the welfare of our city, we have not done so. Lord, burden us, Your stewards, to rule our city with tears. (Jeremiah 29: 7; Matthew 23: 27-39) 6. Father, we pray for those who participate in Your Government that You bless them and keep them, You make Your face to shine upon them and be gracious to them; Lord, lift up Your countenance upon them and give them peace. (Numbers 6: 24-26) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 104
Fourth Sunday of the Month Subject: Intimacy with God and with Each Other “And they continued steadfastly in the apostolic teaching and fellowship, eating of food and in prayers and the Lord added to their numbers daily.” (Acts 2: 42-47) Our mother church in the first century met in homes where the apostles taught. Together they searched the scriptures. Together they prayed. Together they shared their material blessings. Together they had fellowship. Together they ate food. Together they went fishing for souls. Together they brought people to their homes for discipling and the Lord added to their numbers daily. They had been trained by Jesus to be expert fishers of men. They went out, with ‘one accord’, which means with well-planned strategy to catch men. Evidently they were greatly successful because the temple authorities persecuted them and blamed them for saturating the city with their doctrine. (Acts 5: 1720, 28). Soon thousands of people were worshipping together in homes. God told Jeremiah to take the new linen sash from his waist and hide it in a hole near the river Euphrates. After some days he got the cloth back again but by this time it was ruined and profitable for nothing. Linen sash is not a showpiece but a very intimate multi-utility possession. It is used as a towel, a head covering for protection from the hot sun etc. It indicates servant-hood. Jesus used it to wipe the feet of the disciples. God wants to have the same intimate relationship with His people and use them for His service. Sadly His people are not available to Him during the weekdays and hide themselves in the church on Sundays. In the process they have ruined themselves and become useless for God. He cannot use the rotten ‘Pew Potatoes’. He needs people who are available to Him for daily use, to complete His mission. (Jeremiah 13: 1-11) Many churches are busy with their ‘merry go round’ programs without serious concern for intimacy with God or for His mission. If we want to see our nation reached, then we must be available to do things together with God. 105
:: PRAYER :: 1. Lord, thank You for Your promise that if we are obedient to You then five of us will chase a hundred and a hundred of us will put ten thousand to flight. But if we are disobedient then one enemy will chase a thousand and two of them will put 10,000 Christians to flight. Therefore, we should be sober and vigilant because, our adversary walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Father, keep us intimately wrapped around you and use us. (Leviticus 26: 8; Deuteronomy 32: 30; 1 Peter 5: 8) 2. Father, You will not do any thing in our city or in our nation, unless You first reveal Your secret to Your servants the prophets. Lord we pray that You will speak to men, women and children in dreams and visions and together they will prophesy. (Amos 3: 7, Joel 2: 28) 3. O Father, we pray that peoples of other faiths will see dreams and visions of Jesus. May they see how we live together and love each other. Then let them come and grab our sleeves and say, ‘Let us go with you for we hear that God is with you.’ (Zechariah 8: 23) 4. Father, when believers come together, let each one bring a psalm, a teaching, a tongue and its interpretation and a revelation. May men, women and children prophesy, share visions and dreams. Let all things be done together for edification of the church. (1 Corinthians 14: 26-31) 5. Father, we pray for the multitudes who are in the valley of decision. O Lord, the light of the sun and the moon will grow dark on them forever. Let not Your people hide and be ruined like the linen sash but rise up and serve the multitudes to make the right decision. (Joel 3: 14, 15) 6. Lord, we thank You for Your promise, ‘O Little flock, do not be afraid because it has pleased the Father to give you the kingdom.’ Father give Your little flock the strategy to do the right things with one accord. Teach us the necessary ‘skills’ to become expert fishers of men. (Luke 12: 32) 7. Pray on important news items mentioned in the media today. 106
First Day of the Fifth Week Prayer for the Extended Household (Oikos) All those people, with whom we come in contact regularly, become part of our extended household. It is our direct responsibility to bring them in to the kingdom of God through our intercession and sharing the gospel and if necessary by sharing our material blessings. Our extended family (Oikos) are people like our cook, maid, washerman, milkman, newspaperman, green grocer, butcher, rickshawman, mechanic, driver, traveling partners, classmates and workers in the offices, neighbors, friends, and distant relatives etc. Write down the names of at least ten persons of other faiths who you wish to bring to Jesus. Prayer - Lord, We intercede for (1) (names ....................) that their hearts and homes, be opened for prayer, teaching and fellowship, just as Cornelius and Lydia opened their hearts and homes for Peter and Paul and gathered people in their homes. (Acts 10: 24; 16: 15) (2) Lord we break the spiritual bonds and break the curses of (Names ........................) by the authority of the Holy Spirit in us. We pray that they may come to know Jesus as their Savior and glorify Him in their bodies, which is the temple of God.
