Little Henry Huck made his arrival in August 2016, and his cheeks and smile just keep getting bigger every day! Henry’s parents, Daniel and Dr. Kimberly Huck, met in 2011 at Life University in Marietta where Kimberly was pursuing her Doctorate of Chiropractic and Daniel was pursuing his Masters in Sport Health Science. After their June 2014 wedding and June 2015 graduations, they opened a brand new business called American Row House, an indoor rowing fitness studio in the Marietta Square. Life as business owners and now a family of 3 has proven to be full of challenges and excitement, but Daniel and Dr. Kimberly are loving every minute of it and can’t think of any other city they’d rather be in. Marietta has provided the perfect mix of a big city with a small town feel. Having a business on the Square has been so much fun with farmer’s markets, races, chalk and food festivals, and so many other events! Life in Marietta never gets boring!

My freshman year of college I endured one of those classes that is designed to make every student re-think their desire to get a college degree…Macro-Economics 101. To this day I retain that course book and keep it by my bed in case I ever suffer from insomnia because two pages of Gross Domestic Product Quantification and Assessment will induce sleep upon anything. Warning, Macro Economics may impair your ability to operate a moving vehicle. Failure to pass this class meant a life repeating the phrase, “You want fries with that?” So I was sweating howitzer-sized bullets when the grades were posted after our final, which I was certain I had bombed. And yet, as I found my name on the page, I reeled onto my heels when I read, “Orler M., 83.” “A ‘B’, How?” I said out loud while standing in rapt amazement. “Oh, the final was graded on a curve,” said the graduate student stapling the grades on the corkboard.

“Curve?” I stammered.

What’s a curve?”

That is when I learned about one of life’s greatest gimmies, where you are not judged along a static line of true performance, but rather on how well you stacked up amongst just the folks who bothered to show up in class that day. So my “D” became a “B” because nobody scored higher than a “C” on that test. Manna from test heaven.

n

n

I say all this because I had one of those “parent” moments a few weeks ago when one of my more lucent children asked that question all parents eventually get. “Daddy, do you love all of us the same?” Every parent’s initial response is automatically, “Of course.”

But let’s be honest, I think every parent tends to love on a “curve” a great deal of the time. There are certainly moments when one child will elevate themselves, or worse, demote themselves in our sight and thereby affect the emotional tide toward all the others. “You MEAN the curtains that we have told you a hundred times NOT to hang on?” “Yes,” sheepishly. “Well, go congratulate your brother and sisters because they all just got straight ‘A’s’ this week thanks to you!” The good news is that to a home-schooled 4-year-old the concept of delivering straight “A’s” to his siblings through his poor life-choices didn’t scar him nearly as much as the falling curtain rod did, but it felt good just offering it up to the universe by his Dad. Now I realize that many who read this will gasp in the horror that a parent would dare to say that they don’t love their children evenly all the time like a thermostat set at a constant 72 degrees of love; doling out just enough to keep you at 72, but never 73 and possibly a few 71’s thrown in if we are honest. And to those I would simply congratulate them on having just the one kid.

Which Of These Neuropathy Symptoms Do You Suffer From? If You Suffer From A Single One Of These Torturous Symptoms – Numbness, Tingling, Or Sharp Nerve Pain – THEN THE FACTS BELOW MAY BE THE MOST IMPORTANT YOU HAVE EVER READ IN YOUR LIFE! Neuropathy affects every part of your life -- walking, sitting, and even sleeping. Maybe you've had multiple tests, only to find out no one has any idea what you have. Maybe you've even been put on a drug with heavy side effects. Do you have any of the following symptoms... • Pins and needles feeling • Numbness in the hands or feet • Tingling or burning sensations • Weakness in the arms or legs • Sharp shooting or burning pains If so you may have a condition called peripheral neuropathy. My name is Dr. Amy Valente, and I've been helping people with neuropathy and nerve problems for years. More than 20 million Americans suffer from peripheral neuropathy, a problem caused by damage to the nerves that supply your arms and legs. This painful condition interferes with your body's ability to transmit messages to your muscles, skin, joints, or internal organs. If ignored or mistreated, neuropathy can lead to irreversible health conditions. Why not get help by those trained to correct the major cause of peripheral neuropathy? Data from the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners' Job Analysis of Chiropractic lists arm and leg neuropathy as the second most common nerve problem treated by chiropractors. Often neuropathy is caused by a degenerating spine pressing on the nerve roots. This can happen in any of the vertebral joints from the neck all the way down to the tail bone.

