Region 12 Update

Colin Mullane, 2015 OAR President, 2018 NAR Region 12 VP This past February, NAR’s Region 12 REALTORS® met for their annual meeting. This year’s Regional Vice President (RVP), Julie DeLorenzo, chose Seattle as the host city for the event. At each Regions’ meetings there is typically a collection of senior NAR Leadership, NAR Staff, and the NAR Directors from each state in the region, as well as local REALTORS® from nearby associations who hope to learn important insights from these meetings. This year we had an excellent line-up including NAR President Elect, Elizabeth Mendenhall, whose leadership promises to be, perhaps, the most exciting and dynamic in modern history for NAR. A representative for Realtor.com® spoke on the changes to Realtor. com® profiles, consumer utilization, and stressed the importance of updating your profile to ensure it is brought forward in the redesign. We also heard from each of the Region’s Presidents about issues impacting REALTORS® in their markets and how their respective Associations are working tirelessly to ensure our industry is strong and protected from poor legislation. Next year I have the honor of serving as the RVP for our region. While we are in the early stages of planning the event, I can assure you we will have an excellent facility and location for the meetings. I am looking to increase the level of content for local REALTORS® and their businesses so the conference will have value for all. Stay tuned for a venue announcement in the next couple of months and information on topics and speakers throughout the year. If you have any questions about NAR or region 12, or even an idea for next year’s event, please reach out to me directly, I’d be thrilled to chat with you. Julie DeLorenzo,

What is a Regional VP? Every NAR Region has an elected Regional Vice President (RVP) who is appointed to oversee the work of the National Association in their respective region. They act as spokesperson, and sit on the NAR Executive Committee. Each RVP communicates the various issues, challenges, opportunities, and successes of their region to the NAR President. They also relay NAR’s work, progress, and direction back to their region.
