Celebrates 100 Years by Adriana Guida On Saturday, October 4, 2014, the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts celebrated their 100th Anniversary with a gala event at Demetri’s Function Facility in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Cheryl Fiandaca, investigative reporter with WHDH-TV and member of the Greater Boston Renaissance Lodge # 2614, served as the toastmaster for the evening. Between introductions of the other featured speakers for the evening, Cheryl recounted fond memories of growing up in an Italian-American home, and of her early days as a reporter in Boston. Joining the festivities was Consul General of Italy in Boston Nicola DeSantis, who had only arrived in Boston a few weeks prior to begin his assignment as Consul General. He noted that he was looking forward to developing a relationship with the Grand Lodge (Continued on Page 3)

The Annual Grand Lodge Bocce Tournament was held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the Watertown Sons of Italy. The morning stated off with coffee and donuts. This year, there were a total of 38 teams in three divisions: Men’s, Women’s and Mixed. Chairman Steven Cedrone

discussed the rules and gave each team their assigned courts and the tournament began at 9:15 a.m. Teams played on and as the afternoon drew close, the final teams played in the playoffs. The first and second place teams in each division are as follows:

The first place team in the Mixed Division was from the Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli Lodge #2183 (Wilmington), featuring players Charlie DeStefano, Barbara DeStefano, Sally Radomski, and Stan Radomski. The second place team was from the Billerica Lodge # 2268, with players Gloria Collins, Bill

Collins, Karyn Marmiani, and Tony Marmiani. Taking first place in the Women’s Division was a team from the Cornelia dei Gracchi Lodge #1583 (Watertown), including Theresa Iodice, Gerri Cimino, Millie Scafidi, and Donna Mazzola. The second place team was
