Good start for Fabulous FC U13s

Stephen “Chienaizer” Nefale’s boys, Fabulous, started very well this year. Ever since they began playing friendly matches, they have won every single one. On 27 January, Fabulous won 3-0 beating Arsenal at the Chris Hani Sport Complex. Arsenal played well in the first half but failed to convert their chances and their shots on target was poor. Majola opened the scoring to put Fabulous in the lead just before going into the interval. In the second half, Lebo Tsotetsi netted a brace to make it 3-0, the team played the match without its head coach. Assistant coach, Jabulani Mokena, said: “I am very happy with the results, the coach will be proud of us wherever he is. This means a lot to me and the team. It shows that I am leading the boys to the right direction and we are still on target in preparation for the league.”

The first games of the league preparations took place on 29 January, in Sebokeng Zone 3. Orange Farm Nathi Stars FC played against Celta Vigo and Rising Stars. Three divisions - U10, U13 and U15 - participated and the results were as follows: U10 Celta Vigo won 2-0 beating Nathi Stars; U13 Nathi Stars won 4-1 beating Celta Vigo, Rising Stars won 4-2 beating Nathi Stars. The last game for U15 Celta Vigo beating Nathi Stars 8-0. On 3 February, Nathi Stars’ U17 and U19 played against Augusto Palacios Apprentice Academy in Mayfair, both divisions lost their away matches. Nathi Stars U17 lost

2-0 and U19 also lost 3-1. These friendly matches were for developing players as the new season is on the way. Themba Vilakazi was selected as the Head Coach for Nathi Stars U17 squad which will participate in the Gauteng Future Champs. He said: “We have started on a high note as these were our first games in 2018 and I can surely say we are ready for Mamelodi Sundowns in Tembisa. All the coaches have done their homework very well.” Lucas ‘Figo’ Mau-Mau, U13 Head Coach for Nathi Stars added: “I did warn Celta Vigo that we will be the only team to give them a hiding. The results speak on my behalf. But results are not important at this stage, developing these young ones is our main focus.’’
