Ping Brum

Bats at the ready, Ping Brum is back! After an incredibly successful summer last year, Ping Brum is returning to our streets from July 4 to August 2, giving you the chance to try your hand at Ping Pong on one of the 65 tables dotted around the city. From galleries to parks, cinemas to train stations, if you see a sign that says ‘stop and play’, stop what you’re doing and indulge in a game of Ping Pong. All tables are free to use. Acorns Children’s Hospice is appealing for local ladies to be part of something special in Birmingham on Saturday September 15. The 10km female only walking event will start and finish in Victoria Square, with the beautifully lit backdrop of the Town Hall and Council House. The route will travel around Bullring, Jewellery Quarter, St Philip’s Cathedral and Brindleyplace as 1500 participants attempt to raise as much money as possible to help support the children of Acorns Hospice. To celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Colmore Business District is holding its very own Community Games event in Victoria Square on Friday July 20. Community Games provide a great opportunity to get the local community together to take part in sporting and cultural activities inspired by and in celebration of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Join CBD for a day of fun-filled activities provided by England Hockey, British Rowing and Ping! Table Tennis. The day starts at 10am and ends at 5pm with live music provided by reggae, blues, ska and rock band The Broombusters between 10am and 12pm.
