the spotlightawaits CREATIVE ARTS CAMPS In each of our camps, students will focus on two complimentary skills that make up the wide and varied world of Theater Arts. Taught by theater professionals, these camps are designed to ignite the imagination and inspire creativity while teaching life skills.
is an optional, pay-per-use program for campers age 4 to Grade 2. During these extended day sessions for camps ending at 12:30 p.m., children eat the lunch they’ve brought from home, clean up, and participate in unstructured play, crafts, stories, and songs. The Lunch Bunch fee is $10 per day. Each Lunch Bunch session is from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

DATES June 10 - 14 | TIME Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. | TUITION $190 Using musical instruments and costume pieces, campers get hands-on experience acting out Shakespeare’s stories through movement and creative play.
DATES June 10 - 14 | TIME Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. | TUITION $155 This program is a collaboration between UCP of Central Florida, the Exceptional Education Department of UCF, and Orlando Shakespeare Theater to allow students with and without special needs to work together on scenes. All students participate in daily voice, movement, and warm-up activities before rehearsing together.
DATES July 8 - 12 | TIME Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. | TUITION $190 Campers will work with each other to create their own fantastic tales using music, movement, and puppets they will construct during this program.

We will explore every look from Adventure Time to Frankie Stein.

TYC strives to provide talented young artists a nurturing environment where positive self-expression is encouraged through active involvement in the exploration of classical drama. DATES June 17 - 28 | TIME Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. | TUITION $375 PLAY The Taming of the Shrew | PERFORMANCE June 28 at 7 p.m. Budding young artists get a chance to explore the world of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. Campers will work together on a variety of activities including physical and vocal warm-ups, creating costumes, rehearsing lines, and basic stage directions. Camp concludes with joint performance with Shakespeare Bards.

Campers will participate in daily vocal and physical warm-ups and learn the basics of acting technique and character development. Camp concludes with joint performance with Shakespeare Players.

DATES July 15 - 26 | TIME Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. | TUITION $180 PLAY As You Like It | PERFORMANCE July 26 at 7 p.m. This program is a collaboration between UCP of Central Florida, the Exceptional Education Department of UCF and Orlando Shakespeare Theater to allow students with and without special needs to work together over a two-week period to produce a Shakespeare play. All students participate in daily voice, movement, and warm-up activities before rehearsing together. Limited scholarships available.
DATES July 29 - Aug. 9 | TIME Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. | TUITION $375 SCREENING Aug. 9 at 4 p.m. This camp challenges young artists to create their own action movie trailer combining acting, stage combat, and video skills. In this two-week program student groups will write, rehearse, and direct their own movie as well as act in other classmates’ videos. The trailers are then celebrated in a screening open to campers, friends, and family.

THE ENGLISH SPEAKING UNION OF CENTRAL FLORIDA
ADULT CLASSES ESSENTIAL ACTING TRAINING SESSION ONE: THE ACTOR
DATES April 8 - 22 (3 weeks) | TIME Mondays, 6 - 10 p.m. | TUITION $150 Focusing on breath, voice, and body awareness, this class is an introduction to the art of acting, as well as an excellent re-boot for the seasoned actor seeking to reconnect with his or her artform. Actors will experience group exercises and prepare scenes using Uta Hagen’s techniques.
For the adult actor, we offer our series of classes designed to prepare you to succeed in your profession. Focusing on skills that are basic, yet essential, our training program develops ongoing techniques every actor needs in their toolbox.
SESSION TWO: THE CHARACTER
DATES June 3 - 17 (3 weeks) | TIME Mondays, 6 - 10 p.m. | TUITION $150 Exploring age, time, status, and circumstances, actors will be given techniques to build a character from the inside out, using a variety of Viola Spolin exercises. Students will be expected to learn a short two-minute monologue.
SESSION THREE: THE SCENE
DATES July 1 - 15 (3 weeks) | TIME Mondays, 6 - 10 p.m. | TUITION $150 This class is for students looking to explore the skills and dynamics of working with a scene partner. We will focus on active listening and playing a short scene with objectives, obstacles, tactics, and bold choices using Stanislavski techniques.
ADVANCED SCENE STUDY AND MONOLOGUE WORKOUT
DATES July 29 - August 12 (3 weeks) | TIME Mondays, 6 -10 p.m. | TUITION $150 This class for the experienced actor will focus on scene and monologue work chosen by the actor and instructor. Useful as a rehearsal tool and audition preparation, it may be repeated as a part of an actor’s ongoing training. It will involve movement, improvisation, and exercises that will push working actors forward to break through obstacles they may be experiencing in their work.