The Single Most Important Solution To Your Neuropathy By using gentle techniques, I'm able to release the pressure that has built up on the nerve. This allows the nerve to heal and the symptoms to go away.

Listen to what some of our patients have to say about it:

“I came into NCS&N with extreme leg pain that caused a lack of sleep and decrease in activity. Now that I have been getting care I have a lot less pain and I am able to be more active. What amazed me the most is that I don’t have to take any medication and I feel that my nerves have healed a lot!” Thank you, Billy Johnston

“I originally came into the office seeking relief for symptoms of Diabetic Neuropathy. Since receiving treatments I have less pain, tingling and numbness in my legs and feet. I can walk longer, farther and my mobility has really improved! The doctors and staff here are very friendly and I am thankful for their concern of my wellbeing.” Thanks, Theresa Oglesby

Letters from Abroad by Kelly Dean In Louisiana, they have Mardi Gras, and in Europe, they have Carnival. Or as my husband calls it, the “real Halloween”. In Spain, Carnival is celebrated with parades, music, and costumes. The biggest celebrations in Spain are in the Canary Islands and the southern coastal town of Cádiz.

- Aristotle HABITS

Besides being one of the ports where Christopher Columbus sailed off for the new world, Cádiz was the first Spanish city that really captured my heart. In 2008, I spent a summer studying abroad in Cádiz with The University of Georgia. Cádiz is a quintessential Andalusian town right by the sea. I might be biased, but it could also be one of the cutest towns in Europe. Palm tree-lined parks and plazas are hidden away in a maze of narrow streets. My classmates and I spent 8 idyllic weeks playing soccer with locals and eating ice cream by the beach…. and studying our Spanish linguistics classes of course. So when I was working in Madrid several years later, I didn’t hesitate to convince my American friends to take a trip to Cádiz for Carnival. We eagerly started searching trains and hotels and as it turns out, our bright idea must have been everyone’s bright idea. There were no rooms in Cádiz, so we had to settle for a dinky hotel in Chiclana de la Frontera, some 30 minutes outside. Our plan was to take the regional bus in and out of the city. It’s typical for groups of friends to all dress up for Carnival, so we bought pirate costumes in the dollar store and jumped on the train to Seville. We spent the day sightseeing in Seville and took the bus to Chiclana de la Frontera. The next morning, we bused into the busy Cádiz to join the hordes of costumed merrymakers. We watched the passing groups of “chirigotas”, musical performers who sing witty songs, often of political or pop culture satire. Taking a cue from the Spaniards, we bought our own bottles of wine to mix with Lemon Fanta. (Yes, that is a thing in Spain. No, they don’t have open container laws.) Everything was going really well. We had met up with some other friends who were staying in Cádiz. We were watching the night concert when we realized how late it was. We had lost track of time and missed the last bus back to Chiclana de la Frontera. With no other options, we crashed in with our friends in their hostel in the city, sleeping on a bed of pillows on the floor. Their hostel was a large shared dormitory, and guests coming in and out were constantly awakening us. In order to catch our train back to Madrid, we had to first take the bus back to Chiclana de la Frontera, and then another bus to Seville. At dawn, we took off from the hostel, sprinting down the streets to the bus station. We passed plenty of others who also hadn’t made it back to their hotel that night- opting to sleep on benches instead. As we rode the train back to Madrid, we finally got some rest. Looking back on it now, it’s pretty amazing the things you will do when you’re young and abroad and don’t want to miss an “experience”. Kelly Dean is a Marietta native and former Miss MHS. Kelly lives in northern England with her Spanish husband. Her travels through Europe have taken her as far as Turkey and Morocco, with many mishaps and laughs along the way. Currently, she is working in the International Student Recruitment Office at Lancaster University.

STYLE REPORT

Introducing 2017’s Color of the Year: by Tara Hill

Greenery!

