ABOUT US The O rganization of Social Studies Teachers in the Philippines, Inc. (O SSTP) is a non-profit, non-stock corporation comprised of Social Studies Educators throughout the Philippines. OSSTP was formed as an offshoot of a conference organized by the Social studies Education (EDSSE) Area of the UP College of Education on April 17, 2015. This conference was aimed to gather together Social Studies teachers from public and private elementary and secondary schools and provide a venue for professional development where ideas, practices, and present developments in Social Studies teaching and learning are shared. OSSTP was subsequently registered in the Securities and Exchange Commission on August 13, 2015 with an initial membership of 40. Two faculty members (MA and PhD level) from the EDSSE Area of the College became the Board members and officers of the organization. As of 2016, there were 178 members from different public and private schools in Metro Manila and nearby provinces of Luzon, including a few from Visayas and Mindanao.
