Registration for volunteers has started, and weâ€™re counting down to our programme launch on August 2nd! Orange RockCorps.co.uk goes Live! Orange RockCorps is growing â€“ meet the new members of our team
This week we welcomed 18 new staff members to Orange RockCorps! Our new team members will be co-coordinating our projects and are busy nd preparing for the programme launch on August 2 . The first projects are filling up fast with volunteers! Our project coordinators have jumped straight into the action and have already completed a project for Groundwork West London! They all bring their passion for volunteering, music, and energy to our projects. We are very excited to have them on the team.
RockCorps is incredibly excited and very proud to be working with the following charities: Hoxton Hall- Wed 27th Aug, N1 6SH RockCorps volunteers will be assisting with a much needed refurbishment of this wonderful centre, bringing new life to old rooms and making this a truly vibrant environment for all that use this beautiful listed building. CSV – Community Service Volunteers project with Winton Primary School, Wed 3rd Sep, N1 9AZ RockCorps volunteers will be going to Winton Primary school in Kings Cross to recreate the pond area into a secret garden and educational area. They will also be brightening up the playground and creating a quiet space. Envision- Project with Hornsey Trust, Sat 2nd and Sun 10th of Aug, N10 3ST RockCorps volunteers will be painting an inspirational mural, and creating a beautiful allinclusive sensory garden at a school for children with cerebral palsy. Lee Valley Park- Wed 20th Aug and Sat 13th Sep, EN2 9HG RockCorps volunteers will be assisting the Lee Valley Rangers in getting the park ready for autumn, making the park accessible and beautiful year round, for locals and visitors alike. Thames21- 2 projects, Wed 6th Aug and Thurs 21st Aug, East London & Isle of Dogs Thames21 is set to make RockCorps volunteers “Waterway Champions”, by encouraging 16-25 year olds to help clear-up London’s waterways. RockCorps volunteers will be clearing up Thames foreshore sites making them more visitor friendly. – both humans and wildlife alike! In-kind Direct- Sat 16th August, Wembley RockCorps volunteers will be helping In Kind Direct warehouse; sorting, packing and making sure that needed goods go direct to the communities that need them. Junction49These innovative groups provide a platform to get young people involved in volunteering. They have introduced RockCorps to a number of organisations including Lee Valley Park.
Toynbee Hall - Thurs 7th Aug, E1 6LS RockCorps Volunteers will be taking part in a music, film and drama workshop, looking at issues affecting young people in London today. YouthNet YouthNet is the UK's first exclusively online charity. They guide and support young people, enabling them to make educated life choices, participate in society and achieve their ambitions. They have linked RockCorps up with a number of organizations. th
Hungerford Primary School – Sat 9 Aug, N7 9LF RockCorps volunteers will be transforming the former car park into a play area, creating a sensory garden and clearing space for a wildlife educational area Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park – Sunday 3rd August, E3 4PX RockCorps volunteers will be clearing woodland space at one of the former great cemeteries. THCP has been designated as a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation and our volunteers will assist in furthering their mission to create a wildlife and plant haven in urban London. We are looking for a 40 person project in Newcastle, Southampton, Manchester and Cardiff – if you have a project that you need help with give us a call.