What is this you may ask? Who decided this and why do I care? WELL LET ME TELL YOU. Since the year 2000, the Pantone Color Institute, which calls itself the “global color authority”, has named a color of the year. They feel that color “has always been an integral part of how a culture expresses the attitudes and emotions of the times. This is what I found very interesting. They don’t just make this decision all “ Willie Nillie”. The Pantone Color Institute takes the “color of the year” very seriously by hosting a secret meeting with representatives from all nations and top designers from all fields- technology, fashion, automotive.. etc. to make this decision. By looking at it psychologically, they realize that color really does affect our moods. Greenery is a yellow-green shade that looks like spring! They call it nature’s natural. It was named specifically for 2017 as the crew at Pantone observed the global culture as stressful and tense...can you believe that? Stressful and tense- Us? ABSOLUTELY! Greenery is the color of hopefulness...regeneration, refreshment, revitalization and renewal. Sounds great, doesn’t it? I bet you thought trends and colors were created because someone thought they looked cute. I bet you are also thinking, “I can’t pull off a yellow-green outfit- I’d look crazy...” I totally agree that this might be a lot. But here is my advice: Don’t blow it off, give it a try! You don’t have to jump right in with both feet, dip a toe in first. Listen, you don’t even have to try it on yourself to be “in fashion”. Consider using Greenery in your home décor- just to warm up to the hue. If you do decide that you like it, then consider adding it into your wardrobe as an accessory. A scarf, a bag or a piece of jewelry (peridot, jade or tsavorite garnet) would be a great way to incorporate this trend into your collection and a inexpensive way to show your style. It’s clearly too expensive to buy new outfits and accessories every time a trend is announced, but wearing a fresh pop of color is always a fun mood booster. And as an added bonus, you can tell everyone that you are wearing “the new color of the year”. Sounds pretty fancy, doesn’t it? I also thought it was amusing to save Greenery for March, as it also represents the color of St. Patrick’s Day. What could be wrong with adding a touch of color that could also add a touch of luck? Remember, trends come and go, but your style is what makes you feel good. Fashion should not be taken too seriously, but you can definitely have fun with it! Perhaps you’d rather go all in by trying a full “GREENERY” ensemble...maybe? Maybe not? Like my Granny always says, “If you can wash it off, take it off or grow it out-who cares? You’ve got to live!” Good advice, right? As they say, you can’t sweat the small stuff!

Enjoy March my friends. Spring is on its way! Get up, dress up, show up and NEVER EVER give up!

10 Reasons to Support Your Local Farmers Markets From savoring produce at the peak of freshness to meeting the people who grow your food, there are countless reasons to support farmers markets. Here are just a few!

1. Taste Real Flavors

The fruits and vegetables you buy at the farmers market are the freshest and tastiest available. Fruits are allowed to ripen fully in the field and are brought directly to you—no long-distance shipping, no gassing to simulate the ripening process, no sitting for weeks in storage. This food is as real as it gets—fresh from the farm.

2. Enjoy the Season

The food you buy at the farmers market is seasonal. It is fresh and delicious and reflects the truest flavors. Shopping and cooking from the farmers market helps you to reconnect with the cycles of nature. As you look forward to asparagus in spring, savor sweet corn in summer, or bake pumpkins in autumn, you reconnect with the earth, the weather, and the turning of the year.

3. Support Family Farmers

Family farmers need your support, now that large agribusiness dominates food production in the U.S. Small family farms have a hard time competing in the food marketplace. Buying directly from farmers gives them a better return for their produce and gives them a fighting chance in today’s globalized economy.

4. Protect the Environment

Food in the U.S. travels an average of 1,500 miles to get to your plate. All this shipping uses large amounts of natural resources (especially fossil fuels), contributes to pollution, and creates trash with extra packaging. Conventional agriculture also uses many more resources than sustainable agriculture and pollutes water, land, and air with toxic agricultural by-products. Food at the farmers market is transported shorter distances and is generally grown using methods that minimize the impact on the earth.

5. Nourish Yourself

Much food found in grocery stores is highly processed and grown using pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, and genetic modification. Some of it has been

PAGE 14

irradiated, waxed, or gassed in transit. These practices may have negative effects on human health. In contrast, most food found at the farmers market is minimally processed, and many of our farmers go to great lengths to grow the most nutritious produce possible by using sustainable techniques, picking produce right before the market, and growing heirloom varieties.

6. Discover the Spice of Life: Variety

At a farmers market you find an amazing array of produce that you don’t see in your average supermarket: red carrots, a rainbow of heirloom tomatoes, purple cauliflower, green garlic, and much, much more. It is a wonderful opportunity to savor the biodiversity of our planet.

