BOCCE TOURNAMENT by Dorothy Berlandi
The Annual Memorial Mass was held at the Madonna Queen National Shrine in East Boston on Sunday, November 7, 2009. This Mass is dedicated to all our departed brothers and sisters for their unselfish and devoted service to the Order Sons of Italy in America. Many of our brothers and sisters traveled from Pittsfield, Lee, North Adams, New Hampshire, Worcester and surrounding towns to worship at this special Mass. The weather was perfect for just such an occasion and were welcomed by our State President James DiStefano. The Mass commenced with
a Procession by the Chairman, Benefit Insurance Officers, Grand Lodge Officers and State President James DiStefano and Mrs. Kathy DiStefano, who were directed to their pews by the members of the Wilmington Junior Lodge who served as Ushers. The Altar Servers Justin Crisafulli and Guido DiVecchia followed with State Chaplain Reverend Gregory Mercurio. The music was provided by Mary Ann Bello and Donna Giuliani. The Eucharistic Ministers were Delia Bartucca and Denise Furnari. (Continued on Page 5)
