NARI and Qualified Remodeler Release National Industry Salary Report

An interview with Chris Egner, President of NARI

CM: Tell us about what’s new with NARI

CE: In November 2022, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) and Qualified Remodeler released the results of nationwide research into the amounts residential remodelers are paying their employees – from lead carpenters and project managers to designers, sales staff and administration. With results from more than 400 companies across the country, this was the first national remodeling industry salary survey conducted in many years

CM: How was this salary survey developed?

CE: First, we assembled a group of NARI leaders with expertise in key areas, including workforce developm e n t , m a r k e t i n g a n d o u r c h a p t e r e x e c u t i v e f o r u m Partnering with Qualified Remodeler, we started by reviewing a similar survey that our Minnesota NARI chapter had developed. We looked at the common positions and benefits listed on their questionnaire. We then worked with Industry Insights,

Why the Mark of Conformity Matters

They are the preferred choice by code officials and government regulators – allowing them to instantly approve products for installation with confidence and peace of mind.

Country-specific marks are available for Canada and Mexico to show compliance to Canadian and Mexican standards, for use in those markets Program-specific marks are also available to products evaluated to specific schemes or programs An additional identifier is also provided below the mark, such as compliance to the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), low lead requirements and environmental (Green) codes or sustainability targets

Construction Employment Up in December

The construction industry added 28,000 jobs on net in December, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data released today by the U S Bureau of Labor Statistics On a yearover-year basis, industry employment has risen by 231,000 jobs or 3.1 percent.

“There was additional good news emerging from the overall U S economy,” said Basu “Though the labor market remains strong and job creation persists, there are indications that wage pressures are easing Nonetheless, the Federal Reserve will continue to raise interest rates to restore inflation to its 2 percent target, with the implication that a recession remains a real possibility in 2023 Based on historical precedent, that could produce more challenging times for contractors in 2024 and/or 2025 ”
