This is the OU’s 8th Community Fair and the first Virtual experience! Providing this online experience is enabling couples, families, retirees, and singles from throughout the world to participate comfortably from home! We are happy you have joined us to pursue your dream of an enriching, spiritual and rewarding life in a new, friendly, and supportive Jewish neighborhood. The OU’s Fair is the only event of its kind with information and resources in one place for those wishing to improve their quality of life by relocating to affordable Jewish communities with professional opportunities. Moving is a significant decision determined by a variety of factors. Whether you’re new to the working world, looking for a career change, retirement community, or just a change of lifestyle, today’s event will bring you one step closer to turning that dream into a reality. There are over 60 communities from the United States and Israeli communities here today, and each booth represents a different community’s desire to invite you into their “home.” Through this open forum, you can speak with community representatives and learn first-hand what they have to offer! We are proud to present seminars sponsored by Guaranteed Rate Affinity to assist first-time home buyers, and CapitIL Realty and Nefesh B’Nefesh for those interested in Aliyah. Included in this booklet are profiles of each community, contact information, and a map that gives you an idea of where the communities are located. Please make sure to visit booths and speak with representatives of those communities that best match your needs and aspirations for the future. But don’t stop there! We encourage you, whenever it is safely possible, to visit on-site in addition to communicating via phone, email, and Zoom with community members. When you have found a new home, please share your good news with us by emailing community@ou.org. We would appreciate your feedback about this Virtual Fair and ask that you please complete the survey that you will receive by email within the week. Comments from previous Fairs have enabled us to make many improvements. Keep your suggestions coming! We are very appreciative of the generous support of our sponsors for this program. We thank you for taking advantage of this unique opportunity and encourage you to learn more and partake of the vast array of worldwide programming the Orthodox Union offers for K’lal Yisrael. Wishing you much Hatzlacha and Bracha, Rebbetzin Judi Steinig Senior Director, Community Projects & Partnerships Coordinator, Community Fair & Communal Growth Initiative

FROM THE DESK OF THE
Executive Vice Presidents
D
ear Virtual Guest,
We are pleased to welcome you to this event that offers you the opportunity to explore a variety of developing Jewish communities around the country. Baruch Hashem, the Orthodox community is enjoying unprecedented growth, which is seen not only in the large Orthodox population centers but in a growing number of smaller communities across the country that have developed or are positioning themselves to be able to develop the inf rastructure critical to strong Jewish communal life. Opportunities to live a meaningful observant life can be found throughout the country, and it is our privilege here at the Orthodox Union to offer some level of support to the growth of these developing communities. There are myriad factors that every individual and family must consider when finding a place to live. Cost of living, availability of Jewish education, job opportunities, Kosher amenities, the opportunity to be a contributing member of the community, and more, must be weighed against one another. While decisions of this nature can be challenging, we hope that the OU Virtual Jewish Community Home Relocation Fair will help you find your new home. We are highlighting over 60 communities in the United States and Israel by providing informational seminars and opportunities to meet individually with community representatives. Please take advantage of the many offerings during this one-of-a-kind opportunity. We hope and pray that Hashem grant you the necessary wisdom and Divine assistance in making this choice, and that you achieve every measure of success. Rabbi Moshe Hauer Executive Vice President
Rabbi Josh Joseph, Ed.D. Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
WELCOME D
ear Guest,
Welcome to the Orthodox Union’s 8th Home & Job Relocation Fair. The Orthodox Union is committed to assisting the members of our community in living an observant life that is vibrant, meaningful, and fulfilling. Every individual, and every family, is unique in both character and circumstance, and thus the selection of the most appropriate community within which to live is certainly far from uniform. To that end, we hope that you will find the Fair to be a unique opportunity to explore, as a possible home, Orthodox communities throughout North America and Israel. This year’s Fair has brought together our largest array of communities to date, including over 60 communities from 22 states showcasing their amenities. The Orthodox Union is particularly committed to strengthening the State of Israel, and to encouraging Aliyah for those members of the North American community who may consider that glorious possibility. We, at the Orthodox Union and OU Israel are, therefore, particularly proud that Nefesh B’Nefesh is partnering with us in this Fair to offer the wonderful communities in Israel for your consideration. No doubt, you each have a particular set of factors that are being considered in deciding whether and where to relocate, or whether to remain where you currently reside. For example, among the endless considerations, for some, the primary consideration may be the hope of developing a sense of belonging to a community; for others, it may be seeking lifestyle affordability or job opportunities, and for yet others, it may be aesthetics and weather. We extend to you our deepest blessings and prayers that you find comfort in reaching a decision, and that you find joy and spiritual meaning in any lifestyle, and in any location, that you pursue. Wishing you much hatzlacha. Sincerely, Moishe Bane President Orthodox Union
SACRAMENTO CALIFORNIA
C
alifornia living in a leafy suburb of the cosmopolitan Capital City! The Farm-to-Fork center is significantly more affordable than the Bay Area and most of Southern California. Experience the beautiful weather — four mild seasons with non-humid summers make outside activities pleasant. In all seasons, enjoy the warmth of the lush valley or quickly reach scenic destinations in the Sierra Nevada, Yosemite, Wine Country, and the spectacular coast.
Travel & Leisure lists Sacramento as one of America’s coolest cities, and Indeed.com ranked it 5th when considering salaries, jobs, projected growth, and the reasonable cost of living. With 250 different crops, kashrut supervision and food production offer great potential. Major employers include the State of California, UC Davis, many medical organizations, and hi-tech companies, with extensive opportunities for remote/hybrid employment associated with the relatively close Silicon Valley. Experience unique adventures such as rafting on the American River, panning for gold and, of course, touring the Jelly Belly Factory. The Jewish community is diverse and unified with a small-town feel. Synagogues include KITC (OU), numerous Chabad centers, and other denominations. A large eruv, active Federation, preschools, community day school, kosher senior residence, and mikvah round out the amenities. Within the eruv is a variety of housing from apartments to mini-farms. Condos, perfect for singles, couples and retirees are around 200K, starter homes around 350K, and resort-style homes with beautiful pools start at 500K. If you have been “California Dreamin’,” make your dreams come true in Sacramento. Come enjoy the California lifestyle, affordably!

