The holidays are a time for celebrating family and friends, traditions, & making memories. I wanted to share a memory with you that I have of making cookies with my Grama Regina. I still make these same cookies with my children & grandchildren to this day. It’s more than stirring in sugar and flour, it’s mixing in love and joy. I’ve attached Grama Regina’s Crisco Cookie recipe. Make them with someone you love! I hope your holiday season is filled with love, memories, and many blessings. Grama Regina’s Crisco Cookies ½ c. butter ½ c. crisco 1 c. powdered sugar 2 c. flour 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg beaten ½ tsp. salt ½ tsp. baking soda ½ tsp. cream of tartar 2 tsp. almond extract Marachino cherries Cream together butter and Crisco. Spoon in powdered sugar and flour. Add beaten egg, salt, soda, tartar, vanilla and almond extract. Mix together. Chill for 1 hour. Drop by ½ teaspoonfuls (they’re tiny) on greased cookie sheet. Press a half cherry in the middle. Bake at 375 for 12 minutes.
