Aventura Arts & Cultural Center presents the children’s classic staged by Theatreworks USA on at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Based on E.B. White’s heartwarming children’s book, Charlotte’s Web tells the story of a pig named Wilbur and a little barn spider named Charlotte. This treasured tale, featuring madcap and endearing farm animals, explores bravery, selfless love and the true meaning of friendship. Each show in the series includes free pre-show face painting and arts activities along with a complimentary post-show sweet treat from Hoffman’s Chocolates. Tickets are $16 for individuals ($18 the day of the show) with $3 lap seats for infants 12 months or younger. Yoga in the Park – The City of Aventura will be offering free yoga classes from 9:00am-10:00am at Founders Park on Fridays (January 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th.) Yoga mats will be provided if necessary, but students may bring their own mat, a small towel and water for convenience. Registration is not required, and classes are open to all. Residents are encouraged to obtain a park ID prior to attending class in order to expedite access to the park. Nonresidents will be required to pay the park entrance fee ($5 per adult and $3 per child under the age of 18, if they are accompanied by an adult) upon arrival to Founders Park. All first-time visitors will be required to fill out a waiver of liability upon entering the park for class. Founders Park is located at 3105 NE 190 Street. Trips & Tours for Active Adults – Accompany a group of like-minded senior citizens on a day trip to the Dania Beach Casino from 10:00 am-3:00 pm. Tours typically include round-trip fare aboard a comfortable coach bus, entrance and/or show fees, and the services of a seasoned tour leader. Tours are generally affordable, giving participants the opportunity to cut costs with savings opportunities, including group and early-booking discounts. 20th Youth Basketball Clinics – The clinics and skills ratings introduce the sport and assess players’ skill levels. The City encourages all players to attend the clinics and skills ratings to help maintain equality between teams and ensure integrity of the league. During the skills ratings, one half of the court will be used for skill demonstrations and the remaining space will be used by staff to organize players into groups. Staff will give each group instructions to perform drills. 10:00 am at the Community Recreation Center.
