16th ANNUAL BAREFOOT ON THE BEACH ADS A SPLASH OF WITH THE ADDITION OF THE NEW AFTER PARTY
Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County
April 7, 2017, Nearly 400 guests celebrated the “unofficial close” to the Palm Beach social season as they turned out for the annual white party - Barefoot on the Beach at the Breakers Beach Club. The event has become a staple on the society calendar and this year was no exception with co-chairs Susan Miller and Holly Weston on point to present a memorable evening. As guests arrived they received a spirited welcome from members of the Max M. Fisher Boys & Girls Club who tossed out party beads to the guests as they passed through the receiving line. Further on, they were presented with the evening’s signature drink – “Frose” and mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres. Following a sumptuous buffet dinner, guests were wowed with a surprise performance from Club member Keiyon Ivory who moved the crowd with his rendition of How Sweet It Is to Be Loved by You. Founding chairs, Reid Boren and Tom Quick shared the live auction duties, resulting in one of the most successful live auctions in the events history. South Florida’s premier top 40 band, Wonderama provided the energy during dinner. Closing out the poolside festivities, a colorful Junkanoo Parade lead guests from the Beach Club to the Venetian Ballroom in time for the all new “After Party” featuring socialite DJ Mad Marg (Marjorie Gubelmann). The ballroom was transformed into a chic black light party complete with neon décor accents. “We are extremely grateful to all of our sponsors, donors and to our new co-chairs Susan Miller and Holly Weston. Their fresh new look for Barefoot was amazingly well received” said Reid Boren. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the overwhelming support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, I am beyond grateful” added Holly Weston. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County joins Reid in thanking Co-Chairs Miller and Weston as well as CoChairmen Kristen Cashel and Richard Gaff; Junior Chairmen Craig Gibson, Jr. and Brooke Murphy; and Honorary Chairmen Brooks Bishop, Lauren Borman Bohn, Taylor Collins, and Keith Williams. We are also thankful to Founding Chairs Reid Boren, Tom Quick and Wally Turner for their unwavering support of this event.
