Golding Contractors joint venture Wild Cat Developments and Golding Contractors, a long established major civil works contractor based in Queensland, began discussions in late 2013 with regards to bidding for contracts under a joint venture arrangement. The JV has bid and continues to bid for projects throughout PNG of a value of generally more than K50 million. In December, 2014 they were awarded the K84.5 million BRIRAP Package 2 ADBfunded project to construct 12 new bridges on the New Britain Highway in West New Britain. WCD and Golding bring significant assets to the JV arrangement with the former’s long history in PNG and extensive local knowledge and access to prime labour resources in the country. Golding has mature and professional project management systems, particularly in the financial management area, and personnel with strong major project contractual knowhow. The JV team works together well and a strong partnership has been formed between the two companies.
