â–€ Here I present my interests in how architecture makes or defines place through cultural significance and site conditions that exist or have existed in the past influencing future landscapes of architecture. By using a variety of media, including textiles, wood, photography and sculpture, I hope to showcase and continue to develop an architectural perspective that is sensitive to the complexities of the human condition as it relates to built forms. urban ethnography Urban Ethnography is an academic project for a retail shop and hotel in the heart of Queen Street West of Toronto. The concept naturally evolved from the rich subcultures of this area and represents this dynamic energy through the interior and exterior of the building, utilizing complex textile inspire structures to connect to the street and channel the diversity of the pedestrian culture.

3rd place for Nathan Phillips Square Competition

The Canadian War Memorial was a project that emerged out of collaboration between London based firm All World Design, under the direction of Will Alsop and I, a local designer from Toronto. For this project I was able to execute more technical aspects of the design process such as drawings, model making and presentation panels.

organism of site Inhabit is the new facility for the Toronto Humane Society in Toronto. The new building takes a different approach to an animal care establishment by creating a strong foundation in the initial stages of the architecture that speaks to the complexities of human animal interaction and create a place where both people and animals that dwell in the site will be able to thrive and build a natural habitat in the downtown core of the city.

ritmo Ritmo is the design of an exciting new theatre space situated in Lota, Chile, a city that has been struck by consecutive earthquakes and looking to invest in their tourism market to bring back life to the city centre. This project was initiated by the Institute Without Boundaries and created with a group of six designers. The interior rendering, elevations and inspirational imagery were aspects that I consulted on but did not execute, the rest I was involve with on a creative and production level.

kinoko Kinoko is an installation for Toronto’s Nuit Blanche. Here is the featured artist statement by Casey Wong, “At once icon and ideological platform, teahouses are to Japanese architects what chairs are to Western architects. To create an opportunity for me to explore my passion for tea culture, teahouse design, and algorithmic architecture, I am building a tea house in the basement of 401 Richmond for this year’s Nuit Blanche.” As my contribution the project, I created a green wall using crocheted to generate organic forms that would take better shape to the inherent structures of the plants.
