Weston Art Guild Exhibit Expresses Imagination BY STACEY BOMSER

T

he Weston Art Guild’s newest exhibition, Images of Imagination, opens this month in the Coral Springs Museum of Art lobby gallery. The community is invited to attend an artist reception on April 25th, from 6-7:30pm, to meet the artists and view the exceptional artwork. Weston Art Guild President Lynda Sauls says for this show members were given artistic license to use their imagination however they wish. “We encouraged them to push their styles and take new approaches to their usual styles and mediums.” According to Sauls, the exhibition will feature traditional mediums such as watercolors, oils, acrylics and photography. “Styles to be exhibited will be realistic, geometric, abstract, surreal and impressionistic.” Images of Imagination will feature the work of at least 25 Weston Art Guild members. Sauls says she expects about “Deep Down” by Lifrancis Rojas, from 60 pieces of artwork to be on display. the “Lost Memories” series. The Coral Springs Museum of Art is a favorite venue for members of the Weston Art Guild. “We like to exhibit there because it broadens our audience and allows us to have great exposure and influence on the local community,” notes Sauls. While this will be the last exhibition of the season for the Weston Art Guild,

plans are already in the works for an exhibit at Broward College’s Bailey Hall in October, and then the Guild’s annual Juried Art Show at the Weston Branch Library in November. In addition, the Weston Art Guild has a Pop-Up Gallery in Sunrise, outside Sawgrass Mills Mall. It’s an opportunity for the community to view artwork, see professional artists at work, as well as take classes in various artistic styles taught by Guild members. “We are excited because ACE Educational Supplies is helping promote our classes and workshops, plus offering special pricing for the supplies needed to participate in those programs,” states Sauls. “It is a great opportunity for both of us as we work together to support the arts in our community.” The Weston Art Guild’s Images of Imagination exhibition runs April 9th through May 6th at the “Pixel in Movement” by Magdaly Montenegro Coral Springs Museum of Art, 2855 Coral Springs Drive.
