Dear Friend, As we enter another year, much of the world is searching for hope. COVID-19 continues to grip the world, political and cultural conflicts multiply and many wrestle with their own personal struggles. Yet through all the chaos and confusion, ORTV holds on to our calling and our reason for hope: a sinless savior who has rescued and redeemed his people. Despite the many setbacks of 2020, we were able to reach many to make Christ known. And now, in 2021, we will continue to “run with endurance the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1) to reach Taiwan for God’s glory. We couldn't do this important work without you. Thank you for partnering with us to carry out this high calling! May the Lord bless you and use you to shine the light of his salvation this Easter season! Blessings, Doris & the ORTV staff

Heavenly Melody Update: Live Concerts The members of Heavenly Melody have missed traveling to perform concerts and see friends in person in the last year due to COVID-19. However, we are thrilled to invite you to attend Heavenly Melody concerts with us every month online! Heavenly Melody will host live concerts on YouTube and Facebook every other Friday this spring. Wherever you are in the world, join us to sing along, praise God and enjoy some long-distance fellowship! Check the Heavenly Melody Facebook page to see when the next concert will air!

School Rallie

s Student Outreach School Rallies We kicked off school rallies this year in early March. Between March and July, we will hold 35 school rallies all around Taiwan. This is a great chance to meet students in person and bring the fun and energy of Studio Classroom and Heavenly Melody into their school!

Office Tours We have been blessed with the opportunity to invite students into our building as part of our school office tours. During 2020, we held 50 office tours, and we hope to do even more during 2021! Students see the studio and the multimedia equipment and get a feeling for what working for a broadcasting organization would be like. They gain a new appreciation for our magazines when they see how hard our staff works. And they get to interact with the teachers that they see on TV and hear on the radio! We are so grateful for these tours because it gives us a chance to truly show hospitality to these students. In our own space, we can be bold in declaring to them the reason for our hope that motivates everything we do. We can hold deep conversations with students and teachers who are curious about our mission. We pray that the Lord will use these visits to plant seeds in their hearts, that one day they will bloom into a harvest of righteousness and trust in Jesus.

2020 Christmas Rallies Studio Classroom and Heavenly Melody completed islandwide Christmas concerts on December 19 with final concerts held at Taipei’s International Convention Center. The concerts were held in seven cities, and more than 12,000 people attended in total. The theme of this year’s concerts was “Eternal Love,” emphasizing that true hope and peace come from inviting Jesus into our hearts. In an innovative twist, the skit asked what if Jesus came in 2020, and followed a reporter and her cameraman as they searched for good news in the Holy Land. The concert also featured original songs from Heavenly Melody including “Amazing Love,” “Celebrate the Season” and a beautiful rendition of “O Holy Night” sang by Heavenly Melody tenor Rex Wee. In a year where public gatherings are not possible in many places, we are grateful we could still share the message of Christmas to so many people in person island-wide, and livestream it to a global audience.

Let’s Run On November 21, we held our 7th annual charity run, Let’s Run. This partnership with the Chinese Christian Relief Association helps support children from underprivileged families. This year, we raised money for over 2,350 children in need! We were thrilled to run alongside 3,300 participants in both the 6k and the 11k races. Thank God for this opportunity to meet new friends and provide help and hope for those who need it!

Spotlight on Missions: Radio Emanuel in Albania For the past 20 years, ORTV has supported Christian radio station Radio Emanuel. ORTV missionary Dale Wine was one of the founders of the radio station in 2001! Radio Emanuel airs our Let’s Talk in English radio program in Albanian, and our program is especially useful to young people in Albania learning English. Headquartered in the city of Korce, Albania, Radio Emanuel’s radio coverage area reaches over 1 million people in eastern Albania, southern Macedonia, and northern Greece. Led by Meritan and Tani Baraku, the station has radio programs for all ages, with an emphasis on kids and youth programs, to reach the next generation. Pray for God to continue to use this ministry to bring the hope of Christ to millions of people in that part of the world.
