Shropshire U13 County Tournament
1st VII A disappointing season in terms of results but a most enjoyable one from a coaching perspective thanks to the super characters of the girls I had the pleasure to work with. They trained tirelessly to improve their skills and tactical set pieces and always tried their best. However, despite their determined efforts, successful conversion from attacking play eluded them and did not result in the goals needed to snatch the victories. I certainly appreciated the way the girls encouraged one another, true testament to the spirit of ‘The Willis Warriors!’, and my special thanks to Alice Hughes for her supportive captaincy throughout the season. Team: Alice Hughes* (Capt), Emily McParland*, Issy Morris, Amelia Farmer, Heath Rosselli, Georgie Nicholas*, Abi Anwyl *, Eliza Blackham, Poppy Stephens. LW * Denotes colours awarded
It was a promising season for the Lost 4 team with many good performances. Most of the matches were close apart from a resounding win against Adcote and fairly heavy defeats to Foremarke and Shrewsbury High. The team showed encouraging potential and many in the squad had the ability to play in more than one position, which gave us some flexibility. The captaincy was also shared amongst the senior girls. Overall, a sound netball term – well tried girls! Drawn

representing themselves and Packwood. They coped well with the frequent changes of position and approached each game with a determined and positive attitude, always willing to try their hardest and ‘give it their best shot’! They trained hard and had a great team spirit, even when things were going against them. I really enjoyed working with them and thank them for their efforts. Opportunities were few and far Lost 3 between for the girls to play competitively but when they did, they rose to the challenge and did a fine job

The girls learnt, sometimes the Lost 4 hard way, that perseverance pays off! There were good days and bad days with their shooting, but they always battled hard in the centre court with some exceptional interceptions and goals, even in the last few minutes of the game – I have never spent a season so on edge with so many games won in the last few seconds!
