Tamalpais Bioblitz The Marin Municipal Water District partners with the California Academy of Sciences to conduct a focused, citizen science survey that captures the biodiversity of plants in a defined area. These were replaced with native coastal live oaks (Quercus agrifolia) by California ReLeaf, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and enhancing California’s urban and community forests. When the young trees were planted, they were surrounded by sections of wire fence, to protect them from browsing deer, but have now outgrown them. Volunteers will use wire cutters to remove the fencing and weed pullers and prybars to remove the fence posts. Note the health of the tree and location coordinates for a research. 9am. Free.