At a farmers market, you can find meats, cheeses, and eggs from animals that have been raised without hormones or antibiotics, who have grazed on green grass and eaten natural diets, and who have been spared the cramped and unnatural living conditions of feedlots and cages that are typical of animal agriculture. A regular trip to a farmers market is one of the best ways to connect with where your food comes from. Meeting and talking to farmers and food artisans is a great opportunity to learn more about how and where food is produced.

9. Learn Cooking Tips, Recipes, and Meal Ideas

Few grocery store cashiers or produce stockers will give you tips on how to cook the ingredients you buy, but farmers, ranchers, and artisans at the farmers market are often passionate cooks with plenty of free advice about how to cook the foods they are selling.

10. Connect wi th Your Communi ty

Wouldn’t you rather stroll amidst outdoor stalls of fresh produce on a sunny day than roll your cart around a grocery store with artificial lights and piped in music? Going to a farmers market makes shopping a pleasure rather than a chore. The farmers market is a community hub—a place to meet up with your friends, bring your children, or just get a taste of small-town life in the midst of our wonderful big city.

Gradually whisk in 1 cup reserved juices. Stir in sugar, vinegar and horseradish; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook and stir until thickened. If desired, thin with additional juices. Season to taste with additional sugar, vinegar or horseradish. Mustard Sauce: Mix all ingredients. Yield: 10 servings.

The Viora Reaction

We provide thoughtful, modern dental care. Call for an appointment today. Emergency appointments available.

Would you like to get rid of unwanted cellulite, loose skin, stretch marks, or minimize wrinkles? The Viora Reaction is your answer! With the use of radio frequency, the Viora heats the skin, even to the deep layers, to decrease fat volume and improve skin texture. The Viora can tighten skin after major weight loss or pregnancy, contour hard to lose areas of fat, and minimize the appearance of stretch marks and wrinkles.

ANATOMY 101 Cellulite is a term for normal fat beneath the skin that has a dimpled appearance due to bands of connective tissue. Cellulite is more common in women than men, and it usually occurs in the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, and under arms. Poor blood circulation and poor lymphatic drainage contribute to cellulite. The Viora helps improve blood flow and lymphatic drainage in the skin.

New Patient Special

Collagen and elastin are proteins that give our skin its structure. As we age, the total amount of collagen in the skin decreases and there is an increase in collagen cross-links. These processes lead to wrinkled skin. The Viora uses radio frequency to promote the production of collagen and elastin, in turn tightening sagging skin

$

and decreasing the appearance of wrinkles.

Cleaning, Exam & Digital X-rays*

HOW THE VIORA REACTION WORKS The Viora uses high levels of radio frequency to deliver heat deep into the layer of fat under the skin, the hypodermis. The Viora shrinks fat volume by increasing oxygen delivery to the skin, thus increasing cell metabolism. The Viora also works to improve skin elasticity and texture by breaking rigid collagen cross-links. By stimulating collagen and elastin production with the Viora, loose skin is tightened and wrinkles disappear. The Viora is a great alternative to surgery with no risk of infection and blood clots, no down time, and no expensive anesthesia.

VIORA PROTOCOL At Kayal Dermatology & Skin Cancer Specialists, we use Viora radio frequency to treat stubborn neck fullness, jowls, loose arm skin, abdomen, and legs. It typically takes 7-9 treatments. There is minimal discomfort and no downtime.

To learn more about the Viora Reaction, contact Kayal Dermatology & Skin Cancer Specialists for an appointment at 770-426-7177 or email kayalesthetics@gmail.com.

