April Bulletin Editor’s Note Table of Contents Hey Everyone, Another month has passed! Sadly, we do not have too many upcoming events this month. Nonetheless, the ones we do have are still very fun, so make sure to attend as many as you can!!! On another note, the results of our board elections are finally finished! Although some of you may have heard some rumors, please remember that you should not believe everything you hear. So I am proud to present KEVIN HU as our future president of Key club ☺ Don’t forget to congratulate him when, if you have not already!

Upcoming Events MAGIC Tree Care

Save the Beat Benefit Concert

When: Saturday, 3/6

When: Sunday 3/7

Time: 10 am – 1 pm

Time: 6pm – 9pm

Where: Santa Clara University Mayer Theater 500 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA 95050

What: We plan to work from 10-1 removing invasive species, mulching, and/or doing other tree care work similar to the canopy events

What:

Come and support the Haiti Relief, Childrens' Hospital Oakland, and Pediatric Trauma Prevention while you also enjoy a concert with stars such as Gabe Bondoc, Supreme Soul, Jenny Suk, The Lost Kids, and Summer Breeze!

Why:

Not only is this entire event for a good cause, but you also get to enjoy a wonderful concert by many famous singers ☺

Why: this is a perfect opportunity to help your improve your environment!

Channing House

Second Saturday & Sunday Book Sale When: Saturday 3/13 & Sunday, 3/14 Time for Sat: 9:45 Am – 4:30 pm Time for Sun: 11 Am - 4:30 Pm Where: Cubberly Community Center 4000 Middlefield Rd, Palo Alto, CA 94303 What: You can help sell books to children at the Friends of the Library book sale! Why:

When: Saturday 3/20 Time: TBA Where: Channing House 850 Webster St, Palo Alto, CA 94301 What: Brighten up a senior's day! Visit the elderly at the Channing House. Why:

A perfect time to spend time with your seniors, who would greatly appreciate your company!

Not only can you hang with your fellow friends from key club while doing community service, you can also help little kids buy books ☺

Recap on Major Past Events

Canopy Tree Planting We planted trees at Nixon. Canopy brought the tools, we brought the spirit.

Second Saturday and Sunday Book Sale We operated as cashiers, organizing books, and helped out with other miscellaneous tasks at the monthly Friends of the Palo Alto Library book sale!

Stanford Dance Marathon This Marathon raised thousands for HIV/AIDS. We danced and helped with cleanup.

Hope for Haiti Bracelets People donated $1 to help earthquake victims in Haiti and received a red wristband with the words "Hope for Haiti" engraved. (Joint project by Key Club, ADR, and Paly for Haiti.)

Global Citizens Fair Students who have been exposed to diverse cultures, values, languages, and ways of life during their high school years discovered many benefits – from gaining new perspectives to standing out to college admissions officers to learning new languages to developing leadership skills and much more.

Jauna Run Morning @ Juana Briones. Or let's call it, "Juana Volunteer?" Helped with registration, tshirt distribution, and course monitoring

PAMP Preschool Fair Morning @ Cubberley. Helped preschool fair presenters and soon-to-be preschool parents!

Wetlands Restoration PA Baylands. Removed non-native plants and restored native plants. Pizza celebration afterwards!
