Vitalia Gives Back! Vitalia clubs and residents are always finding ways to give back to their community and below are just two of the many examples!

Veterans Club & Car Club Fundraiser

Leslie Boehlert Lifestyles Director lboehlert@ 772-800-2505

On February 11th, the Veterans Club and the Car Club had their first joint event. They successfully collected $3,000 for the Renewal Coalition in Jupiter, FL. The Renewal Coalition is a non-profit whose sole mission is to assist wounded service members and their families in their transition from military to civilian life or back to active duty by offering a retreat at Florida residences with the intent of providing military families a relaxed, pleasant, and welcoming environment. The retreats provide an opportunity for wounded warriors and their families to enjoy time together without the unrelenting issues caused by the warrior’s visible and invisible injuries. To learn more about this wonderful organization, please visit www.

Preschool for a Valentine’s book reading and art activity with the VPK rooms. Club Pure was very excited about the book donation and sent in the below message to share with the community (check out the pictures below of the sweet children reading the books too). Dear Friends of Vitalia, Once again, we are so overwhelmed with the donations of books and class materials you have supplied for us. Thank you for your amazing support of our literacy program throughout our school. We appreciate all the new reading material to further support our classrooms. I would also like to thank you for coming to our VPK classes with the Valentine’s Day craft and book. Our children and the teachers enjoyed you coming and volunteering your time with our students. We appreciate your time spent to raise the funds to provide fantastic literacy materials for our school and programs to come. Sincerely, Shavon J. Deleon Director of Club Pure Preschool

Have a Heart for Literacy Book Drive In January and February, Vitalia residents and the Lifestyles team hosted the Have a Heart for Literary Book Drive to celebrate young children in Port St. Lucie for Valentine’s Day. A tree with lights was set up in the Captiva Club lobby. The tree had small pictures of books for young children. Residents who stopped by the clubhouse were asked to take one of the hanging ornaments and then purchase that book for the literacy drive. More than 50 wonderful books were given, which we then brought to Club Pure April 2018 | Vitalia Voice   3

Rummikub Club Tuesdays | 7pm-10pm | Biscayne Room

All are invited to join us for lively games, even new players; no RSVP is needed. If you have a game set, please bring it. An easy game to learn, Rummikub is played with tiles, but is similar to the card game Rummy. It’s fun and different every time it’s played; combining luck and strategy, it changes quickly so every player has a chance to win until the very end. The object is to be the first to play every tile on your rack. It’s a great game to bring people together, with plenty of opportunities for talking, chatting, and competition if desired.
