Law and Justice Day Breakfast

HONORABLE VITO A. VIRZI Justice Award The 2010 Carnevale Veneziano and Dinner Dance which was held on Saturday evening, February 20, 2010 at The Crestview in Woburn, Massachusetts was a smashing success. Kudos to Patrick Moreno our Cultural Chairman and his committee, for working so hard in a such a short time to put this together for all to enjoy. The evening began with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and was followed by dinner with entertainment and music by Ferdinando Argenti, David Landoni and Steve Langone. Ferdinando Argenti is an accomplished keyboardist, vocalist and composer, who entertained us with song. I will give you a little background on these gentlemen. Mr. Argenti is a native of Pisa, Italy, graduate of the Berklee School of Music as well as a student of opera, also has become well known in Italian and American circles of jazz musicians. David Landoni is an accomplished bassist, teacher and composer. He has toured worldwide with the Artie Shaw Band under the late Dick Johnson. He has played with many of New England’s finest jazz musicians and has backed up screen stars (Continued on Page 4)

The Twenty-Seventh Annual Law and Justice Day Breakfast sponsored by the Commission for Social Justice of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, Order Sons of Italy in America will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Lombardo’s, 6 Billings St., Randolph, MA at 9:30AM. The Commission is pleased and honored to announce the following recipients of this year’s awards: Honorable Vito A. Virzi, Justice, Westborough District Court (Justice Award); Alan R. DeNaro, Chief of Police, Haverhill Police Department (Law Award); and Michael A. Sullivan, Clerk of Courts, Middlesex Superior Court (Public Service Award).

SULLIVAN Public Service Award The Commission for Social Justice acts as the anti-defamation arm of the Order Sons of Italy in America and its purpose is to ensure equal concern, respect, treatment and opportunity for all Italians, ItalianAmericans and those of other ethnic origins. Keeping within the focus of their purpose, the Commission is extremely proud to be able to recognize these outstanding individuals who have proven themselves as leaders within the community, the state and in the preservation of their Italian heritage.
