Crafting the best possible instrument
Daniel Friederich is an exceptional luthier. After having trained in fine cabinetry, he switched to making instruments, receiving advice and encouragement from Robert Bouchet. Fascinated with the science of the guitar, he conducted a great deal of research with acousticians, notably with the Musical Acoustics Laboratory at the Paris VI University. That period, from the 1960s through to the nineties, was the most creative in his career. In the years that ensued, he worked on perfecting his guitars – like a jeweller polishing a diamond – out of his desire to create the best possible instrument.