ADDING THE FINISHING TOUCH: INTERIOR MOLDING AND TRIM by Allison Gunkel

Finishing touches are how ordinary things become remarkable masterpieces. In home design, intricate details like trim and molding can make all the difference in the overall look and feel of your personal paradise. Once upon a time, molding was an installation nightmare that overwhelmed the most ambitious designers. Materials were heavy, difficult to manage, and needed to be primed, painted, cut and positioned – certainly not a task for the average homeowner to undertake. Today’s materials eliminate some of those challenges, making molding and trim installation a wonderful do-it-yourself task that is not terribly time consuming. But before you burst out the caulk gun and your hammer, you will need some prep time. Molding and trim is both decorative and functional. Once installed, the details are eye appealing and add significantly to your décor. Moldings are available in several materials that vary based on finish and price: • Hardwood – meant to be stained or left with a natural finish; expensive • Pine or Fir – typically paint grade; less expensive • Polyurethane foam – can be painted or stained to resemble wood; most inexpensive and manageable Each of these materials comes in a variety of styles. Prefinished options come ready to install without need for painting or staining. There is also minimal touch up necessary when installed correctly. There may be a limited selection at your local hardware vendor, so take your time researching all your options. Contact stores or manufacturers about catalogs with available styles and suggestions based on home design. After choosing the trim style you like best, it is time to decide where exactly your interior trim will be placed. Though the pieces themselves are often the same style and material, the proper term for a kind of trim is designated by placement: • Cornice – Also referred to as crown molding. This trim runs where the walls meet the ceiling. Crown molding gives a lovely, finished look to any room whether formal or functional. • Chair Rail – Chair rail is typically a wooden molding that runs the height of a chair back (average 32 inches). It is a beautiful way to protect your walls from scuffs and bumps brought on by furniture, and can also be used as a baseboard or other decorative molding. • Wainscoting – This is paneling applied to the lower portion of a wall. Running between 36 to 54 inches in height, wainscoting is often topped with a chair rail and is great for adding a decorative element to walls while protecting them from scuffs and furniture bumps. Wainscoting is easy to clean and extremely useful in active homes with pets or children.

• Baseboard – The baseboards of a home run between 3 to 12 inches high where the lowest part of the wall meets the floor, hiding the uneven edges of flooring. Even when wainscoting is not used, the baseboard helps protect the walls from scuffs and bumps. Often simple and practical, baseboard trends are turning toward more elaborate designs encompassing a room’s decor. • Door and Window Casing – The trim around a door or window is known as the casing, with the inside pieces being referred to as the jambs. There are as many options for casings as any other molding, ensuring a seamless design throughout a room. After considering the trim you like best and it’s placement, take a few purchase preparation steps. These will be beneficial whether installing molding yourself or hiring a professional. First, have a floor plan of each room or area in which you intend to install trim. Measure each wall and record the measurements onto the floor plan. Then measure a second time; this is very important, as cutting the molding with incorrect measurements will increase your budget and your time commitment. After gathering the total length of the measurements, add an extra 10% to account for any mistakes that may crop up. Even if you are having a professional install your trim, have your own measurements prepared. When looking for contractors, it will be beneficial to give them a precise idea of the job ahead so they are certain to give you an accurate estimate on both time and labor cost. Do not forget to ask for references to certify quality workmanship. With the right style and installation, your dream home will receive an instant upgrade by simply adding the molding and trim of your choice.

Five Habits to Get you in Shape Quickly

by Krista Striker 1. Don’t be afraid to push yourself.

If you want to get the most out of your workout, the key is to focus on intensity. Doing quick, focused, High Intensity Interval style workouts will help you get in shape faster than slow, moderate ones will. If your goal is maximum efficiency (aka fastest possible results), you should be sweaty and exhausted by the end of your workout — or you’re not working hard enough.

STATE-OF-THE-ART CARE. CONVENIENT LOCATIONS.

2. Focus on full-body exercises. Including full-body exercises like squats, burpees, push ups and triceps dips in your workouts will help you get fit in less time than simply focusing on isolation muscle exercises (think biceps curls and calf raises) will. Full-body exercises are more functional, and will help you more in real-life situations (like lifting a suitcase over your head in an airplane or playing with your kids at the playground).

3. Do plenty of plyos.

If you ever played sports growing up, you’ll probably remember practice being full of plyometrics: exercises like long jumps, tuck jumps, jump lunges, sprints and more. Plyos are great because not only will they help you get conditioned for whatever sports you enjoy in your free time, they’ll help you burn fat and lose weight, as well, and are a great habit to build into your workouts.

4. Set (athletic) goals.

Even if your ultimate goal is to lose weight, it’s much more motivating and satisfying in the long run to work toward an athletic or fitness goal of some kind. By making your work out a habit and creating fun and challenging fitness goals, you will succeed in making your health and fitness a priority for life.