STAMFORD CONNECTICUT
S
tamford is a beautiful city with peaceful residential areas that display a rural Connecticut charm. The city is highlighted by an established Jewish community with a rapidly expanding group of young families. It boasts 3 kosher restaurants, 2 thriving Orthodox synagogues, along with a Chabad and an active JCC. The community has a strong Jewish day school (K-12) with close to 400 students, and 2 Jewish nursery schools from which to choose. It also offers an energetic downtown area with fantastic shopping, communal activities and theaters. There are many job opportunities available in Stamford and the surrounding area – especially in the finance area – with several large companies (Pitney Bowes, Starwood, Indeed, among others) headquartered in the community. It is only a 45-minute commute to NYC and New Haven. It is also very close to Queens, New Rochelle, Riverdale, Monsey, and Teaneck. There are houses, condos, and rentals all available within a short walk of both synagogues, and property taxes are about half of what you would pay for a similar home in Westchester, Long Island, and Northern New Jersey. Many people feel that the Stamford community tends to be less judgmental about religious differences and hashkafa issues, and is very accepting of those who may not exactly fit the mold of the typical Orthodox family. Come visit … and see why so many Orthodox families have been attracted to this exceptional community!
INCENTIVES We are happy to provide hospitality for a Shabbat for any family who is interested in checking out our community. We can offer a free tour of the JCC, the day school, the nursery school, and the neighborhood areas on any Sunday. We also offer job assistance by connecting folks who work in specific professions to others in the community who already work in that profession, and who might be ability to help them secure a job in the area.

SPRINGFIELD NEW JERSEY
S
PRINGFIELD is a cozy and pleasant place to live and raise a family. The center of the Orthodox Jewish community is Congregation Israel of Springfield (CIS). Under the leadership of Rabbi Chaim Marcus, who is committed to creating an environment that helps each community member grow in their Avodas Hashem to the best of their abilities, CIS has seen explosive growth with the young family demographic increasing from a handful of families a decade ago to almost 50 young families today. CIS is a warm and inviting shul and a place all community members feel at home! CIS is the only Orthodox shul in Springfield that results in an out-of-town style community only a little more than 30 minutes outside NYC. Due to its geographic location, Springfield residents can reasonably access employment opportunities in NYC and anywhere in NJ north of Trenton. Springfield is the home of Bagels Supreme, Tokyo Hibachi, Rye Deli & supermarkets that carry kosher products, including fresh meats, fish, and cheese. There are 2 Modern Orthodox day schools (JKHA/RKYHS & JEC/RTMA/ Bruriah), both within a 15-minute drive from Springfield. Information about a community is important, but if you really want to know what’s going on in Springfield, please come for a Shabbos and see for yourself. Let us know when you’d like to come, and we’ll take care of the rest. #JustOneShabbos

PENN WYNNE/ PHILADELPHIA PENNSYLVANIA
P
enn Wynne was rated #4 in 2021 for Best Places to Live in America (Niche.com). This rating references the affordability of housing, the low/negligible crime rate, and the positive environment for family life that Penn Wynne provides. The Penn Wynne neighborhood is part of an historic suburb, Lower Merion Township, near Philadelphia. Our neighborhood/town includes several Orthodox preschools, elementary and high schools, plus yeshivot, and Kollels. Classes/shiurim for adults are plentiful. Close to Penn Wynne is a new women’s and a men’s mikvah, Kosher dining, and national food chains with extensive kosher sections (fish, fresh meat, bakeries, deli, prepared foods). Congregation Beth Hamedrosh (CBH), a vibrant and diverse Orthodox synagogue, anchors the community. The synagogue offers a full complement of programming and learning for both adults and children. A new addition on the f ront lawn is a mini-playground for young children. Within our extensive eruv are moderately priced homes (starting at $300K in Penn Wynne and $200K in Overbrook Park/ Philadelphia). CBH has relationships with real estate agents and a title insurance lawyer for assistance in finding homes. Penn Wynne/ Lower Merion Township is 20 minutes from Center City, the downtown business district of Philadelphia, and from the Philadelphia International Airport, Amtrak, the zoo, museums, and sports arenas. Synagogue members are available for networking for jobs. Several medical school affiliated hospitals, drug companies, hi-tech firms, and universities are within a 30-minute drive. We’d love to have you visit and can arrange hospitality for you.