Second Day of the Fifth Week Prayer for Nominal Christians Write down the names of ten nominal or backslid Christians and intercede for their revival. Pray for them until they also become prayer warriors and begin to fulfill the great commission among the gentiles. Release them from the bondage of the Satan and from any curses, which might be operating in their lives, through fasting and prayer. Pray: - We pray those (names (1) may know that they are members of the household of God (Ephesians 2: 19) (2) They are children of God (John 1: 12, 13) (3) They are ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5: 17-20) (4) Their sins have been forgiven (1 John 1: 7-9) (5) They were sinners, but now they are not (1 John 3: 9) (6) Because the Spirit of God is in them, they are temples of God. (2 Corinthians 6: 16) (7) Satan cannot touch them. (1 John 5: 18) (8) They have been chosen to bring forth fruit that remains. Lord we pray that these people will know that they have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come and if they do not revive now then it will be impossible to renew them to repentance because they crucify the Son of God again and put Him to open shame. (Hebrews 6: 5, 6) 1. ..............................................
(3) Lord give us such burden, that we continue to pray for them until Christ be born in their hearts and homes. (Galatians 4: 19)

Third Day of the Fifth Week
A DIALOGUE Devotee
Lord, where do I have the time and the means to go and preach among all those gentiles?
Son, all your time and means are mine. You have been commissioned to make disciples of all nations. You may disobey Me at your own risk. (Revelations 7: 9, 10)
Lord, the ends of the earth is too far?
2. That they may make many worthy disciples who will go out and make more disciples. (2 Timothy 2: 2)
Son, the ends of the earth begins at your place. Begin your ministry from here. (Acts 1: 8)
3. That they may know their authority to identify the plans of the wicked and nullify it. (Mark 16: 17)
Lord, it seems impossible to redeem this corrupt country.
Son, there is nothing impossible for Me. You pray and I shall heal this land. (2 Chronicles 7: 14)
How can our dead and barren churches be revived?
Son, you fast and pray and I will put life in the dry bones. (Ezekiel 37: 1-14)
Lord, I do not know how to fight with Satan?
Son, if you intercede like Daniel then my angels in heaven will defeat the armies of Satan. (Daniel 10: 12, 13)
Prayer for Saints Intercession for ten missionaries, preachers, pastors and Christian workers of different institutions and organizations of your area (Ephesians 6: 18) 1. May (name ...............) become the salt and the light of this earth according to the will of God. (Matthew 5: 13-16)
4. That they may cleanse and sanctify themselves with the washing of the water by the word and prepare a Bride without spots and wrinkles but holy and without blemish. (Ephesians 5: 26, 27) 5. That they may not be deceitful workers, working for the filthy lucre nor be lazy but may know that they are King’s workers and co-workers with Christ. (2 Corinthians 11: 13; 6: 1) 1. ..............................................
How can this wicked city be redeemed?
Son, I have appointed you a watchman of this city. You must understand that your redemption depends on the redemption of this city. Therefore you must sigh and cry for your city. (Ezekiel 9: 3-6)
Woman Devotee : 109
Lord I do not have money, and cannot go anywhere? 110
Daughter, my army moves on its knees. On your knees you can go anywhere without money.
Lord, my neighbor is completely under the control of the devil. What can I do?
Love your neighbor as yourself. Fellowship with her in her joys and sorrows. Pray and break her curses. Only your mediation can save her. (Jeremiah 9: 17-21)
Lord, is it proper to break our denominational church?
Old nests are broken so that new nests can be made by the birds. Young people leave their parents to make new homes. In the same way the churches shall establish new churches and fill the earth. (Acts 11: 19-21)
Lord, what should I do for my further education?
There are many teachers in the world, but not many fathers. It was the quest of worldly knowledge, which destroyed Adam and Eve. Therefore find a spiritual father like Paul, who is worth following and then do whatever he tells you. (1 Corinthians 4: 15, 16)

Lord I have many friends who I would like to bring in to Your kingdom but do I have the authority to disciple, expel demons, pray for the sick, bring people to repentance, baptize and equip new believers.