Spring is Springing!!! by Amber Burckhalter Spring is around the corner and we are thrilled! Fresh air, blooming trees and flowers, as well as perfect outdoor weather, make us and our canine friends very happy. For all that is wonderful about springtime, it is also very busy and potentially very dangerous for your beloved pups! As a helpful reminder, we have included a list of some common springtime hazards and precautionary steps to take to keep your furry friends safe this spring. 1600 Kennesaw Due West Rd., NW #507 • Kennesaw, GA 30152

770-419-0362 • Fax 770-419-8891 • kennesawvet.com

1. Spring often means having friends and family over for cook-outs before the oppressive heat of summer sets in. Human Food is often poisonous to pets and you should really employ the old “Why even risk it?” attitude. Common foods are poisonous to pups include: Alcohol, Avocados, Chocolate, Coffee, Cooked Bones, Garlic, Grapes and Raisins, Macadamia Nuts, and Onions. 2. Cleaning Supplies are in high demand during the spring. Make sure to keep cleaners and solvents safely out of the reach of dogs (and small humans too, of course). And mop up any spills before a curious puppy puts their inquiring nose in it! 3. During spring cleaning, many of us will clean up the medicine cabinets and discard expired medications. Human Medications, such as pain killers, cold medicines, anti-cancer drugs, anti-depressants, vitamins and diet pills can all be extremely toxic to animals. Keep all medicine containers away from pets who could chew through them and be vigilant about finding and disposing of any dropped pills.

20% OFF DENTAL CLEANINGS THROUGHOUT MARCH FOR DENTAL HEALTH MONTH

4. Winter was mild and, as a result, insects are supposed to be very bad this year! Insect Control Products including those in over-the-counter flea and tick remedies, can be toxic. Most professional pest control companies have pet-safe alternatives, but you must ask. Also, prescription flea and tick control products can be much less toxic than over-the-counter remedies. Pet owners should never use any product around pets without first reading the warnings and consulting your veterinarian.

To learn more about our team & services, visit us online at kennesawvet.com

5. Getting the yard and gardens ready for summer often means a flurry of landscaping activities. Landscaping Products such as colored mulch, mulch made from recycled rubber, chemicals used on lawns and gardens, such as fertilizer and plant food, etc… can be deadly if ingested. Make sure to read the labels, look for safe alternatives and always follow the manufacturer direction in terms of storage and post-application contact with pets.

Property Taxes

6. Laundry Items such as detergents and fabric softener sheets may have ulcerous and even fatal consequences for your dog. Highly concentrated laundry detergent packets are even more dangerous. Make sure to keep these out of reach for your inquisitive puppy.

Tax Bill vs Tax Assessment vs FMV

by Gillen Joachim - GANEK WRIGHT MINSK PC www.titlelaw.com

7. If you are like me, you plant flowers both in and outside during springtime. Poisonous Household Plants include Autumn Crocus, Azalea, Cyclamen, Kalanchoe, Lilies, Oleander, Dieffenbachia, Daffodils, Lily of the Valley, Sago Palm, Tulips, and Hyacinths among others. If you have a question about a specific plant, ask your veterinarian.

Benjamin Franklin is quoted as saying, “Nothing is certain except for death and taxes.” In a previous article, I handled how dead people can affect property ownership and sales. Now it seems timely to handle the other of life’s certainties as it pertains to real property.

8. Traps and Poisons must be treated with extreme caution. Just remind yourself of why they exist! Even if you do not use traps and poisons, remember that your neighbors might. Dogs and cats can be poisoned if they eat a rodent who has been killed by poison (called secondary poisoning).

Property taxes can seem a bit complicated in Georgia. The following tips will help to at least set the foundation of how and when they are billed and to explain what some of the terminology means.

9. Spring is also an ideal time to inspect and replace worn out Dog Gear & Toys. Collars and leashes wear out and can break when Fido pulls on that afternoon walk! Stuffed toys and beds get holes and, let’s face it, eating white polyfill stuffing is irresistible! Rubber toys such as Kongs, tennis balls, etc... can degrade and break apart over time. So, make sure to inspect and replace.

Under Georgia law, real property is assessed based on the value of the property from a sale (other than a forced sale) of that property. County Assessors are required to determine the Fair Market Value of properties each year and to file a report called a return of those values between January 1 and April 1. Shortly after the return is filed, the county sends out an assessment to the owner of record as of January 1 of that year. The assessed value of a property is 40% of the fair market value (FMV.) When tax bills are sent out, they include the FMV, the assessed value, and the millage rates for a number of taxes. The tax bill, of course, also includes the total property tax due. Most tax bills are sent out in the late summer or early fall months, and usually around 60 days before they are due. In nearly all counties, tax bills are due before December 20th (with some as early as October.)

Enjoy the beautiful weather and be sure to take a little time to make sure everyone is ready to have fun! Solution:
