The Commission for Social Justice of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, Order Sons of Italy in America held its 26th Annual Law and Justice Day Breakfast on Sunday morning, May 3, 2009, at Lombardo’s in Randolph. Anthony R. Pelusi, Jr., Esq., introduced the head table guests, and the Middlesex Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard

under the direction of James V. DiPaola, Sheriff of Middlesex County, posted the colors. Todd Angilly of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Probation Department sang the National Anthems of Italy and America. Reverend Gregory Mercurio, State Chaplain, gave his very uplifting invocation. At this time breakfast was served. This breakfast had a special theme:

“Italian”. The Chairman and his committee could not have selected a more appetizing and filling breakfast. It consisted of fruit, a “mile high” egg, cheese, and vegetable quiche; sausage, bacon, stuffed tomato with a pesto and cheese filling, polenta, breakfast rolls, muffins, tea, coffee and juice. There was also a selection of either cappuccino or espresso available

for the coffee lovers. The Toastmaster for the morning was the Commission of Social Justice Chairman, Robert “Ted” Tomasone, who welcomed all to the breakfast and then called upon State President Florence Ferullo Kane for her greetings. She congratulated all the recipients and underlined the importance of the Social Justice Commission. She also

noted the work being accomplished by both the National Office and the State against the stereotyping and discrimination of Italians, and the necessity for this Commission to continually be the “watch dog” against this type of discrimination. The first presenter was (Continued on Page 3)
