Currently I am employed with Office of Public Works (OPW), as an Architectural Technologist (Part Time), in the Western Regional office Galway City. I have been project manager on many large scale upgrade projects, including the replacement flat roof of Michael Davitt House, Castlebar and Customs House, Galway City. Responsible for tender packages consisting of drawings, specification documents, scope of works and health & safety requirements, also daily site supervision of works and implementing correct health & safety to site workers and the general public. I am passionate about all aspects of architecture, health & safety and the construction Industry. Your company captured my attention because it is a busy, progressive and innovative multidisciplinary office and you deal specifically with areas that I am particularly interested in, including sustainable design, green architecture and passive house design. While working with Hayhurst & Co Architects, London I have acquired a sound understanding of the daily workings of a busy office environment, working on projects such as primary schools and residential from design stage, including drawing, specification writhing, contract administration, site inspections and sourcing of products. During the completion of my Degree in Architectural Technology I acquired a high level of competence with Revit Architecture and AutoCAD 2012. I have a strong knowledge of construction technology, current building regulations and how the construction industry operates. The Higher Diploma in Health & Safety has equipped me with the knowledge and awareness of construction health and safety and risk management from design to implementation, including the application of such regulations as Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005, General Applications Regulations 2007 and Construction Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (construction) Regulations 2006. Previously I have worked as a Tiler on many large scale projects such as apartment blocks, residential and shopping complexes.
