On behalf of the Board of Directors, welcome to Jewish Family Service of the Desert’s 13th Annual House & Garden Walk. We are thrilled today to be touring Bighorn Golf Club, one of the desert’s most prestigious country clubs. We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the four homeowners who have generously shared their spectacular homes with us. We are honored that they have opened their homes and their hearts to support the work of Jewish Family Service of the Desert. We would like to thank event co-chairs Myra Gordon, Joan Kerns and Joyce Wolff for their incredible leadership in making this one of the most successful House & Garden Walks in the 13 year history of the event. Thank you also to Jeanne Sassoon and Babs Schrager for their tireless efforts in producing this wonderful commemorative program book. Finally, we greatly appreciate the dedication of the house captains and the docents for their work in effortlessly facilitating the experience of hundreds of our guests touring the homes. All of the proceeds of today’s event benefit the men, women and children served by Jewish Family Service of the Desert. Your support provides critically needed services for some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Thank you for your commitment to the work of Jewish Family Service of the Desert.

In this incredible contemporary home, internationally-known Narendra Patel utilizes classical proportion and order, enriched by the power of color and natural geometrics. It is a celebration of unusual materials and fine craftsmanship, as evidenced in an indoor/outdoor wall clad in titanium and an onyx powder room vanity that has been backlit to display surprising transparency. This sophisticated minimalist home distinguishes itself with the simplicity of its architecture and design. The clean crisp color palette of the interior works in beautiful harmony with the rugged landscape. This Palm Springs Life award winning home is innovative and a lesson in discipline.

This stunning contemporary home will soon be featured in Architectural Digest. The interior designer, Terry Hunziker, has been designated by Architectural Digest as one of its “Top 100 Designers.” Mr. Hunziker appears to have used restraint in colors and furniture to enable the décor to enhance not compete with the owners’ art collection.

The threshold between inside and out seems to dissolve and become one in this stunning modern home. The magical grounds include Zen gardens, running streams, and private lagoons. The interior color palette was carefully selected to reflect the fabulous landscape and natural desert surroundings.
