ORU EXPERIENCE | COACHES | 2013-14 SQUAD | OPPONENTS | 2012-13 REVIEW | HISTORY Who’s New? The arrival of Coweta native Jenni Bryan has long been anticipated by the Golden Eagle faithful, and the Oklahoma State transfer will make her ORU debut in 2013-14 after redshirting last season. Bryan played in 57 career games for the Cowgirls and averaged 2.5 points per game. Bryan brings toughness and intensity to the ORU program, and she’s also a deft outside shooter who drained 34.3% of her three-point attempts at OSU. Panola College transfer Atoe’ Jackson will also see plenty of minutes at the three spot. Jackson led Panola in scoring and rebounding as a sophomore, averaging 11.6 points and 6.6 boards per game. POWER FORWARD Who’s Back? An inside-out threat with a polished offensive skill set, the elder Balla looks to shoulder an increased scoring load as she heads into her junior season. The Hungary native averaged 6.5 points as a freshman in 2011-12, when she earned a Summit League All-Newcomer spot. That average dipped to 5.1 points per game last season, though Balla showed flashes of brilliance, including a 26-point effort against Arkansas and 17 points against Nebraska. Milestone Watch Balla enters the year with 33 blocked shots and needs 49 more to break into ORU’s career top-10. Who’s New? Marietta native Tysia Manuel suited up for one of the nation’s top junior college programs in her first two collegiate seasons, and she brings plenty of big-game experience to the ORU roster. Manuel averaged 8.1 points and 4.1 rebounds in 2012-13, helping Butler CC win 26 games and advance to the NJCAA Region VI Semifinals. Freshmen Dorottya Balla and Noora Jaervikangas bring more than 100 combined international appearances to the Golden Eagle roster, and both players have the size and shooting touch to create matchup nightmares on the wing or the low block. The 6-1 Balla, sister of Bernadett, played for her native

land of Hungary at the 2010 U16 and 2012 U18 European Championships, and she earned regular minutes for PEAC-Pecs, one of Hungary’s top club teams, in 2012-13. Jaervikangas, at 6-0, represented Finland at the 2012 U18 European Championship, scoring a team-high 10.3 points per game. She was named the top youth player at Finnish club team Forssan Alku after helping them place 3rd in the 2012-13 Finnish Championship Series. CENTER Who’s Back? Perhaps the biggest breakout star of the 2012-13 ORU season, Shelton is back for her final collegiate campaign. The SMU transfer fit perfectly into the Golden Eagle lineup after sitting out the 2011-12 season, earning an Honorable Mention All-Southland Conference selection. Shelton averaged 8.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game last season, with an average of 10.8 points per game in Southland play, and she set a Golden Eagle program record by shooting 65.5% from the field. The 6-3 powerhouse is primed to dominate the low post as a senior after racking up five double-doubles in SLC play as a junior. Milestone Watch At times last season, Shelton was a massive shot-blocking presence. Never was that more evident than the Southland Tournament Championship Game, when she swatted three second half Sam Houston State shots, or the NCAA Tournament matchup with Tennessee, where she blocked six shots in the first half alone. Overall, Shelton blocked 34 shots last year, and she’ll advance into ORU’s career top-10 with 48 more blocks this season. Who’s New? Colombia import Carolina Lopez adds serious low-post size to the ORU roster after spending two seasons at Tyler JC. The 6-2 transfer averaged 7.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in her sophomore season. COACHING STAFF Who’s Back? Cussen’s first season as head coach was a smashing success, as Oral Roberts won the PSO Mayors Cup back from crosstown rival Tulsa, grabbed the SLC regular season title on the season’s final day, won the SLC Tournament Championship in their first appearance and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in program history. Assistant Bojan Jankovic, who spent the summer coaching the Serbian National Team to a 4th place finish at the European Championship, is back for his fourth season on the Golden Eagle bench. Fellow assistant Royce Samuels returns for a second year after tasting postseason glory in his first season with ORU, while Golden Eagle alumnus Kyron Stokes has been promoted from director of operations to an assistant coach position. Who’s New? Two Golden Eagle women’s basketball legends will make their coaching debuts with the 2013-14 ORU squad. 2010 alumnus Janae Voelker, the 9th-leading scorer in school history, will serve as director of operations for the 2013-14 season. Jaci Bigham will also transition to a coaching role, serving as director of player development after completing her playing career last season. For their careers, Voelker and Bigham combined for seven allconference selections and more than 2,900 points.

^^^ A skilled offensive player, Bernadett Balla is expected to be a key contributor to the Golden Eagle squad after averaging 5.1 points per game as a sophomore