I started my ministry at the age of twelve years. I went to the temple and declared that from now on I am about my heavenly Father’s business. Regardless of age or gender, I have given power and authority to all those who believe in My Name to expel demons, pray for the sick, to disciple, to baptize, equip new believers and send them to plant new churches. (Mark 16:17; Matt. 28:19)
BREAKING CURSES The Ten Commandments of Moses clearly teach us that our God is a jealous God and that He does not tolerate the worship of any other god. Any one indulging in this sin can be cursed right up to the third and fourth generation. This may not appear fair but it is true. King David committed adultery and murder and these character traits persisted in his family for many generations. (Exodus 20: 3-5)
3. If you have exploited widows, orphans or have not given proper wages to poor servants. If you have discriminated against people because of their being of low-castes, illiterates or poor. (Deuteronomy 27: 19) 4. If you have committed adultery. If abortion has been done in your family, then it amounts to murder. (Deuteronomy 27: 20-23; Leviticus 18: 22) 5. If you have criticized a believer, pastor or your brother, then the curse of murder is upon you. (1John 3: 15; 4: 20)
Both blessings and curses are mentioned in Deuteronomy 27 and 28. In chapter 28 only 13 verses speak about blessings; where as 52 verses are about curses. Altogether the word ‘curse’ comes in various forms about 230 times in the Bible. Perhaps you think that as a Christian you are free from these curses. This is misconception. Unless you confess and revoke all your sins and the sins of your forefathers, you may not be completely free.
7. If you have given preference to any other teaching, tradition or ritual, which is extra-biblical. (Galatians 1: 8; Revelation 22: 18, 19)
The Scriptures emphasize the importance of repentance. John the Baptist (Matthew 3: 2); the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 4: 17; Luke 24: 47), Peter (Acts 2: 38; 2 Peter 3: 9), Paul (Acts 17: 29, 30) all give priority to repentance. John called the self-righteous Jews, a brood of vipers and told them to repent. (Matthew 3: 7- 9)
8. Your house may be cursed if it is built on land where innocent blood has been shed or occult has been practiced in the past or the land covenant has been broken even though you might not be aware of it. It will need to be revoked. Healing of the land is required.
List of some sins that cause us to be cursed: 1. If you or your ancestors have participated in idolatry, sorcery, occult, astrology, palmistry, horoscopes, wearing amulet, chanting mantras, animal or human sacrifices, telepathy, worship of false gods and goddesses, meditation, yoga, consulting psychic healers, witchcraft, mediums and spirit guides, worship of the deceased ancestors and saints, dedicating babies to Satan, covenanting with evil spirits, accepting food offered to idols, even innocently can bring a curse upon you. (Deuteronomy 18: 9-14; 20: 1-5; 32: 17-35)
6. If you have abstained from giving, therefore have stolen from the tithes and offerings to God, and then you are under God’s curse. (Zechariah 5: 3, 4; Malachi 3: 8-11)
9. If you own any ‘familiar object’, which is a symbol of worship of other gods, like statues, clothes, calendars, family heirlooms, trinkets rosaries etc., they are what the Bible calls ‘abominations’. They open doors for the evil spirits to get attached to them, which can affect your life adversely. (Deuteronomy 7: 25, 26)
2. Besides these, for dishonoring your parents. (Deuteronomy 20:12; Matthew 15: 9)
10. Even believers sometimes casually curse themselves or their family members and friends by the words they speak. If you say ‘I hate my nose or some other part of the body’, then you might be cursing yourself. A girl having her periods may say ‘I hate this monthly curse’, is cursing her womb, and can have problems later on. Constantly saying that your child has the devil in him will result in the devil getting into him.
Onion Peel Repentance: Just as an onion is peeled layer by layer, so every sin has to be to confessed, repented and revoked separately. If you hide some of your sins, then you will not be completely free from curses (1 John 1: 7-9) and your life will not be fruitful because then the devil can easily manipulate you. Therefore, keep praying that the Lord may remind you all the sins that have been committed. Repent for each sin separately and revoke it and then ask God to heal your memories of the past. (James 1: 22; 4: 17) Prayer: - O loving and merciful heavenly Father, You know everything in my heart and no sin of mine is hidden from You. I realize that without Jesus Christ, I cannot attain salvation. I had strayed from the true path, and so I repent with all my heart and confess my (name of the sin.........................)
Warning: Remember you have been redeemed from sin by the blood of Jesus Christ. Now with this newfound freedom you must help other people find release so that they can also become the children of God. The good news of salvation is not for keeping it to yourself but for sharing with others. (Galatians 3: 13-14, 26)
