Introduction: Today we are travelling to Indonesia to hear the story of one of the secret children there. Ask the children to find Indonesia on the map. Indonesia is a country of over 17,000 islands – over 900 are permanently inhabited. It has the largest number of Muslims living there than any country in the world: approximately 187 million. It’s the home of the Komodo dragon!
Game: Semut, Orang, Gajah or Ant, Person, Elephant This is a game played by children in Indonesia. It’s played in pairs and is like Paper, Scissors, Stone. Here’s how to play: 1. Face your partner with your hands in front of you, tightened in a fist. 2. Count to three together, open your hand and make one of the following three hand signs. • • •
Ant – little finger points towards partner Person – pointer (index) finger points towards partner Elephant – thumb points towards partner
